You’d think so - but not being left footed didn’t stop KWP playing there. Not ideal obviously though. Ryan Fraser may be tasked in that emergency. Saving the £30k pw of Taylor’s wages is quite some incentive for someone who is currently not even making squads… 1

Willo of Whiteley Posted Tuesday at 10:23 Posted Tuesday at 10:23 Finn Azaz strikers me more of a “desperate signing” rather than one we were actively targeting. Sure, his stats are ok but it doesn’t scream “well planned” and “we wanted him all along”. If we did we would’ve bid for him at the start of summer. 1 1 4

He can't really defend crosses from the opposite flank properly.

Tend to agree with you on the basis that we are a Championship club now that got relegated with the second worst season ever by a Premier league side. Attracting our no.1 targets are/were always going to be very hard. I think it is already clear we have missed out on our no.1 target which you could argue was unrealistic anyway because we were dealing with a Russian club. There is still something niggling with me about this one and i wonder if its all done!

Let's face it, we're not a club that top players will think, yeah, I'll kick up a fuss to join them. More likely is that a player won't be arsed if we enquire, and will happily sit tight if we have bids rejected in the hope a bigger club will come calling.

Signing a midfielder who scored/assisted 20 goals in the last two seasons in the league you are in is not a 'desperate signing'. It would be a stand out signing at this level! We probably couldn't get him earlier in the summer because like most players, they want to access their options and get the best possible move. So needed to wait until he didn't get a PL move. Ken Tone Posted Tuesday at 10:59 Posted Tuesday at 10:59 As always, it will probably come down to money .... wages and 'commission' to his agent He comes from Birmingham so has no attachment to Middlesborough presumably, so moving south may be a plus too.

If those six all leave and we get only the one very good attacking player incoming it’s a result in my book. 2. If 3 or 4 leave but we pick up two decent attackers that’s a good result too. 3. If only two or three leave but we pick up three decent attacking players that’s a good result also. Bad or indifferent results : 4. If only one or two leave and we only recruit one or two of our third / fourth choice type players and a desperate late loan. Knowing Saints I’d say option four is most likely, but being optimistic I’m hoping for option two on the basis that SR will not push the boat out if players have not been unloaded but if 3/4 are definitely out then they’d feel ok bringing in a couple transfers/ top loans .

The next moment there is an outcry over potentially signing a very good champ level player with a proven track record of 20+ goals/assists per season 😅.
