Not MLG, he admitted he guessed despite being the clubs FM researcher. He confirmed he used media reports and guessed using the club accounts to work out back from. No wonder not many people react to his twitter posts. 6

Nolan Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) Only rumour I've heard is that the professionalism within the new recruitment set-up means there are less rumours. Edited June 17 by Nolan 3 2
Saint Fan CaM Posted June 17 Posted June 17 2 hours ago, SaintLondon said: Any danger of a rumour? There’s a chance there’s few to no rumours is because there’s not a lot of transfer business going on. Why? There’s not a lot of call for players coming from the 2nd worst team in EPL history and even if there is, we’ve over-priced the players that are available. And with no sales (yet), any purchases/loans are delayed. Maybe.

Dusic Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Apart from Andrew Watson, and Master Bates when he has read newsnow.co.uk, there is a dearth of genuine ITKs on here these days. All the proven ones (Guan, kbilly etc) no longer post here and you can see why. 3
Chez Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Poku and Aarons, both mentioned on here a few times as players that we should be interested in seem to be off to Rangers. Ipswich have enquired about Marc Guiu and Divin Mubama from City as Delap's replacement As for us, the only noise is about Onuachu and the fact Trabzonspor have agreed terms with the player (how true that is I don't know), but don't want to pay the £4.2m we want for him. No surprises there. 1
Saint NL Posted June 17 Posted June 17 New opta power rankings for league strength just dropped. So signing players from the French league would probably be good for the championship 1

He scored 15 goals in 42 league games for Brentford that year and one in the play-offs. I wonder what the reaction would be on here if Saints signed a striker from Ligue 2?
ally_uk Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Poku, Aarons, Tanganga, Rak-Sakyi Cheeky loan to bring Tadic home. Come on chop chop lads

Mbeumo was 19 (just) when he signed for Brentford too. I'd like to think anyone of that age scoring 15 goals in their first season would be regarded pretty well. 1

Willo of Whiteley Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I suppose it depends who is making the signings, the manager or the transfer committee team. Cant see anything going wrong if it’s the latter in charge still, see Orsic, Onuachu, Brereton-Diaz and Sulemana as recent examples. 🤣 1

He has spent a number of months trying to improve things. Hopefully we will continue to sell for high prices and do much better on the recruitment. A few more Fernandes & Rambo type deals rather than some of the oddballs Sports Republic seem to unearth. I'm well aware that the proof of the pudding is in the eating of course 8

Yep, 15 goals in your teens would lead to a long queue of interested clubs, Brentford would have plenty of competition for his signature. Jordan Thomas for Cheltenham who is early 20s just scored 8 goals from wide areas in his first FT professional season and lots of interested clubs including Millwall, Boro and others apparently.

Probably initial concern followed by huge delight when they performed as well as Mbeumo.

The Saints are keen to bring in Lucas Cepeda from Colo-Colo, however, alongside the likes of Besfort Zeneli and Manchester City youngster Juma Bah. Those seem the most reliable; others mentioned but seem more tenuous.

Willo of Whiteley Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Beggars can’t be choosers; and quite frankly as much as we aren’t in a facial position to get rid of him on the cheap, why waste everyone’s time when he isn’t wanted and takes up a vast amount of wages? Get rid now, take this down as a lesson, and a huge loss - one that we’re already aware of - and move on. 1

Don't think it's unreasonable for us to ask them to pay 5m euros for someone who scored 17 goals in 25 appearances for them 2 years ago. 3

He hasn't had playing time due to non-selection, but hasn't been injured/unavailable for much time at all since he left us for Villa. Totally different scenario to Lallana IMO (although would be question marks over whether he could do Sat/Tues) - definitely a player who would be a class above in the Championship. 1

He's 33 and very obviously has fitness issues. Even if he doesn't, saying he's fully fit, has two goals in two years and can't get in the team even after Antonio's car accident is hardly a ringing endorsement. He hasn't been a class above anything for years and if he hadn't been here before nobody would be advocating for his signature. 6

Now we attract players with the knowledge that we churn through so many managers, that one of them is bound to like the player, and they can move on to better things. 🙂 2
