His arrival just makes the Baz situation even more ridiculous. If it was muted, it's probably why no-one on here has heard. I'm sure we'll be told eventually. 2 4

trousers Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Can we now lay to rest any lingering doubts that Peretz is an upgrade and that Bazunu was costing us results...? 19

Not really, he got away with another clanger today. To be fair, he did protect his near post, first time since joining, but otherwise didn't have much to do. he is still erratic, and still targeted by opposition as a weakness. If the ref had done his job he'd be getting grief on here (or baz would have, peretz has a lot of leeway on here, same as ramsdale and even tailspin mccarthy did, for some reason... 1 18

So you failed to notice that Fulham had players in the box when we were taking a goal kick then? Or maybe you just don't know the rules. 3

saintstowin Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I thought every aspect of his game was good today - saves, kicking, distribution, claiming crosses. He's also clearly a good motivator and teammate, for example today he came a long way from his goal to encourage and support Scienza immediately after his bad miss. 3

I mean, we lost this game because of him if the ref didn't have an absolute howler 😄😅 1

SaintBobby Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Everyone is focused on the moving ball, isn't the real issue that there were several Fulham players in the box? So, even if the ball had been dead, the goal kick would have to be retaken? 2

I think Ramsdale is a quality goalie and superb at many things, but I'm not sure he has as good a command of his defence than Peretz. Peretz, to me, comes over as a more old school goalie, less about dribbling and passing, more about getting in the fking way, getting hurt, throwing himself around and bellowing at the defenders in front of him. Many managers would hate him for not being a "ball player" 🤮 but I really like this guy, a lot. IF we get promoted and are able to buy this guy and IF Ramsdale comes back (and Baz), then that would be the best goalkeeper problem we've had for as long as I can remember. 1

Saintinnot Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Isn’t this part of the rule relevant here: “If, when a goal kick is taken, any opponents are inside the penalty area because they did not have time to leave, the referee allows play to continue”

What are you like at table tennis? Your assessment of goalkeepers needs some work! 1

Was unaware of that rule. I wonder how much time you're allowed to leave? What speed are you expected to move at?
OldNick Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago I wasnt at the game but on the TV you could hear him all the time barking out instructions to players. A good influence. No doubt he will make mistakes but if he was flawless he wouldbt be with us on loan. He is an asset.

Obviously it was badly executed but there is literally ZERO controversy about that incident unless you're a mega-helmet.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 7 minutes ago Posted 7 minutes ago I thought he played well, is clearly a big character and a leader, which is exactly what we needed after The Ghost. Early on he made a routine save down to his left from a well hit shot that went through someone’s legs, exactly the type of shot Baz would have let in, or spilled at best. Excellent punch in the second half as well. Took one in the face, would Baz have spread himself like that, I doubt it. Only Baz moment was from the offside goal where he probably could have done better with the initial header. IMO, he’s not as good as Ramsdale, yet,hes getting there though. But he’s far far superior than Baz. There’s absolutely no doubt about that…
