Veho announced as new main club sponsor of Southampton Football Club

We do know it was confirmed by the current board, because Krueger said in an interview he was meeting with three potential sponsors and had to decide between them.

Paultons Park, Marwell and Veho were all in the mix, the Veho bid got the buns and cake in first though................................

Thats 61 posts today Bazza.I think that we have got the message.

Dont you think that's enough for today? Why dont you switch the laptop off now and do something else.

Translated to my speak.... 'You've feasted like the true troll that you are Barry. Why don't you shove your laptop up your arse and **** right off'.

You misunderstand the game, BS picks up on things he believes are solid gripes that he can really go to town with, really drive the blue knife in. This is why on threads such as this he makes so many posts in quick succession like he is excited (because he is). GS is the face of happy go lucky wind up merchant when there is only slim pickings in the windup department. Interestingly they both peddle the same tripe when being confronted of trolling and have very similar sentence structure and use of language. Interesting coincidence I suspect?

Looking forward to finding out the sponsorship figure and the blue peasants winding their necks in again. Oh and shame on those slagging off new sponsor because they aren't a global brand. In a similar context nor we're we 4 years ago. Still let's assume the club know **** all about what their doing tho as most of us have organised 6 figure sponsorships before.

Similar to the people who oppose a differing opinion call others skates and pom*ey supporters, its tiresome as I dislike them as much as the next Saints fan.

You are wise beyond your posts, young Mallagroth. Fine analysis.

Coz there are lots of examples of companies spunking 20% of their revenues on sponsorship deals...

I wasn't suggesting they were paying £2m, I was merely pointing out that the bigger amount was more important than the bigger name.

Not sure how the selection of a sponsor indicates our lack of ambition. We had no sponsor a few seasons back and no one suggested then we lacked ambition.

I see the loons are out in force on this

I thought that we ignored local businesses and cortese was a **** for this

Here we are with another local company on our shirts next year and people moan lol

Bloody hell, god help us when the real issues begin in the summer if players are sold. This place will literally explode and news articles will appear from Austria and Glasgow of people hanging in their bedroom in a weird simultaneous suicide pact.

Good local company putting money into our club so whats the problem.

Well yes, they're a huge player in the financial market.

Turnover of about 9 or 10 billion dollars I think.

Still at least our new sponsor is a company that actually markets something and not just an N'ieme tacky, third world, on-line betting outfit. No doubt a few more people at least know what they market now, some of the stuff doesn't look too dusty.

Think I might get one of those video cameras actually.............

To be fair to the club it is not purely about cash its also about ethic's, something that the club has made clear is important to the culture they are developing within the club. I would of thought a local company is preferable to a oversea's one and fits our ethos of going local before looking oversea's.

I really do expect that if the company let it be known they would solicit bids from payday loans, online gambling sites we could of got exponentially more cash, but as someone said earlier its not always about cash.

If our current sponsor got us to 8th imagine where this one will take us :-)

Bet their website has got smashed over the last 24hrs, well done to them I reckon, great opportunity for their company and if it fits within our approach to our business plan then everyone is a winner.

No doubt we have Luis Vuitton lined up to sponsor our training gear.

I have a Veho Muvi, its a good little cam. A fraction of the price of a GoPro and does an alright job.

Why is everyone getting upset about a sponsor? If it had been Google or something - does that mean we'd be winning the league next year?

Im all in favour of the club working together with its fans and now they are.

On a serious note I think Kenwood might have been rejected because of the skate connection to Havant, shame.

This sponsorship/advertising works. I now want this-

Didn't know I needed one.

Could this replace the Watches handed over to players who sign up New deals with the club? ;-)

Dare I say it, but it's also not always about who pays the most. There may well be other tie-ins and benefits worth more than just cold hard cash. The 'value' of this deal is not just in pounds and pence.

To judge this deal requires a lot more knowledge than any of us have. As far as I'm concerned, the fact the founder and board members are Saints fans is a good thing, the fact they are clearly a progressive company who are expanding globally is a good thing, and the fact that they make high quality products in an advancing market is a good thing. The only 'negatives' about the deal, are based on other peoples own expectations and pre-conceptions. And that's your fault, not the clubs.

Welcome to Veho, I hope this proves to be a successful and mutually beneficial partnership.

Indeed and the fact they are local and Saints fans means a lot. I think this is the board looking at building bridges with the local business community. Fair play and well done to Veho!!

Gareth Rogers - "Finding a partner who could match our ambition was our main priority"

That's some ambition...

Ambition ?? What a joke

Well, no one could have any doubts left about Katharina's SFC Ambition now surely ???

He is right in one way, he had to look DOWN a long way to find someone who had such a small ambitious desire that SFC obviously has

( Small increase in ST prices, No news re the Manager, growing speculation re the Players, Wow, I can't wait for the start of next season )

Unless you know something about the company we don't then I'm afraid you simply don't know what the word ambition means. It's about the future, to do with drive, aspirations and missions and for an understanding of our ambition you need to know our new sponsers ambitions not their turn over.

Local business, good quality products, similar ambitions and drive to our own, represents our brand well I think

I am sure the club would not be doing this if it didn't make sense commercially. Much better a partner like Veho than some stupid FX Trading or online betting company based in the Far East that will never have any real affinity with the club. Can you actually read Swansea's sponsors logo let alone understand wtf they do?

Veho clearly are a growing and ambitious company. I like what the club have done here and hope it works for both parties.

This thread has shown what a large number of ignorant and disrespectful posters we have on this board.

What are they going to do? Take market share from Goodmans?

They're a local business and ambitious but ultimately they're another cookie-cutter outfit that sources stuff on the cheap from Guangdong - a sprinkling of design doesn't change the fact that it's a low R&D/value-add/differentiation business model.

Didn't say they can do it, just a definition of ambition really. That said, it seems very comparable to a club like ours breaking in to the top four to me. Matches our ambition well possibly, again though not saying it will certainly happen

A lot of negative comments posted by a lot of posters who have absolutely no idea who Veho are and what they represent...typical of Saintsweb these days...
Veho sponsor Saints who are very much into Wirelss wheras Iam told Saintsweb is going to be sponsored by Clueless

Would rather the club had no sponsor than one paying less than c. £3m. We will only have a chance to assess whether this was a reasonable deal once we know the details.

The 'local company' stuff is irrelevant. Sure, I'd prefer we purchased locally, but money should be received from whoever pays the most.

I share the opinion of some others that firstly I would hate being sponsored by some loan shark outfit or betting company. Secondly, although Veho aren't well known at the moment, I applaud the fact that we have gone with a local company and one which is run by Saints fans. They are obviously ambitious people who seek to market their brand around the World and they do have bases in the Far East too and this is a very effective way for them to go about it. It is typical on here though that without knowledge of how much the deal is for, there are the usual suspects who condemn it out of hand. In the grand scheme of things, the sponsorship deal that we could command would only bring in a comparatively small sum for the size of club we are currently. As we grow more and more successful, we can command higher income from this side of things.

So for you money would be the only deciding factor...interesting.:?

Reversing my earlier post, I'd happily take £2m from the non local sony to £1m from the local equivalent. That doesn't mean I am happy to take sponsorship money from a loan shark.

Shirt-deals-13-14-PL.jpg

The top six clubs are internationally / globally known names which is attractive to sponsors with international / global brands. Everybody else is scrabbling around for those companies who have either zero profile but want some, some kind of local connection or are betting companies.

Established national companies won't sponsor football because its too tribal, they want to appeal to everybody. It makes no marketing sense to spend money to raise your public respect in Southampton / Aston villa / Newcastle but lower it Portsmouth / Birmingham / Sunderland.

I thought Ralphy and Kat had connections to take us Worldwide? Why couldn't Liebherr sponsor us?

Underwhelmed..

My initial reaction as well, but lets just hope Veho and Saints both prosper over the next couple of years.

Hardly seems making up the commercial/corporate shortfall that RK talked about but as a positive its unlikely to be too intrusive on the shirt design* or something crap like Wonga or a Chinese brewery.

* although if the suggestions on the other thread are to be believed then the shirt design will be another tasteless and thankless f^ck up without the need for a sponsors logo to reduce it further

Shrewd move, many folks have gone to have a look at what veho actually do, could mean extra business for them. Had it been a big name we all know we would be less inclined to go to their website as we know what they do.

Good point. The first thing I did was look at their website and I actually quite like some of their products. When my latest overpriced iPod headphones get lost or chewed by the cat I might just replace them with some from Velho instead.

Football was so much better when all you had to worry about was whether there'd be a saints player in the poster section of Match and Shoot.

Now we have twitter and arguing nickel and dime over every tiny aspect of the club, makes for a really boring experience...(over and over and over again)...

Fascinating how people can develop such strong negative opinions based on no information. Worrying trend really.

Almost like they'd rather have a name they knew even if it meant earning less.

I've heard of Veho before. Their headphones were rubbish! But it's a fairly big company. I'd need to know how much they're paying us and other benefits relative to other non-top 6 prem clubs to make an informed judgement.

An abundance of the first and a dearth of the second on this forum I`m afraid.

....oh and I have a VEHO Bluetooth speaker and it`s very good...

I'm actually pretty impressed by the veho deal. I didn't know that they were based in Hampshire. I quick amazon search suggests they have lots of good products and, having no idea how much they've paid I'm going to assume that it's a good deal for both parties.
