So fixture day tomorrow. It will be nice not to look at them and wonder where our first point might come from. Two will obviously be the stand out games. 

I’m going for Birmingham away first game. Pompey in October/November and March/April.

Wrexham will be getting one of the relegated prem sides at home first game - nice match for the TV audiences.

Expecting us to having scum away around Christmas time. Have a feeling we'll get a nice run in at the end of the season (jinxed it now haven't I :))

Ideally we want Brum to have a harsh start, lets not be having another Ipswich type side building up momentum.

Like @skintsaint I reckon someone like PNE or Stoke home or away. A more interesting possibility would be Charlton home - which like Wrexham would be guaranteed to be on TV.

Are Sky repeating their extra EFL games on certain Saturdays as per last season?

Yes, I think so. But there were some Saturdays, perhaps once per month, where the bulk of Champ, L1 and 2 matches were televised in parallel at 3pm. As well as watching a few live I saw Cheltenham play regularly that way once Saints season was over by the leaves in the trees changing colour.

According to a skate I work with they'll definitely be away the August bank holiday weekend as they don't have a home fixture when Victorious is on. So if that makes a difference to whether we're home or away first game of the season I have no idea?

Sure it will be a potential upset on the opening Friday night...

So maybe Leicester at Birmingham/Wrexham, or us vs either of those. Leicester look in a bit of a mess by all accounts.

Pretty sure they don't put derby's in the first month or final month of the season generally so likely to be October and March.

Be nice to start planning the away days though....too much stuff I have had to stick on hold til the fixtures are released...

It does, it's the third matchday so we'll be at home on Matchday 1, away on Matchday 2 and 4.

Also, the first matchday, we will get the TV picks tomorrow lunchtime

 

Then we will get the rest of the first half (up to FA Cup third Round weekend on the 10/11 January) of the fixtures at some point in July.

After that we only get 4 weeks notice of TV picks.

There is one main 12.30 Saturday game plus two or three bonus at that time. Friday/Monday 8pm and Sunday 3pm are also the kickoff times for TV games.

A lot of our matches will get moved so we just need to get prepared for that.

Definitely be Wrexham v Leicester. Sky babbling on about non-league to hosting former Prem champions, etc.

100%, in 23/24 the Friday night fixture was promoted team v relegated team (Wednesday v Saints). Plus, it will give them a chance to parade Hollywood's finest at the Racecourse for the world to see

Because of the Premier League games already announced, and assuming we are at home for the reasons posted above on the opening day, there a couple of teams who we can rule out or in

Birmingham will definitely be at home on the opening day so it won't be them (paired with Villa)

QPR will be away on the opening day so that's a possibility (paired with Brentford)

Blackburn will also be away so again that's an option (paired with Burnley)

 

All pointless really trying to work it out as we'll find out tomorrow but interesting to those who care

 

Also, the matches only get released to the clubs a couple of hours before the announcement, so if there are any 'leaks' before tomorrow morning say 10pm they are 100% fake.

 

And if that isn't enough excitement for one day, the Carabao Cup Round 1 draw is at 4.20pm. It's not seeded but is regionalised so who knows, we may play the Skates in August after all...

Expect joys such as

- Middlesbrough away 8pm kickoff on a wednesday

- Wrexham away 12pm kickoff on saturday (moved by Sky)

- Millwall away 8pm kickoff on a friday night with a bank holiday on the monday

TBH, I’d rather get some of the tougher, sh*thouse fixtures out of the way in August and September whilst we’re still sorting out or squad and getting into a rhythm.

I’ll happily take a trip to West Brom and Coventry, with Ipswich at home in the middle. Save Swansea at home for the last game of the season when we might need a win for the autos.

Statistically, we want the Skates in November, December or January.

My pick for dreadful, freezing, wet 1-0 away defeat away to relegation threatened, Northern team in January is Sheff Weds.

My pick for bat sh*t mental TV fixture is Preston, 8pm on a Tuesday.

Sky Sports will broadcast every match from the opening rounds of the Championship, League One and League Two live next season, with most kicking off at 3pm on Saturday. The EFL starts a fortnight before the Premier League so the blackout at that time is not in place.

Yes, but most games will still be at Saturday 3pm that weekend.

I would like us to be home for the first match with an encouraging dominate win. Then some easier matches with good results during August to get the season going positively with the confidence and belief building in the players and the new set up.

My guess for the first match is home to Preston.

I’m missing the first two games so hoping for a dull home game to start off, such as Watford, Preston etc. Then a far flung away I’ve been to countless times before 🤞

My guess is we'll play everyone twice.

Oh, and we'll play lots of teams when they're on good runs of form, who after playing us will go on shite runs of form for the remainder.
