An attacker? £10m buys a lot in the championship. He had two years left for what it's worth, we triggered the extension up until 2027 a while ago.

Willo of Whiteley Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 £40M for a teenager is excellent. Bags of potential, but still enough time in his career to screw it up like many other young English talents. He WANTED to leave. Therefore we’re better off without him. I hope he doesn’t get homesick. 😂 2

Lighthouse Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Good luck to the lad, hope it works out for him. The fee seems reasonable, especially if there’s a sell on clause, he’s still got a lot to prove in order to justify it. Hopefully a modest chunk of it can go towards a decent creative midfielder. On a separate note, I think we can put to bed the discussion as to whether a young player is better off at a club like Saints or Chelsea. Jimmy Jay Morgan was last seen on loan at Gillingham. 4

Badger Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Shame to see him go, and doubt that Everton and Moyes are a good choice but that’s his look out. Certainly can’t blame him for wanting out of the club the way it’s been over the last few years.
stevematthews635 Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Really quite ambivalent about him going. Huge potential but still very much a work in progress and hasn't shone dor Saints in some time. I actually think, right now, Robinson looks the better prospect. That being said, I'd rather have Dibling than the useless twats BbD, archer or armstrong in that position. 3
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Wishing him all the best for a successful career. We benefited financially from his return from Chelsea, and also in watching him in the first half of last season. it reflects well on the club, and it's development of youngsters, to see another talent move on. That said, it's disappointing that his development couldn't continue with us at a higher level, before moving on to an even bigger destination. 4
Teamsaint1 Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Think Everton will be very pleased with him and the fee. incidentally, what happens to the add ons if Everton sell him before they are triggered ?
SNSUN Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 I hope he achieves his potential for his sake (not for Everton's) and while we lose another prospect, at this moment in time I'm happier with the pure profit... so long as we invest it in the first team. Money in the bank does nobody a favour... except SR of course, and that would just confirm what we mostly all already think of them. Thanks Tyler, one of the only bright spots in a shit season. Huge gamble from Everton but that's not our problem. 3

Kenilworthy59 Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Feels a bit like Theo Walcott to Arsenal. Went too early and never achieved his full potential. He made it as a decent footballer, but with better handling and attention to key aspects of his game like shooting, he might have been world class. 1
CylonKing Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 THE DUGOUTS HAVE GONE TYLER, FOR GOODNESS SAKE. YOU'RE TOO LATE! Best for everyone I think. Wish him all the best, Fernandes and Robinson much much better players. We need a striker, what's that Danny Ings up to these days. Has Rudi Skacel signed yet?

No disrespect to the player, but I don't care how it pans out really. He made his choice - as I said elsewhere, thanks for the £. Edited 26 August, 2025 by Patrick Bateman 2
davefizzy14 Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 (edited) Good luck to Tyler. Was really hoping he would stay. One of the best talents that we have produced from our academy. Edited 25 August, 2025 by davefizzy14 2
Saint Fan CaM Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Good luck to him - he was a Saint. Now he’s not, so the only thing on my mind is whether the funds will be invested wisely to increase the overall quality of the 1st team. If Spors signs someone for the future now I think we’ll all give up! 1
Whitey Grandad Posted 25 August, 2025 Posted 25 August, 2025 Never really got going here. Good luck and I hope it works out for you. Thanks for the money. Let's hope we spend it wisely. 1
verlaine1979 Posted 26 August, 2025 Posted 26 August, 2025 35m feels cheap. Unless the other 5 is purely appearance based, we're probably never going to see it.

Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted 26 August, 2025 Posted 26 August, 2025 Meh, not overly fussed. Relatively sure he'll struggle there. Haven't particularly missed him so far this season. 1

Walcott was 16, had played half a season of Championship football and was competing with Henry, Pires and Wiltord for a place. Dibling is 19, has a full season at the top level and only needs to oust Dwight McNeil from the team. I think he’ll do okay. 1

Baird of the land Posted 26 August, 2025 Posted 26 August, 2025 Previously i would have been gutted about losing a young player. However, that is a load of money for a player, who apart from a brief spell last season has done very little.

pingpong Posted 26 August, 2025 Posted 26 August, 2025 We've lost a lot of very good players with potential over the years, and its caused a lot of upset every time. Don't think this is one of them, though - many fans ambivalent about it, probably because he had a purple patch of 2 or 3 games and has been bang average since. Towards the end of the season he was getting touted at 25m, so have to be happy with the deal. I think he'll do ok, probably make a similar impact at Everton as Walcott did.

BarberSaint Posted 27 August, 2025 Posted 27 August, 2025 A shy, reserved lad in the bustling metropolis of Liverpool with all those outgoing northerners around him and him earning more per week than they do a year. He'll be back next week. 2
Tommy Posted 27 August, 2025 Posted 27 August, 2025 Huge talent with a lack of desire and attitude to carry out the hard work in football, and based on recent history has a big question mark over his mental strength. I’m convinced his career will go nowhere, will end up a flop and history will show we stole £40m from Everton. I mean what did we get 3/4 decent appearances? 1

Hope it works out for him.
OldNick Posted 27 August, 2025 Posted 27 August, 2025 I dont want him to fail, and hope he does well as the club may gain, but I find it difficult to see. Yes he is raw talent but those Everton fans are unforgiving, having 55k of them on your back for not looking interested may haunt him. Everton fans saying hes going to live in a fantastic city, well Im sure it is but dont go out your front door and expect to have your belongings there when you get home lol (only kidding)

I am really not surprised at all if this is true. I said at the time i didn't believe he would leave Saints because i have a friend who is close to the Dibling family and everything he had heard had suggested he didn't want to leave. I have no idea what happened to change this? Bad advice? Saints wanting to sell? I have no idea but i do fear TD may just disappear and become one of those youngsters that never broke through.
JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted 27 October, 2025 Posted 27 October, 2025 Didn't someone say his parents and agents were split in what to do? Either way a season in the Champ could have been good for him but then again Still would have been too scared to play him
East Kent Saint Posted 27 October, 2025 Posted 27 October, 2025 All rather sad for such a youngster , pity he wasn't kept here to give him a chance

If its not working out for the lad I really dont know what happens now unless Everton decide to send him out on loan and he comes back down south in January. But this isnt like last time with Chelsea, Everton have paid serious money for the boy, they'll be no contract torn up this time around. If its true the people giving him advice are not acting in his best interests whatsoever.

BarberSaint Posted 27 October, 2025 Posted 27 October, 2025 Way our team is, I'd bring him back and provided he's motivated we'd score more. Give them AA and Archer and DD in return and we'll call it quits if they also give us £50m.
