Imo the Championship season was fun and I have great memories of that season.

Most of his games were boring and that isn't revisionist - it's an opinion many people aired at the time.

He also succeeded in getting us to 4th in the championship with a top 3 squad - again many people said as much at the time.

Let's not be revisionist about it he achieved the minimum and a lot of the football was tedious, especially in the famous unbeaten run, but there were some brilliant moments too.

I couldn't give a shite what style we play , I just like Saints winning games personally...makes my weekend a whole lot better.

They have some top players for sure on high wages and long contracts. If he can get them onboard to play in league one or offload (but who will want them). They were a disgrace last season some of their players. Also they are in financial world of shite and the wages above do not help. I listen to the 2nd Tier podcast it is really worth a listen and they do not have much confidence in them bouncing back. But of course they will not be talking about them anymore!

I think he'll do alright there, similar to how he did for us in the promotion season. Surely he must have learnt and moved on from us and Rangers and moved on from the dull, pointless passing for the sake of it......? Even if he hasn't Leicester should have too much for L1 sides.

But you can't ignore the long unbeaten run and he got us up. You also can't ignore, despite all that, some tedious football, losing LC first round at Gillingham in a shocking performance, thrashed at Sunderland and so poor home to Leicester soon after. Superb first halves away at Swansea and Cardiff then shockers after the break. Then later in the season the home games against Hull, Millwall and Stoke were shockingly bad and the away at Blackburn and...of course...Leicester again were as bad as it got.

Maybe they should quickly ditch him if he gets them promoted.

Think he was very naive.

Luton performed miles better the season before Saints in the prem and their squad was considerably worse.

I'm trying to pitch a comment to my Leicester supporting comment. I'd like to be positive, but you just don't know how it will turn out.

He will work on that scar tissue, and will have a decent team spirit. But the club will be looking to offload players, and plenty will be looking to go anyway.
You've got the talent to overcome other teams, both following and in spite of his tactics. But it depends who you have left.
He has improved the standings of clubs, although in spells and often without achieving final goal.
Against teams that set up a certain way, RussBall is great to watch. It's just all those other teams, who set up to defend or press. 
Having control of games can be nice. But the endless reset after every move, when you could be dominating is frustrating.
Getting in Will Smallbone might not look like a marquee signing, but will make a difference. 
 

Edit: And although his press conferences have no bearing on the game you've just seen, you can always ignore them. He's been like that since he was a player.

The club are saying nothing as usual but I'm expecting a large exodus.  Jeremy Monga, our acadamy graduate is apparently going to Arsenal which is a damn shame as he good be a top player.
