So with us wanting it sell Baz, Ramsdale likely to go, McCarthy and Long out of contract could be a complete overhaul of the goalkeepers in the summer, thanks the lord

At the risk of taking a massive steaming sh*te on your bbq; Ramsdale leaving is hardly good news, Long will only be replaced by a similar low budget, 'for emergency use only' third choice and I really wouldn't past our lot to give McC another one year deal.

Good luck to Baz, at Stoke or wherever he ends up. I'll remember him as the keeper we got promoted with, who played in our longest unbeaten run in a century. Not PL quality but neither does he deserve anything like the hatred he gets from some parts of our fan base.

I've been dreaming for years that one day we'd get rid of McCarthy. Obviously no other club will take him, but he keeps getting his contract renewed here. Players may come and players may go, but McCarthy's here forever.

I’ll remember him as the worst keeper I’ve ever seen play for us, but each their own

Obviously I’d like to keep Ramsdale but that’s only going to happen if we go up, so cash in and use the money. I also have no problem with a cheap emergency only third choice, we’ve done it for years with Long, Lumley and before that Callebero and Taylor, just like everyone else does. It makes it important we have two decent ones competing for the Number one custodian jersey, but let’s not balls up and get Baz mark 2 in.

End of day it wasn’t his fault he was signed to be I play in the premier league when he was miles off that level. It wasn’t his fault our wonderful people at the top persisted with him when he was barely championship level. I don’t think anyone bares him any ill will, but his symbolic of the SR era here.

Fundamentally, he was a symptom, not the cause of all of our issues.

But, as it's a loan with option, we'll see him again. Won't we.

Where do you get this idea from? Just because fans are critical of Bazunu for good reason doesn't mean anyone hates him.

Mainly from the people who post massively, disproportionately about their dislike for him following every match. One individual managed around 20 consecutive posts, all about Bazunu. Another person has set up a new separate account, so he can agree with his other posts about how terrible Baz is.

According to many people, "any average League 1 keeper," should have only conceded four goals in the thirteen games Baz played under Tonda, so let’s see how that plays out.

Do you accept that statistically he is one of the worst if not the worst keeper in the league ?

I briefly thought to myself that your post might be a bit over the top but you know what.............Im really struggling to think of anyone else.

Just remembered Gunn as well. He weren't great.

Wow, to go from Johansson to Bazunu is one of the biggest downgrades they could have ever done. They'll notice the difference immediately.

I feel sorry for all the Stoke fans.

Hopefully the last we've seen of him. Worst keeper in my lifetime, and he played 197 games for us which beggars belief.

Another from Man City’s academy. Young, guaranteed to improve and sell in at great profit.

Do we ever learn ?

If true this is excellent news and a small step in the right direction

One small step for Saints, one giant leap (in the wrong direction) for Stoke.

This window is about to see both Downs and Bazunu out the door. Two of the SR poster boys.

An incredibly small step in the right direction at last.

Edozie and Aribo too. Burying the final pieces of the famous 9/10 2022 transfer window

Actually, his stats also show that he has the most difficult GK job in the league, saints are inthe 98th percentile for PSxG / SoT.

That basically means post shot expected goals Vs shots on target. Basically the quality of shots on the keeper. Its a measure of the kinds of chances we give away to our opponents.

Yes Bazunu is horrendous but jesus you must have absolutely nothing else in life to start doing that 😂

I trust mods would shut down Alt+ID accounts?  🙂

(I'll be setting up an account to agree with myself shortly)

It does beggar belief and is completely incorrect it’s 92 in total - all comps according to wiki

I hope it works out for him and Stoke - we aren’t finishing top 6 this season and it isn’t going to happen for him here.

I’ve never seen a natural goalkeeper there as most fans haven’t but change of scenery, better coaches and 1000 miles better manager than anything SR has ever appointed, who knows?
Stoke demand their full backs do damn sight more to stop crosses coming in so easily and freely, and he won’t have Stephens, Manning or Wood in front of him in fairness. THB has not been great this season either. Robins is certainly not a pass it around 50 times within 15 yards to toss one off over possession stats manager either.

He needs a tidy first few games with the position basics for them to build some momentum. De-Bazballing almost, forgetting the SR ‘good with passing’ corporate guff and work with their keeping coach on the fundamentals.

Imagine the fucking meltdown on here if Stoke had addressed their keeper crisis by going off and signing that keeper from Sunderland 😂

Yeah but to go from an incapacitated Johansson to Bazunu, oh wait yep still a downgrade 🙂
