Last years top three in the PL were the 12th, 20th and 15th tallest squads respectively, according to Give Me Sport. There is no correlation between that and performance, we went down because our team was the crappest, nothing more. Furthermore our biggest (Paul) and quickest (Sully) players were both useless.

Yes but those squads were assembled for a small fortune - those who can’t spend that big have to compensate to some degree with physicality and athleticism. We didn’t do that.

Thanks for your research but you'll probably not be surprised that it fails to convince me. I still maintain our team would benefit greatly from having a lot more physicality all over the pitch and it's something we've lacked for a while. Having seen Brentford recently completely overpower West Ham I dread to think what they would do to our weaklings.

You pay for any attribute, be it physical or technical. Besides, Brentford have about five players who would have been our record signing, their squad wasn't exactly cheap either. The crazy gang was as close to WWII as it is to today, so not really relevant to modern PL transfer fees.

Put simply; if it was that easy everyone would be doing it.

He’s clearly not talking about lanky streaks of piss. We’re not powerful, physical or robust enough, that’s been obvious for years. Joe Jordan was only 5ft 11, Alan Shearer only just 6ft. It’s not about raw data, it’s about putting your foot in, and knocking people around. Brentford have bullied us the last few times we e met, that’s fuck all to do with money and everything to do with mentality. We’re soft as shite.

Yep, not true either, just a lazy go-to argument. Brentford just have better players than us, it’s really that simple. Our ‘soft as sh*te’ team got the third most bookings last season, Brentford had the second least.

What’s lazy is taking stats that are meaningless. What are booking for, arguing, not retreating 10 yards, celebrating a goal (maybe not, I’ll give you that). How many bookings were for putting in a reducer or showing some physicality, not many. Anyone who can’t see Brentford are far more physical than us, is clueless, probably the same type who rate Baz.

Taking off Scienza this afternoon has pushed me off the fence... He has to go, and go now.... let's not repeat the same mistake we made this time last year when the clowns in charge gave Martin chance after chance when it was obvious he wasn't up to the job...

Despite the lack of a 'proper number 9' we have a squad that is quality for this league.

Should be doing far, far better.

There's no patterns, style, organisation. It's a bunch of strangers kicking a ball, not a team.

fans rightly turned on the players at the end, chants of you’re not fit to wear the shirt, sacked in the morning at Still And sports republic get out of our club

Maybe his plan was to take the job and then deliberately fuck it up as much as possible so he could get a massive payoff and then spend his free time with her.

It's the only explanation I can think of for those utterly horrific subs today. It's like he wants to be sacked.

Carl Martin is just a glorified grassroots coach, been in the building too long.

This level of anger is on par of the 9-0’s and some of RM’s gems. They have to go, it’s borderline negligence that set up and reaction in game. Blackburn were absolutely awful.

I doubt this comment is going to be popular but it’s the Armstrong situation I can’t fathom. Misses two clear 1on1’s and stays on the pitch! He should’ve been hooked immediately!!

Players couldn’t give a flying fuck except Leo.

Hats off to the fans. I hope we give them hell if they’re in post for the next game.

There is no control and organisation. It felt like a grassroots game. Other games have too. Not as bad as today was, but similar. No pattern, everyone rushing around, all individual play, no thoughtful, calm possession. And that is the manager's responsibility. I have sadly reached the conclusion he should go.

Replace him with who? 

Downs? Or some kid that's never played for the senior team before? 

Besides, Archer was even worse than Armstrong and should have been replaced first
