Thread: Saints vs Burnley - Match Thread

Been slightly disappointed with Armstrong so far. He's busy and seeing plenty of the ball but his passing has been off today. Hopefully will come good in second half.

Bednarek doesn't look like he's coming on. Kicking a ball about with Oriel. Weird. We're one more daft error from Vestrgard from a loss here. Why doesn't he change it? Also, Long has looked out of it. Is this the sort of game for Che"s muscle?

    And possibly neither.

Long has been quiet and Armstrong very wasteful - Adams for Long is a good shout.

Actually in the ground watching KWP looks ok from my seat - just a bit new that’s all.
But on here every newbie has to be XBox pro straight out of the box.

Wind is a bit swirly in the ground a few good cross field balls have just died mid flight.

    Wind behind us this half?

I’d take a draw today, the weather sucks. Get the win against Villa next...
That had nothing to do with the wind - Ings got out of the way - it would have hit him if he did not move. Then McCarty is behind the line - on the line and he might save it. Dumb and Dumber! Only thing I can think is Mac told Ings to leave it??

Burnley quite happy to see Saints farting around with the ball in their own half.

If there's a serious injury, this Ref needs to be held accountable - letting too much go and encouraging the Thugs!

Right. Dust off and get to 40 points and then have a holiday so we can refresh for next season.

Unlikely we have anything to play for now if we lose this

    Game over

we have huff'd and puff'd but barely threatened Pope

That is exactly why we should not be giving Long a new deal. Need to get someone better

To be honest that has been the attitude of the club judging by what we did in January.

We’ve got **** all to change a game and the fact we didn’t try and improve our squad In January is disgusting. We deserve relegation.

So which one of our two absolutely horse central defenders was at fault there then?

The pair of them have been an accident waiting to happen.

    Shocking

When we sell Some more players and potentially get a couple of loans in......people are ‘wising’ up, Check the empty seats

Burnley can play how they like. Their basic approach is never enough to beat decent teams. They play that way cos they are limited. We should have enough to play around them but we look laboured today and aren't getting enough balls in the box.

  32. #132

All we deserve. Haven't turned up at all in the second half.

Imagine shipping five goals (and counting) this season to a garbage Burnley team.

Still think we're going to be in the mix for the bottom three until the end of the campaign. Concede too many goals "out of nothing".

Very poor performance today. Looks like we are still on our winter break here.

1 win in 6 if it stays like this. 7 points off bottom 3 and played a game more than most.

Get more attacking players on Ralph - what are you waiting for? Burnley to score again?

We have gone full long ball mode. Which is what Burnley want.

its what we did last year. Limped to the end of the season.
What makes it worse, we made ourselves weaker in the process this year. All very bizarre

Are we going to spend the last twenty minutes swinging hopeful crosses in from the edge of the box against Burnley?

Jermaine can **** off with his blaming the fans for reacting negatively. How are people supposed to react when McCarthy boots it straight out of play?

Maybe if Saints played their home games somewhere away from St Mary's.

He booted it straight out of play because of the jeering from the fans.

Really shows how important Armstrong is for our attacking play. If he plays poorly like today our entire attacking play falters.

The "sensible" and "successful" window has seen us drop 4 places (c£8 million in prize money) and exit the FA cup (£ impact unknown)

    Must stay positive though.
