Looked absolutely out on our feet at the end there, to be expected I guess but it's just sloppy shit defending and poor decisions for both goals.

Azaz never stops running or showing for the ball, bloke's an absolute machine.

Shea Charles -- luxury player?

Edozie wasn’t the right sub.

Should’ve kept Larin on.

Ref gutted not to be on the winning side.

Rest a few players at Preston, role on the play offs.

Have to still go strong against Preston. Absolutely need to finish well. Incredible as sounds we still can finish third

If and when Ipswich go up, they will struggle in the Prem with VAR. Every single corner they were shoving our defenders away, blatant but never spotted. Also they won’t get all the dodgy pens.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that they're going straight back down. That bet is free money the second the market opens 😅

Deserved to win that game, despite being absolutely shattered after City, and at least we stopped Ipswich's promotion party give them something to stress about during the week. Ipswich are bang average and very lucky the season isn't a couple of games longer. Maybe even 1 longer. Ref certainly gave them every decision going in this one as well. They're very lucky they'll dodge the playoffs as i'd rank them behind Saints and Millwall for quality.

Really? I thought they were very good tonight - best team I've seen at SMS in a very long time and probably deserved to win it on balance.

we wont be finishing 3rd. It will clearly be 4th or 5th and Saints v Boro in whatever order

Remarkable that fans talk such crap. They were very good, and clearly a good side hence why they will finish 2nd

Aside from a little flurry at the end when we were shattered and had to comit men forward, they've scored from a foul and our defence with tired legs (not closing clarke).

Look, Wes Burns might have scored a good goal.

And I don't know how much he earns as a championship player.

But surely he can afford to get a professional to cut his hair, and not his mum with a pudding bowl.

Think a draw was the right result.

Coventry may have won the league but for me that was the 2 best 11s in the league.

Much rather go up at Wembley again anyway!

He was well off his best tonight, that's for sure.

Jander was absolutely superb in comparison - how he has the legs for those 2 performances back to back i don't know.

Ipswich offered absolutely nothing, gifted a point by a couple of moments of fatigued defending and an absolutely worthless cheating **** of a ref. Absolutely no fear of that lot of we get them in the play offs.

Not sure I’ll ever understand only making 2 subs. Feel like with some fresher legs, especially bringing Bragg on might have made a difference.

But you're not bitter are you.

Take your red and white tinted specs off for a bit, and you'll recognise that they had the better chances from the first few minutes.

IF, and it's a huge if, we end up getting promoted with another epic day out at Wembley, we'll actually be glad this game ended this way. That playoff final is a bigger experience than anything the top two will get.  According to the bookies we have just under a 40% chance.  Four big games await, friends.

Phew, great save to save a point at the end. Not for the faint hearted at the death. We seemed out on our feet. Not sure why we didn’t bring a fresh legs. Fair play to Ipswich, they really went for it.

Makes you wonder, if we lose this, while finishing 3rd/4th means we'd be home in the second leg, would you heavily rotate the team against Preston to keep the players fresh for the play-offs?

We’ll finish 5th play Boro with home leg first. Going to be tough as only 2 points from 18 against our potential play off opponents if Hull get there as opposed to Wrexham. That said, not losing tonight was a big statement.

Not sure why Tonda didn't bring Bragg on at 60 minutes unless he is suffering a knock. We virtually played with 10 men because Charles did absolutely nothing - he didn't tackle, intercept or get up and back. Felt sorry for Jander who did the work of two men. Very shabby from Charles tonight.

They were not chasing Man City around for 90 mins...probably a step up in intensity from playing WBA.

yep their two centre backs are very good, good players all over the pitch and Jack Clarke is excellent as this level, could have had a hatrick

Draw about right. First half very even, second half we were on top until we scored the second then they dominated the last 15 mins could easily have won it. They’re a good side with a good manager

It was clearly an excellent away performance at the pointy end of the season. They have excellent players, better than the others we could face. Just hope they do the job on Sat.

We had lots of possession in the 2nd half, but like we did to City, they defended their penalty area really well and hurt us on the break.

Apart from the first 10mins and last 10mins I thought we were good, and looked the most like getting the win.

Can see why Ipswich are up there, great quality to bring off the bench and they also seem to have that jammy knack of getting things to just fall right for them.

I was disappointed with Szienza - too wasteful too often and goes down looking for a foul too often.  If you're going to dive, do it well.

And I thought Stewart was poor when he came on as he has been the last few weeks.  Not sure what has happened, not 100% fit perhaps, but he hasn't offered much lately.

2nd place was always very unlikely.  We've got to fancy our chances for the play offs now, though finishing 5th will be a disappointment.

He has been unbelievable and I’m sure there will be eyes on him if we don’t go up

The same as the forum 'experts' said about Sunderland this time last year then....?

Have to worry that Saints don't seem able to protect a lead for 10 minutes or so. Why not break the game up at the end with some fresh legs subs?

Agreed

Don't be too hard on Scienza, he's done well over a long period, he's allowed to be tired.

No Wembley visit and I reckon we win that. We were just leggy especially towards the end.

The cup run was always going to take its toll on our league performances in the end...

Better to learn that today than in the last 15 mins of a tricky 2nd leg

Will we reach Wembley?? We're still sloppy at the back, Nathan wood just makes stupid decisions or no decision at all,and Charles went missing tonight, his passing was pretty atrocious.Tonda needs to play a B team on Saturday, give the first team 10 days off,no training, just rest and recovery, and no going on the piss. The only way we're going to Wembley and possibly up is if this team is fully refreshed.Still great making the playoffs.

Absolute plank of a comment. 2 goals, hit the post, worldie save from Peretz, had at least a couple of other top chances and looked strong all night.

Offered nothing, fuck me  :mcinnes:
