I'm not sure if you've seen the latest QAnon bolloxs about global blackout/mass arrests etc.

How the fuck are they going to cope mentally when it doesn't happen?

Mental gymnastics. The further you become detached from reality, the easier it gets to form your own social construct. Just look at the anti-Vaxers; you’d think a global pandemic on the scale of Covid would have eradicated their conspiracy once and for all, I mean how much more blatant proof do you need of what a world without one vaccine is like, let alone several dozen. However, they don’t see it like that. Somehow this is the concrete evidence they need that vaccines are being used to control the population and that appart from a few geriatrics already on deaths door, nobody really suffers from it. It’ll be the same with Trump supporters, no matter what reality entails.

I often go out to Santa Clarita in CA to stay with friends of ours.

They're about to move to a new development across the city and before going Yorkie has convinced one of his current neighbours, a Q follower, that he's in fact a member of a global anti ANTIFA network, working undercover, to gather information before a mass arrest event.

Yorkie is an old school socialist but they believe that's just his cover.

It will be similar to what happened to anti-Trumpers when he got elected. You see how crazy the TSD sufferers have been the last four years.

I remember a post before the 2016 election by LV Saint (Which I agreed with) That while he didn't want to see Trump win the election, there was a small part inside him that hoped he would, just for the shitz and giggles.

Even after all that has happened in the last few years, while most of me is totally appalled at how this experiment turned out, another part of me is grateful for the ride.

This was not like watching a train wreck, it was more like having a seat directly behind the lunatic driver of a jet powered death train with a fear activated hand grenade under the seat.

The continuous feed of trouser staining horror has been liberally punctuated by moments of unbelievably bollock tickling hilarious shit that kept me on an even keel. In other words, a roller coaster ride but with civil liberties versus racism and lies versus truth.

I'm glad I was alive to be a witness to this hysterically funny tragic Brian Rix hatred style farce. While I look forward to another traditional and somewhat boring administration of sensibility and responsibility, I will always look back to these times when I am older just as I do when I think back of shagging Wendy Realname when I was not quite sure if she had  a dose of the clap or not.

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but, apparently, there is record interest from Americans enquiring about emigrating to New Zealand. The problem is that we have these eligibility rules that give preference to wealthy people. I think some immigration is ok (inevitable) but I wouldn't be happy with living with people harbouring crazy political ideologies. That Christchurch gunman who killed 51 Muslims last year was a far right Australian who came here becuase it was easy.

Build a wall, oops you have a lot of Ocean! If there is one country that needs to maintain its border integrity it’s NZ.  You have unique location, unique flora and fauna, and increasingly a unique cultural identity treasure it.

Anyone have any idea what it costs an average US citizen for Covid treatment?

I guess those with Medicaire are generally OK but for the poor individuals who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic it must be a real concern.

Trump was going to reverse/improve Obamacare but there doesnt appear to have been any progress with this.

As far as I remember, it was more I had hoped he'd win the primary over nasty Ted Cruz (and if it were to be a Republican taking office, I'd take Trump).

4 years of>>>>>>> Making people hate each other, telling porkies all the time, dumbing down the nation, becoming a global laughing stock, expressing admiration for dictators, shitting on the environment, a rise in white supremacy, not releasing his tax returns, pussy grabbing, covfefe, lack of integrity, introducing us to his sons Eric and Jnr, #1 for Covid, pardoning bastards and war criminals, blackmail, burning books, shitting on democracy in general........................or, Ted Cruz.

Yeah, I'd probably still take Trump.

Yeah, I'd probably still take Trump.

Sometimes in life, you have to hit rock bottom before you can start to climb again.

America probably needed a Trump presidency as a kind of nadir moment, so that the many underlying problems that have been bubbling away under the surface could be brought to bear and addressed once and for all.

Either that or things are going to get a whole lot worse. The way the world has gone politically over the last few years, it's really difficult to make any predictions these days.

This may all be true but the OP wants you to list his bad points. 😁

Among Donnie's foreign policy triumphs; Iran is now enriching uranium in greater quantities and quality since the US pulled out of the treaty limiting Iran's research, and is close to weapons grade production. North Korea has trebled it's nuclear arsenal in the last 4 years, and has developed missiles thought to be capable of intercontinental travel.

Indeed. The US pulling out of that treaty was ridiculous, and it is understandable that Iran increased the enrichment programme after the deal was cancelled and sanctions were imposed. Whether this was about control, a gesture to Israel, an attempt to create regional  instability, and what Trump would have done with Iran given another term, we'll never know. Hopefully Biden will do the right thing and reinstate the treaty, and Iran will roll backwards.

Mike Pompeo says that "multiculturism is not who America is". He is thought to have ambitions to run for President in 2024. How much of the electorate has he just alienated ?

Probably very little. Many of them will not care about being abused, so long as a perceived strong leader is making promises they can believe.

Indeed.

If Trump can increase his vote share among Latino voters, despite spending the last 4 years insinuating not-so subtly that all Mexicans are essentially violent rapists, then anything is possible in that regard.

Taken slightly out of context as was talking about ‘isms’ not an outright condemnation of multiculturalism per se.

In any case, tens of millions of women voted for Trump after he said he could just walk up and grab them by the 🐈‍. I don’t think such a relatively inane statement is going to put many people off him. It’s like an audience with Jimmy Carr or Frankie Boyle, the more they offend, the more people turn up.

The Latino vote grew out of the anti-socialist message that resonates with Cubans and Venezuelans particularly.  .

There are two distinct latino votes. The people who fled socialist Venezuala and Cuba and largely settled in Florida tend to have brought wealth with them and vote Republican. The people coming up by land from Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico into California tend to be poor and vote Democrat

There’s not much wealth in the Cuban parts of Miami. We used to do construction work for Dade County Welfare housing and most Latinos  were dirt poor.

I used to live in FL too, Cocoa Beach, and I'd agree. They were poor but ardent anti-communist.

Maybe so. Obvs it was a generalisation, but based in truth. Median household income in the US for all races is $63,000. For Cuban-Americans its $58,000 so pretty solid, but for Mexican-Americans its only $38,000 and for Puerto-Ricans only $36,000

Those who complain about the NHS think yourselves lucky you don’t live in a country where this can happen.

Dont know how Covid vaccines are being handled there. Presumably they don’t just want to give them away to the poor and uninsured?
