Which of these options would you take, if offered by a genie:

  1. Another 0-9 and safety
  2. Relegation and a cup final
  3. Relegation and a cup win
  4. Relegation and England win the next Euros.
  5. Relegation and a guaranteed playoff spot next season.
  6. Relegation but ABK, Lavia, KWP, Tino and JWP stay.
  7. Relegation but you get to choose ANY two PL teams to come with us.

For me personally; 1, 3 and probably 6.

Anyone that wants relegation down to the Championship, because they hate the prem / want more wins per season / new grounds to go to / etc etc. can I ask what your long term goals would be....?

To win the league and go up Stronger. 
Or go back down and do it all again.

Obviously anyone who picks 2 would also pick 3. Just curious as to how much people value a cup final relative to the league, even without a guaranteed win.

Am not a fan of what the League as become, but to not be a part of it is far worse than not being a part of it. It wasn't so long ago that the club nearly went out of existence due to a relegation that was totally avoidable. I really think that another relegation would be a disaster for the club.

We are going to struggle to get stronger (I assume you mean better players that are prem quality) players when we are bottom of the Prem, let alone being in the Champ. Anyone we sign if we get relegated is more than likely going to need to be replaced should we go up.

None. I'd just rather we were competitive most weeks, won a decent amount of games, stayed up, and had some decent cup runs.

The last two times we went down we came back stronger and we went to Wembley and won two cups cups.

 

I always wanted to watch Hartlepool United as a boy as they were crap and I did eventually when we played the in League 1

 

You will enjoy some good wins with lots of goals

I started a thread based on that very question a couple of seasons ago and got summarily shouted down like it was an utterly ludicrous proposition. Personally I'd take it.

1, with a 10/10 January window and a collaboration of Adkins, Poch and Koeman all coming together in our time of need. We go unbeaten for the rest of season and finish 8th.

Buy I fear it’s none of the above.

3. I want to see us win something and being in Europe while in the Championship would be a lot of fun.

Not sure what relevance 4 has? Personally couldn't care less about what England do.

Not for me thanks, I'll choose number 1.

We all remember the last relegation and subsequent administration, and nearly the folding of the club. Markus saved us, I doubt we'll be that lucky again. Look at Coventry, etc., or Leeds (bigger club than us) spending decades in the wilderness.

I agree the only way for success in the PL is to have rich owners who want to invest to succeed

 

In general we have not had owners with large amount of money to invest we did have Markhus but his investment in players was not that high really was it

It took seven years, Administration, and a philantrophic billionaire to get us back up. I'd take the 0-9 every day of the week and no relegation. In any event who thinks we are going to get through the next round in either cup.

At least Kruger was a little bit positive,  not telling us to shut up and be grateful where you are.
