I'm expecting a very difficult match against Mexico, not because i think they are a particularly good side (they are not) but because we have not played well in this tournament so far apart from 45 minutes against a poor Croatia team and because the altitude will really make it incredibly difficult. Anyone that has holidayed in Peru and visited Lake Titicaca will have experienced the huge difference being at height makes on the human body. 90% of the group i travelled with were unwell for hours because of the change in altitude. Hopefully England win and then it's on to to Spain v Portugal and i just pray to god Spain smash Portugal and send that nauseating strutting peacock into International retirement never to be seen again!

I think a lot depends on preparation. When I did volunteer work mining silver in Potosi we had an excellent pre acclimatisation program funded by our sponsors and we were able to cope swimmingly with the altitude. However our self funded trips to Lahotse and Carro De Pasco were much more limited budgets and we could only afford an altitude tent between two so a few got headaches. Mexico City is only 2,200 feet high so a couple of days acclimatisation for a super fit sportsperson should be plenty

The same FIFA that run the world cup with Mexico City as a host city you mean?

Cheating, sure sure sure.

Mexico have hosted the World Cup twice before, this third time is a record. Not sure how that’s cheating.

That’s metres btw.

Not overly comparable as Lake Titicaca is over 5,000 feet further above sea level than the Azteca Stadium!

Sorry yes metres still only needs a couple of days acclimatisation

From your experience do you think England should have moved sooner to Mexico City after the Congo match. I think they could’ve gone a day or perhaps two days earlier.

But is comparable as no one holidaying is Lake Titicaca were playing a generational football match up there

They were advised to go 4 days early or fly in and fly out.

So they chose 2 days. Obviously.

2100 metres is about the level of the highest ski resorts in Europe (at resort level). It’s definitely noticeable in resort at that altitude (I typically have trouble sleeping more than anything) but one would hope that highly tuned athletes should be able to manage. The hydration breaks will also help, as will a big squad.

Bolivia play at pretty much twice that altitude. I’d definitely have worries if we were playing anywhere near that high. I have faith our lads shouldn’t have extensive problems with 2100. Plus the temperature will be very low, according to the forecast only 16 degrees come kick off.

Bloody hell, Bradley Wright Phillips on ITV looking like an actual adult man. Last time I remember seeing him is that CCTV image of him robbing someone's handbag looking like a teenage county lines runner.

Canada Morocco co-commentator sounds like a low-IQ northern Bart Simpson impersonator who has read the Ladybird book of football cliches. Great work ITV! Volume now down.

From Middlesbrough? Sounds as if he should be.

Canada have had plenty of attacks but seems they are lacking a striker who isn't afraid to have a shot at goal 🤔

Brampton Bagsman will be fired up when he comes on at 60mins.

Could be worse I'm watching a stream with a Canadian commentator and he used the phrase "100% sweat equity"

Canada outplayed Morroco in that first half. The Morrocans look bewildered at the constant Canadian press that denies them the chance to settle on the ball for any length of time. Canada needs a finisher in the box. Guess who?

I dont think it's cheating. You replied to me saying anyone thinking it was cheating was a twat.

I’d kill for that level of insight!

I read that they are required to do media duties and host an open training session so the minimum amount of time they could spend there was 2 days.

Yeah, have to have open training session. Because that doesn't give opponents any competitive advantage after all.

Has to be within 72 hours of the game as well...

Add in the inarticulate and stuttering  twat on BBC news last night and it really does seem a race to the bottom among the tv companies.
