3rd post !!!  .... i smell BS!!

Can’t see it, wouldn’t worry, SR love a needless risk but too hot even for them.

Pity, if he wasn’t one of the Blue Few he’d be what we needed,

Could see him going there.

So could I. Might not even need to move house if he doesn’t mind the W Mids M-Way network.

I’d be prepared to put that aside. Think he’s decent enough.

He probably still has a house on the south coast .

his previous two were spot on, just saying.

Well at least one of his two posts was dubious/misleading at least. The claim we enquired about JWP could never have been about a transfer last January.

Not saying there wasn't a chat about JWP and his future in January and not saying O'Neil's agent hasn't contacted the club and said 'Gary is willing to step in' but I would be amazed, and disappointed if it went much further than that.

Stokes, Ball, Channon, Horne, Beresford, Quarsie, AOC, Crouch, JWP… Redknapp. All had some form of P*mpey link, other than the last entry none have been totally shunned because of it.

Not sure about that, especially after comments from a Wolves supporter.

If it’s until the end of the season,  fine, then review it. We might be pleasantly surprised, but doubt he or his agent would agree to it. It’ll probably be a 2/half year contract ( and likely being paid off after May 2026).

Linked to Brum where Chris Davies under pressure.

Would have expected them to be more ambitious with their new found wealth.

I’m not sure of the depth of feeling in the West Midlands, but would Brum be any happier with a Wolves cast off, than we are given his skate links?

played for Portsmouth for 8 years

Can you imagine if we lose at Fratton with a skate manager?

the board can absolutely get fucked on this one.

Can't stand him, purely based on his playing days. May actually be an alright guy, but just have a dislike of him because of his time in blue. Him and Matt Taylor stick out to me from that era, eurgh .

But, he is probably a manager who can get us out of this division in the right direction. If we were to get to the Premier League with him, we'd then need to twist, rather than stick like Bournemouth did and upgrade, as the top league is above him.

Don't care that he played for Pompey.

Do care that he's a philosophy nonce whose Wolves team wouldn't even attack in the last five minutes of games they were losing in because they first had to pass the ball slowly sideways and backwards in their own half to no effect while the opposition chilled out on the edge of their own area, wondering if they'll ever have to defend an easier three points.

These anti-football cunts should be dying out, not getting new job offers.

If they sign on Russell Martin Mark 2 then that's me done for the season.

Well that’s a better reason. Wasn’t aware he was that much of an ideologue.

Not my first choice but given our history of making batshit crazy appointments I would be happy. Couldn’t give a monkeys about him playing for the Skates.

Just saw an old interview in which he says Portsmouth and West Ham are his favourite former clubs. Imagine being relegated again by somebody from down the road in charge...

If he makes us solid, I couldn’t care less where he played.

Asked a Wolves fan about him, and comment was he gave them a new manager bounce, but wasn't good after. very open at the back, and conceded plenty. His conclusion -  avoid.

He's from SE London, thought I'd read before he was a Millwall fan so guess that's wrong.

Can't say I've seen enough in his managerial career to see him as a desirable appointment and where he started his playing days is a big red flag for me. Maybe nothing in it but wouldn't be my first choice and I can't forget ol' Saggie's stint here, what a fucked up time that proved to be.

So basically he fell into the Bournemouth job from caretaker, just about kept them up but got fired anyway at the end of season 1. Got appointed Wolves boss, kept them up for a season, then got sacked before Christmas with the club in the relegation zone.

Its not an overwhelmingly terrible start to a managerial career, but it’s not exactly inspiring.

Isn’t Carrick Russell Martin v2.0?

Heaven forbid if he tried to implement an actual style of play in possession!

I thought he was too so was a little surprised. Given he was happy to move to West Ham it makes sense that he'd not have any issues with coming to manage us.
