It was largely known we needed to reduce the squad but then people moan when someone leaves and isn’t replaced. Ultimately it’s where we land on 1st Sept that we need to worry about not 8th Aug.

It would be odd for a whole new set of people to repeat the same recruitment errors as their predecessors. But they are working under similar SR principles. Player trading ticks a season on season goal for them, and selling Fernandes and certainly Dibling achieves that.

It's then down to the quality of the new crop of players to come in for future sales. 

Baz - Saga - Edwards - Quarshie (THB) - Welington

Charles - Downes

AA - Aribo - Edozie (Robinson)

Stewart (Downs)

With Aribo and Edozie very possibly gone too, it really does have gaps.

 

Is Stewart ahead of Downs? Not sure about that, from what I saw of Downs in the Gold Cup and the way he took the goal in pre-season as soon as he is fit he should play. So Stewart has a small window to prove himself.

Ipswich have lost Cajuste who was their best midfielder on loan. Obviously Philips but he was generally poor. Morsy who although old, made them tick, Burgess on a free, Delap for good money, look like losing Hutchinson. Can't have much spending power even with sales due to the spending rules after the last few windows.

They have Jack Clarke and Philogene though who are dangerous wingers. Think they signed a midfielder from France, possibly WSs old team.

Ben Sheaf Coventry last year of contract,  low wage could provide completion for downes and Charles.

I’ve just started listening to these guys and find it a really difficult listen. They sound like they hate each other.
