Yeah Mavididi and Fatawu usually tear us apart. The problem is we've got Manning who makes it even easier for them.

Might be a case for Wellington instead of Manning to stop that happening again.   Downes to replace Bragg, who will get plenty of opportunities judged on Saturday’s performance.

Was certainly hoping it would be more than 6 points though. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/new-leicester-city-points-deduction-twist-emerges/

6 points deduction would be nice though right? Means we effectively get 9 points against them when we win! 😉

Gk ,Rb & a St sill needed in January if we really wana have a go second half of the season for maybe playoffs.

And a LB and a CB (Manning and Stephens will inevitably cost us points if they continue to play).

Yeah, was hoping it would be 12 though…they’ll still be up there with just 6 knocked off.

You could be right.  I worry that we would be dominated in midfield and reduced to long balls up to Armstrong.  We’ll see.

Tonda hasn't faced a team yet that have tried to dominate midfield, which had been our undoing under Still. It will be interesting to see if he has anything up his sleeve - I'm still convinced the formation is the problem.

Watching their highlights yesterday they played v similarly to us at Charlton. Going to be an interesting tactical battle.

Completely agree with this. I know the wing backs have worked well going forward but playing 3 centre-backs compromises us elsewhere. If he's ready I'd love to see Romeu's guile deployed Tuesday night.

Very much this, previous games against Leicester have usually been a battle for midfield superiority. Both teams need it to launch attacks.

It will be a very interesting to see how Tonda plays this one. He has managed to get Azaz into the midfield pivot position., and pushed Fellows and Scienza forward a bit.

That has made a big difference, but against weaker sides. Leicester aren't weak, far from it. They'll be working hard to stop that happening. Nevertheless they have their own problems to worry about. Not least the hapless Vestergaard.

Need to get Scienza on the ball and running at Vestergaard, knock the ball past him and go , keep the ball on the floor

At least the prick that is Jamie Vardy won't score against us for the first time in what seems about 10 years.

Their fans are in a similar boat to us, we've all had similar starts to the season (Ipswich included). Very stuttering/stop start, not convincing.

Yesterday was our first convincing day of the season so far, Leicester are still stuttering along - but they are winning.

The general vibe from their fanbase is that of a negative one. They want their manager out, and they were fortunate to have Begovic in goal yesterday to stop Stoke scoring more than 1 apparently. Could just be fan emotion talking, but I haven't seen the highlights.

This isn't the same Leicester side from 2 years ago though, not anywhere near. They're more venerable through the middle without Ndidi and less potent without Vardy up top. Fatawu isn't the same after his ACL apparently in terms of mobility. In addition they'll be without LB Luke Thomas in this one who is suspended, so their thinking is the OAP Ricardo Pereira comes in at LB with Hamza Choudhary at RB.

They're gettable, and if our movement is as sharp and quick as it was yesterday then we 110% have the legs on Faes, Vestergaard, Pereira and Hamza & Skipp. There is the potential there for Leo/Fellows/Armstrong to run that 4/5 ragged.

Pereira is 32 (born in 1993)! Not really an OAP!

That was a really interesting press conference.

Tonda saying he would prepare the team for two situations.

If Leicester sat back, or if Leicester pressed.

Also said the spaces available for a Leicester formation would be completely different from Charlton.

This is going to be a really interesting match.

Why not make them worry about the likes of Leo, Fellows and AA on current form? We need to be on the front foot from the first minute. Let's put them to the sword, beat them and lay down a marker - make the rest of the Championship teams sit up and take notice.

Their centre backs are very slow and we should be looking to exploit that by playing through them on the ground and making them turn and run back towards their own goal. No high balls required because that will be food and drink to them - keep the ball on the grass.

So, we are not waltzing through this team and scoring five. But, if we can get a good defensive shape, then we have enough quality going forward to damage them, and perhaps get away with all the points.

This game will tell us a lot, not only about TE's credentials, but also how much our players have brought into his philosophy and leadership.

This is what three wins on the bounce gets you. Genuine excitement for this match.

Come on Saints, do something different.

If this happens, Eckhert deserves the job, no question. It'll be his first actual test, lets see how he fares.

Maybe it's the manner of the win against Charlton but I'm even starting to warm to his press conferences. I particularly like the way he takes a moment to think and when he replies he rarely just agrees with Adam Blackmore, you can almost see the wheels going round inside his head. He then gives an informed response and explains his thinking. Most coaches seem happy to agree with the presenter whereas Tonda nearly always prefers to put his own spin on his answers.

Home game against a mid table side - usually you’d be saying we’d expect to win. Because it’s Leicester it feels tougher on paper, they’ve not been great but will have it in them to put in a quality performance. Feel like we owe them one, and like others have said I’d like to see Leo, Arma, Fellows and/or Robinson running at Vestergaard. Midfield battle will be massive in this one, not really sure how that’ll look with TE obviously sticking to a back 3/5

He is to them looking at their forums, I think it's because he's had a couple of serious ACL injuries with them which have restricted his mobility hugely.

He is very measured in his responses which I find quite good - he is a thinker.

His response to AB about how the last 48 hours had been - “I got home on Saturday and started to watch Leicester games…” speaks volumes about the dedication and effort he will put in.

He made a brilliant save when Manhoef went clean through. Theyt were 2-0 up at that point. There was another decent save later on from a half volley shot just on the edge of the box, but it was at him and a good height. The highlights don't show any other saves.  He had no chance for their goal.

Hard to tell from highlights, but to me Leicester looked a little ponderous, but came alive a couple of of times on the break which we saw a lot in their promotion season. Mavididi's goal was a screamer, but he dithered a bit before that, which makes me wonder if he has refound his form of two season ago. I wonder if Winks will sit in that pocket of space that Armstrong used to good effect on Saturday. Nothing to fear here, but it's the kind of game we need if we are to challenge.

Does that mean he didn't know (at the time of the press conference) how Leicester play or does it mean Leicester vary how they play?

We still seem unable to cope with crosses into our box from wide positions and there'll be plenty of those tomorrow night. This has less to do with formation, more indviduals like Stephens dozing off and allowng free headers.

Almost guaranteed Leo is going to get clobbered by the big bully boys sooner rather than later as they resort to dirty tactics to try and stop him. I hope he's prepared for that and doesn't get intimidated. Leicester could be number one culprits.

Probably thinking about how Leicester could react if we take it to them. Good teams will adapt if they are under pressure and cannot get the ball forward.  let’s see if they do, how good they are and how Saints can still get at them.

What are you expecting tactically from Leicester as a team?

TE: We're going to be prepared for both a team that comes out and plays and wants to sit in. We're going to be prepared for both.

The set-up in their press is a lot different, and playing against a different shape is a lot different. I think the references on the pitch are a lot different.

The spaces are going to be somewhere else compared to Saturday. So, yes, we need to be ready for that.

He knew and was answering a question about teams that sit back. So actually having a plan B depending on how Leicester play on the day

With Manning unable to stop crosses, Stephens failing to mark players in the box and Baz in goal, it's a recipe for disaster.

No clean sheet for us is probably the safest bet anyone could ever make.

And also a match that I'm looking forward to. It's been a long time since I've genuinely been looking forward to watching us (probably West Brom play off game) play and it could be quite a season defining game. Tear Leicester apart and confidence will be sky high. Their wingers run rings around us and it'll feel we've taken a couple of steps backwards.

I will be very surprised if Leicester are as generous in their defending as Charlton were, they still have some very good experienced players. I'm expecting a very different game and they will target our useless defence and swing crosses into the box knowing that Stephens just goes missing.

This might just be a bump back down to earth after Saturdays totally unexpected performance.

He seems to have frightened Adam into being almost lost for words at times and that's saying something.

I noticed on Saturday too that he was berating one of our players after only two minutes play so he's clearly not to be messed about with. A few minutes later the camera caught him gesturing to one of his assistants that two clear chances had been missed and he did not look pleased.

It's about time our lads felt a bit intimidated and fearful of the boss rather than the all pals together approach of our recently departed Russ & Will
