Way i see it, Boro should not be reinstated/ If saints are thrown out. then Millwall have to play Wrexham and Boro v Hull in new semi finals. How come Boro should benefit like this...

Fcuking shambolic punishment does not fit the crime....

I'm absolutley astounded by that. sheer incompetence by all.

Absolutley horrific. They need to have a long fucking hard look at themselves after that. How can they do this?

Us for doing what we did, fucking idiots. But Christ on a bike, how does that warrant this level of punishment? I'm shocked, taken a back by this. Not sure what to say.

Agreed, utterly, absolutely insane, completely disproportionate punishment, one of the harshest ever in football.  Absolute trial by media, like the world has lost their heads.  Yes, what we did was wrong, but no way remotely proportionate to this.

Also how incredibly amateur from us doing this so sloppily, then letting Boro completely run the media operation on this to set the tone with no bite back from us.

So, who else did we spy on since xmas?

People serious do not believe we spied on Oxford than sat back until April?

There aren't many teams that have accessible training grounds though, so not sure.

I'm still pretty shocked. I think anyone involved needs sacking including Tonda and Spors if they knew. Staff at the club are going to be let go now and they have done nothing wrong which is very sad. My enthusiasm for the club has taken a big hit and I think I will log off for a while and go and watch a film with my wife.

Also is it possible for the independent commission to feel like they have free reign to give us a harsh punishment so they can say "well we did our job" knowing that we would appeal and the EFL have to decide.

The next question is, we have sold 37k tickets does the EFL lose that, hull have planned to play us suddenly have to switch with 3 days left or do they see which way the wind is blowing and kick us out but reduce the points.

I would love it for us to be reinstated purely to shove it up boro fans but i think the spying may come from above tonda.  Tonda takes his 1st ever job in football in Nov and already by Dec he is organising spying, seems a bit of a reach no ? but a man who has been involved in italian footbally might think spying might be helpful.

It throws everything up in the air, the entire league season has been put into disarray. Derby and Wrexham are more than entitled to come forward here, they just missed out on the playoffs.

How many clubs are going to be looking at this and thinking....oh, we could have finished in position x had we not been beaten by Southampton. Heck, even Arsenal could argue they may be FA Cup Winners.

This isn't just impacting us now, we've pulled the entire season into disarray.

Don't care about us eating humble pie, it was fun making fun of Boro and now they get to make fun of us. The fans have no control so you may as well laugh.

Brutal result, who knows where we go from here really. Tonda will definitely go, the players who don't get poached in the summer will have morale through the floor as they've had a brilliant season snuffed out instantaneously. The guy who gave them the belief has totally fucked them over, I imagine most are totally disillusioned now.

Was Spors involved? If so, he may be on the chopping block too. I hope he isn't because the last thing we need is to lose another director of football so soon, and he's made some astute signings for us this season.

Appeal won't go anywhere, we may get some points reduced but that's about it. We still have a comparative warchest for this division, it won't be impossible to turn this around in the summer, but god what a total gutpunch after a total rollercoaster of a year.

My anger is at the club.

37,000 tickets sold. So many youngsters who will have their days ruined. So much effort, financial and emotional investment for nothing.

Heads need to roll at the club for exposing themselves, us and all concerned to this nonsense.

Sports Republic. What a bunch of c*nts.

Yep. The players as well, all that blood sweat and tears, and for what? To find out some cunts behind the scenes have been up to no good and it’s all snatched away from you.

I genuinely expect pretty much the entire team to hand in transfer requests after this. Why the fuck would you want to play for a club that does this to you.

Don't wanna be "that guy" but a lot of people repeatedly laughed at me and called me mental for saying this was clearly still a real possibility. Lots of people on here laughing at Boro for being in an echo chamber without realising this place had become one itself.

Never wanted to greet over a football match before, but this is deflating AF.

Went to Middlesbrough away, tried all week to get time of work for this match, finally got the day off confirmed yesterday, booked my tickets, match and train, last night, all the way down from Edinburgh.

Was on such a high! Waited all day for what I was hoping would be a fine/pts.

Yup, feel hollow right now.

If these latest posts are to be believed, it means most of us don’t have a clue about this case against us. I asked about why Middlesbrough continued to push having evidence of other clubs coming forward, only to be shot down by rather arrogant posters saying we are only facing one charge of spying against Boro. Sounds like we’re f***ed.

@Lord Duckhunter I have some humble pie for you.

It was clear from the beginning we were in the sh*t big time.

Every question I had surrounding the 72 hour ban and other teams had merit.  Boro’s leaks suggesting there were other clubs we’d spied on had to be within the 72 hour period.

Not sure what's more embarrassing... This spying scandal or the forum infrastructure not being fit for purpose... ;)

What does everyone think will happen with our appeal?

Maybe they shave a point or two off the deduction.

Or fuck all.

We are 100% not reversing the Wembley decision.

Guess we’ve seen the last of THB, Jander, Leo, Shea, maybe Fin, Flynn, Cyle, Peretz…

Summer of shit ahead. Thank God the WC is there as a distraction.

I struggle to see how the appeal can proceed tomorrow as we would have less than 24 hours to prepare for it -  rules of natural justice etc would be infringed and that would leave the EFL open to a claim.

Has to be a real possibility the final is postponed

I'll try to look on the brightside - when we beat Leeds, they sold all of their best players, ended up winning the league and now look at them. So we're not going to just capitulate and freefall over this.

The hilarious thing is, we weren't even good at spying

This is what makes it all so utterly bizarre... If you're going to spy then at least do it professionally!

Absolutely this. My son’s birthday is on Saturday and this was one of his presents and probably the thing he was looking forward to most. In the grand scheme of things to most people this only means something to us but I’m sure it’s a scenario which will playing out right across the fan base. If they can extricate themselves from being expelled then fine but it doesn’t change the fundamental fact we cheated and heads should roll and the owner should strongly consider the type of club he runs (and potentially sell up). His tenure has been nothing short of an disaster and if he thinks we have any confidence in the clowns running the club to get the decision overturned, he’s more of a fool than I thought.

At best we'll get next season's points deduction reduced. That's about the best we can hope for I reckon.

And why the fcuk don't we buy a shirt of every club and wear it when spying... would offer some protection for peanuts!

I think we’ll get the 4 points back but hey what do I know. Saying that, none of us knew the two other incidents with Oxford and Ipswich. That’s what shafted us. There have to be more and I suspect the panel thought the same.

You think this club can’t possibly sink any lower. You watch us last season, signing mid table Championship players to play in the PL, finish on 12 points and think, "surely we can’t get any more pathetic than this."

Then we go and do something like this. Now we’re not even honest in our incompetence. The bloke was f**king standing there next to a tree, videoing a training session for a game which was worth £100m. What on earth did the people who authorised think was going to happen?! Boro just wouldn’t notice him there and we’d get away with it?

A lot of people need sacking for this, probably Tonda included. It’s inexcusable. How much of an absolute tw*t does THB look now, with his binoculars celebration, gloating about being caught cheating.

Nope. That's gone.

I don't know if we appeal, they will have to rearrange it. Just to have to go through the process, if nothing else.

Completely over the top punishment for me, but my god! What on earth are the club doing, made even worse by not gaining any real advantage from the three teams we spied on. Not a single win! It clearly wasn't beneficial so why continue to do it

You honestly think those are the only three teams we spied on?

It would be quite funny if we did win the appeal tbh. I don't think we will but let's see.

I still think given the cirumstances a fine is a more appropriate sanction and I'd say that for any team.

It depends if we still have Dragan or a new owner. Annoyingly after years of transfer dross we just looked as if we were getting it right but that’s probably because of Spors, who may yet be implemented in this,

We will still exist next season but in what state we are in remains to be seen.
