He'll probably do enough to keep them up by the skin of their teeth but christ, how the mighty have fallen.

Popular ex-player there so their fans will be a bit more patient, emphasis on the bit given their league position.

There's a logic to that. If you know it takes time to bed in a new philosophy, waiting until the close season makes sense. 🙂
