My guess is 10 game touchline ban.

Not going to be a big deal, can still run and influence the game, only difference is can't shout at players from the touchline.

We'll be fine.

More annoyed about the 4 point deduction. Will take a while to catch up with the leading pack. 

What is Allowed During a Touchline Ban:

Dugout Contact: Using phones or staff messengers to relay tactical messages to coaches on the bench.

Location: Sitting in the stands or the designated director's box, away from the technical area.

Team Talks: Entering the dressing rooms before the match and at half-time.

Tonda doesn't strike me as a "shouty type" during a match. I don't think a touchline ban would be much of a problem for us.

And as his offences are nothing to do with touchline behaviour a touchline ban would be a bit silly really. Good for us no doubt but silly. He could in theory carry on spying at will.

Are you suggesting his punishment should only be one that stops him spying? What punishment would stop him spying? An ankle monitor and a curfew?

A complete ban, 6 months to a year suspended dependent on no further misdeamenours and a fine of 100 k, half suspended.

He hasn't been charged with spying as you well know and furthermore he did not do any spying. His "crime" is unconnected to his activity on the field of play so his sanction should reflect that, more appropriate would be a ban from football activity. How does banning someone from the touchline reinforce that he or anyone else should avoid such activity in the future. But if they offer touchline ban then he should bite their hand off, because its almost meaningless.

It's not though is it, otherwise he wouldn't have done it. The amount of times this has had to be explained to various people is genuinely bizarre.

Anyway, club continue to brief media outlets they don't have any indication of the outcome and last week were telling the Athletic they don't expect a ban so this whole not as bad as it first seemed that will be announced two days ago sounds good.

If his 'crime' is unconnected to his activity on the field, why would a ban from all football activity be appropriate?  Surely that would ban him from his activity on the field which is unconnected to his crime?

Makes a touchline ban seem pretty pointless. I’d prepare to be disappointed if that is what you’re expecting or want.

As someone else says, his offence wasn’t on the pitch, pitch side or even a matchday. I’m expecting it to be more far reaching (altjougn hope it isn’t).

All this mindless speculation does is to reinforce the fact that nobody knows where the so-called crime is considered to be in a range from "nothing to see here" to "deserving of public sacrifice".

It's the EFL and the FA that are starting to look ridiculous. Wish they'd just damn well get on with it.

Might depend if we’ve lodged an appeal don’t forget. If we have then there may be a prescribed period for the FA to review it.

The EFL decision and appeal was done with the Saturday fixture in mind so accelerated. But of course it was all about the integrity of the game, not the commercial side of it and millions riding on the match taking place.

FFS if you're trying to be obtuse, you're doing a fucking good job. In what way, shape or form is bringing the game into disrepute by manipulating an employee to do some scouting away from base directly connected to on pitch activity?
