East Kent Saint Posted 27 May, 2025 Posted 27 May, 2025 Taking a yellow didn't seem an option as Odegaard was already half way past him and Smallbone was too close and on his heels to make any kind of tackle.

CSA96 Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 Gone to Millwall to get some minutes - contract expires in June 2026 so unlikely we'll see him again
Mattio Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 He should shave his hair back off so he can fit in with the Millwall fans. 3
sfc4prem Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 He'll end up remembered as a fairly decent Championship midfielder. 1
goodymatt Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 Seems a bit wasteful to let him go on a free next summer.
austsaint Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 Nice lad; very average player. Wish him well at the Den.
die Mannyschaft Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 Done well for us and always had time for fans doing autographs etc. 2
Gloucester Saint Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 (edited) If Neil can get him on the weights and bulking up a bit Millwall will have a footballer they will really enjoy. Great weight of pass, good touch, and can finish. The right manager to get Russball out of his head and make him more progressive again, take a few more risks. Too lightweight for Still’s preferred formation and hasn’t got the engine for the PL where Saints want to be back to but wouldn’t take that much to get him more robust so that he could at Champ level. Saint Keef Posted 1 September, 2025 Posted 1 September, 2025 Probably a good move for everyone at this stage and I wish him well. Will always remember his goal v WBA in the play-off semi final at St Mary's and his through ball for Armstrong's goal in the final. Two of my happiest days as a Saints fan, so if for nothing else, thanks for those Will. and best wishes. 15

chownie20 Posted 2 September, 2025 Posted 2 September, 2025 Hope we got a decent loan fee. £7m sale to Wrexham would have been better. 1
LiberalCommunist Posted 2 September, 2025 Posted 2 September, 2025 I reckon he will thrive there. I expect to see his name pop up on match reports on a constant basis. That is a clever bit of business for them. 2

Difficult to imagine we would be any worse off if Aribo and Smallbone had been playing for us instead. Let's say it, probably we'd be better off. 2

disconnect Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Good luck to him. Surprised it's taken him this long to find a club. Not surprised Joe Aribo on the other hand is still without a club (but will be rich enough to retire already)! 2
Sir Ralph Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Smallbone is a Martin dream. His side way passing stats are off the scale. Too lightweight and not enough of a risk taker to materially impact games at the higher level 1

Wasn’t Aribo on £70k a week something with us? I always thought there was a decent player in there but he only showed it occasionally and his last season here he might as well have not turned up

Pleased for WS, hope he does really well there. Edited 1 hour ago by Teamsaint1 10
Suhari Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Good luck to the lad. He never really kicked on for us, but is surely good enough to forge a decent career for himself. Was really surprised he went so long without a club. 2
Oh no Mick Mills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thought he was a decent Championship midfielder. Contributed more offensively in 23/24 Season than Tom Fellows did for us last season. Plagued with injuries has set him back. Good luck to him. 4
SaintNewForest Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago One of those players who seemed quite hated/underrated/over-criticised by Saints fans. I always really liked him, and was outstanding in 23/24 for us.
SuperSAINT Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago He will do very well (assuming RM survives). Suits playing that style & a 3-man midfield.
