Patches O Houlihan Posted yesterday at 12:15 Posted yesterday at 12:15 I'm loving the scoring of amazing goals shortly before the half time whistle! 1
sockeye Posted yesterday at 12:15 Posted yesterday at 12:15 Insane strike from Wellington... utterly ridiculous 3
Gloucester Saint Posted yesterday at 12:16 Posted yesterday at 12:16 Fair play, could see some Lincoln fans applauding that. That had a Cuco Martina ‘wow, didn't see that coming’ element.
2Morrow Posted yesterday at 12:16 Posted yesterday at 12:16 JWP Assist. Some of you dont know ball 🤫😂 3
obelisk Posted yesterday at 12:16 Posted yesterday at 12:16 Just noted that Welington's goal was assisted by a JWP sideways pass. 1

Saint NL Posted yesterday at 12:17 Posted yesterday at 12:17 Good save. Need to get into half time at 1-0
Harry_SFC Posted yesterday at 12:18 Posted yesterday at 12:18 Hell of a goal that. Papers over the cracks though. Yes Lincoln are well organised but we've been really poor. Lacking any sort of invention. 6
obelisk Posted yesterday at 12:19 Posted yesterday at 12:19 Aerial bombardment sirens going off in Saints defence.
Saint Fan CaM Posted yesterday at 12:20 Posted yesterday at 12:20 That’s what can happen when a decent player takes charge and has fucking shot on goal without 5 oppo players within 2 feet. Take note Larin, Scienza, Fellows, Matzuki, Downes and JWP! 1

Stephens making mistakes again - fortunately Lincoln not good enough to take advantage. Matsuki frustrating again - same mistakes every game, but also good in spells too.

Matthew Le God Posted yesterday at 12:21 Posted yesterday at 12:21 Southampton would be top in the live table if it wasn't for the -4
Baird of the land Posted yesterday at 12:21 Posted yesterday at 12:21 Thank goodness for a Welington worldie game has done nothing to reassure me that our underinvestment in a proper Charles replacement won’t bite us. Seeing notifications of 3 goals stoke’s good signings are scoring extra salt in the wound.

Lacking any sort of invention. I don't think we've been really poor, i think we have been neat and tidy although there has been a threat from Lincoln and a better side would have punished us, but I agree we've lacked a cutting edge in attack. Azaz hasn't had much space and Matsuki and Scienza have struggled to get into the game too. Scoreline is good though. Hopefully now we can have the confidence to get more. 2

Stoke have strengthened well, Saints were linked with Galbraith and Devenney and both on the scoresheet today. They could be this season's surprise package.

Lee On Solent Saint Posted yesterday at 12:26 Posted yesterday at 12:26 We look vulnerable to the long ball up the top. Need to be better from a defending point of view.

obelisk Posted yesterday at 12:28 Posted yesterday at 12:28 Lincoln have had some reasonable chances to score. Can see them converting at least one of these long ball bombardments into a goal. Saints maybe need to be a bit more direct with their attacking play.

I think that’s because they’re don’t do anything differently most of the time. They’re hugging the touchline so much that on a press there’s nowhere to go and guess what the ball gets re-cycled. Just needs one of them to make themselves available in a channel or further in-field once in a while and at worst we might get a FK in JWP territory. 2
benjii Posted yesterday at 12:29 Posted yesterday at 12:29 I would like to see us play the occasional ball round the corner for Larin. He's not slow and if we turn them a bit more it will open up some space for Azaz, Leo etc.. I don't think we're playing badly, but we could be a bit more unpredictable.

Wade Garrett Posted yesterday at 12:30 Posted yesterday at 12:30 Dogged first half. We need to impose ourselves a bit more. Scienza needs to show more or he’s getting subbed. Downes and JWP controlling the midfield. Fantastic goal from Duke.

Osvaldorama Posted yesterday at 12:32 Posted yesterday at 12:32 Tbf, Lincoln have set up really well. Their press and shape has been top class. They’ve made it really difficult for us to play. We haven’t been great in the face of that, but we’re doing enough. They have to come out and play now. Should hopefully open up a bit. 2
Saint NL Posted yesterday at 12:32 Posted yesterday at 12:32 Is Tonda keeping the players in longer at half time to give them the hairdryer treatment?

suewhistle Posted yesterday at 12:32 Posted yesterday at 12:32 I don't think Lincoln can maintain their level of physical effort. We've been less than slick but get another goal and we'll be comfortable.
pingpong Posted yesterday at 12:32 Posted yesterday at 12:32 16 minutes ago, Saint NL said: Plenty of forward passes there, but he's doing the job asked of him, 1. All those clusters on the left - shifting it forward to scienza, who has often been giving it back to him or weli. 2. Switching play to the right (bree, matsuki) who then either give it back to him or lose the ball. He's maintained possession almost flawlessly. If tonda asked him to play it through the middle I'm sure he would. 1
