I think O'Neil read the room about a Wolves return. I didn't hear anything positive from fans, quite the opposite. I know if you work in football you need thick skin but maybe there's a limit.

Here's hoping Russell Martin has equally good room reading skills too... ;)

Well they've clearly stated that the young lad will take charge for the Sheff Wed game then there's an international break so they don't really need to be in panic mode. However, I'd expect an announcement early next week to give the new guy maximum time during the  break to get to know the players and work on his ideas with those not on international duty.

Yes, I think I can. The process is being hampered by the managers we want rolling on the floor laughing hysterically when approached by us, the managers we don't want are banging on he door and engineering dubious press leaks.

For Spors to use the words "actively interviewing" to the FAB, you'd imagine that means they have spoken to at least one or two people/agents this week already, so we must have started the recruitment process at least a week ago or longer.

Doesn't that assume he wasn't being economical with the truth when speaking to this mysterious 'fan board'...? ;)

Ask the Rangers fans if this was a quality of note during his time there.

Why the fuck has Martin not been ruled out? I will need that picture of the fella handing his ST back if they appointed him again

I think RM's room reading is, wow this room is now so much better with me in it.

He'll have to be ruled out by us because I'm pretty sure he'd accept it, and feel we're all the better for having him back.

I have no idea how Spors operates and whether he stretches the truth or not.

Mysterious? It's simply a focus group from which the club can learn from. The club are lucky to have people like them willing to give their time for such things free of charge. I hope they all get a free ticket every now and then for their troubles.

I don't think Spors will rush now. We could be on 6points from 6 going into the international break and look a far more attractive proposition as a result.

I actually (possibly very naively) have a feeling Spors will make a good choice on next manager. But equally it will depend whether its really his choice, or whether he is being interfered with to play in the "preferred" SR way (as Blackmore eluded to a couple of weeks ago).

The club has told both Alfie House and Blackmore to rule out Martin for them - Football clubs do not come out and disrespect and turn down managers publicly when looking for a new manager. Let alone when they're struggling and humbled at the wrong end of the table.

Fair point. Give my regards to your fellow board members Chez 👍🏻😉

That’s a good point regarding us being a more attractive proposition.  Cheers.

Not expecting an official announcement but would  have thought bookies would be piped in so he doesn’t keep getting mentioned as the favourite on SSN

Respect and thank Eckhart for managing us to three points last night, and he'll likely do the same at the weekend given Sheffield Wednesday are in a worse state in this league than we were 17 years back. But, with the signing of Romeu we've identified a need for someone who can raise and set the standards off the pitch. Someone who can guide and give the players someone to look up to as we still have a young squad. A young and inexperienced manager isn't going to do this. They need someone with experience, has done it all before either as a player, or a manager, can nurture their talent and pass down their experience.

Additionally, performances like last night are going to bring more losses than they are victories, they aren't sustainable. Eckhart still needs to learn his trade with the U21s and do something with them before he gets promoted to the first team.

I know.. my Lucy Pindar sighting earlier today was a bit bizarre but I’ve now just been fed a bit of info..

A close contact has today seen the wife of Ralph’s former right hand man Richard kitzbilcher in chilworth today.. which again is a bit out there but I’m more inclined to believe this than think I actually saw Lucy pinder …

The bookies are probably still taking bets from mug punters who think 'the bookies are never wrong'.

Sky have their own bookies as well.....

I think it will be Toll, Eckhart Tolle, I'm told SR are great admirers of his philosophy.

Been meaning to post some of his stuff since Tonda got the nod.

I would be surprised if Eckhart wasn't given the Sheffield Wednesday Game at minimum, and if we have a decent result, then give him a fortnight with the players to have couple of more games afterwards.

It makes more sense to give him a run, than make an error with giving someone a contract now.

Do you think the bookies are in anyway connected or aware to the appointment?

It’s incredible the amount of people who discuss the odds of these things like it’s some sort of indicator. ‘Poor list to choose from’ being my favourite.

The odds list is drawn up by a combination of names people want to bet on and by those the bookies want to entice you into betting on. It’s that simple and if it wasn’t anymore obvious some of them have their own news outlets to stir up the betting action 🤣

It will continue to reflect the best way the betting companies think they can make money off punters. Right until the moment the book closes. And if that means RM being favourite whilst people get annoyed/interested enough to click on their articles and maybe have a punt for or against it, then thats the way it'll remain, until it doesn't.

Bit disrespectful to Sheff Weds, who despite their off the field problems have players who dig in, and I've read are now fairly organised, if limited, but play with a bit of heart and spirit (three things we've lacked for about 18 months)

lol - I expect know a lot more about the betting industry than you. You think they want or expect to make money out of these type of bets? Their online roulette will make in minutes more than the combined total of all the bets on who is the next manager of any club through the season.

Gary O’Neil moved in a bit but what is Russ doing as favourite. I hate the way the club say nothing, don’t rule out anyone which they really should with some. So after a quite quick removal of Still, we have not followed it up quickly, so did not have anyone lined up. We never learn, mistake after mistake.

Don't agree it was a quick removal, it was a month to six weeks in the making . Clearly out of his depth and overdue in my book.

‘we have an online roulette making us shed loads so lose all the money you want on the other markets’ - lol as you would say.

Spors knows Eckhart well. He was General Manager at Genoa when Eckhart was Assistant Manager. I believe they also have the RB Leipzig connection. It wouldn't surprise me if we beat Wednesday and Eckhart is offered longer as interim manager.

What concerns me is his substitutions at QPR were up there with Will Still's level of crapness and could so easily have backfired.

lol - lets try and get some fivers by talking about it. That’s the pitch to the investors. Focus on the big money
