6m fee i think was muted. Guess it'll depend of if we can shift Baz and Ramsdale. His arrival just makes the Baz situation even more ridiculous.

If it was muted, it's probably why no-one on here has heard. I'm sure we'll be told eventually.

Can we now lay to rest any lingering  doubts that Peretz is an upgrade and that Bazunu was costing us results...?

Not really, he got away with another clanger today. To be fair, he did protect his near post, first time since joining, but otherwise didn't have much to do. he is still erratic, and still targeted by opposition as a weakness. If the ref had done his job he'd be getting grief on here (or baz would have, peretz has a lot of leeway on here, same as ramsdale and even tailspin mccarthy did, for some reason...

So you failed to notice that Fulham had players in the box when we were taking a goal kick then? Or maybe you just don't know the rules.

You say that, but he/she obviously posts to get attention and/or a reaction and we oblige every single time.... ;)

Better than Ramsdale

As good as Preretz is, I think this is a stretch. Ramsdale is easily a top PL keeper ( although the ‘Big 6’ want something else or extra) not sure how Peretz would fare.

Apparently €8m.

Does that mean €8m he’s ours at the end of the season, or will he be available to others at that time?

My sources tell me Spors is relaxed about the situation and will sue Bayern if they sell him to anyone else

I thought every aspect of his game was good today - saves, kicking, distribution, claiming crosses. He's also clearly a good motivator and teammate, for example today he came a long way from his goal to encourage and support Scienza immediately after his bad miss.

I mean, we lost this game because of him if the ref didn't have an absolute howler 😄😅

I think he knew the ball was moving and just wanted to give Manning a whack for all the times he's not at left back when he should be. So very accurate.

Everyone is focused on the moving ball, isn't the real issue that there were several Fulham players in the box? So, even if the ball had been dead, the goal kick would have to be retaken?

I think Peretz overall all round game IS better than Ramsdale. I think Ramsdale is a quality goalie and superb at many things, but I'm not sure he has as good a command of his defence than Peretz.

Peretz, to me, comes over as a more old school goalie, less about dribbling and passing, more about getting in the fking way, getting hurt, throwing himself around and bellowing at the defenders in front of him. Many managers would hate him for not being a "ball player" 🤮 but I really like this guy, a lot.  IF we get promoted and are able to buy this guy and IF Ramsdale comes back (and Baz), then that would be the best goalkeeper problem we've had for as long as I can remember.

Correct.

Isn’t this part of the rule relevant here:

“If, when a goal kick is taken, any opponents are inside the penalty area because they did not have time to leave, the referee allows play to continue”

What are you like at table tennis?   Your assessment of goalkeepers needs some work!

Interesting. Was unaware of that rule. I wonder how much time you're allowed to leave? What speed are you expected to move at?

I wasnt at the game but on the TV you could hear him all the time barking out instructions to players. A good influence. No doubt he will make mistakes but if he was flawless he wouldbt be with us on loan.

He is an asset.

Yes, it was a risk-free shot at releasing someone. Obviously it was badly executed but there is literally ZERO controversy about that incident unless you're a mega-helmet.

I thought he played well, is clearly a big character and a leader, which is exactly what we needed after The Ghost. Early on he made a routine save down to his left from a well hit shot that went through someone’s legs, exactly the type of shot Baz would have let in, or spilled at best. Excellent punch in the second half as well. Took one in the face, would Baz have spread himself like that, I doubt it.  Only Baz moment was from the offside goal where he probably could have done better with the initial header.

IMO, he’s not  as good as Ramsdale, yet,hes  getting there though. But he’s far far superior than Baz. There’s absolutely no doubt about that…

The personality and energy he gives to the back line is enough of an upgrade on its own, before you get to the shot stopping. I still think he's a bit flappy and has some iffy moments, so I wouldn't be averse to looking around in the summer, but he's definitely been a step up and contributed to our recent surge. Much better than Baz

Yep, impressed that we have a keeper that communicates to the team.

Agreed he's not perfect but a definite step up in McCarthy and Bazunu.

My overall assessment so far is that he's a more than decent championship keeper and would be fine as second choice if we were to get promoted.

I really like Peretz so far, his communication and bravery appear to be his strong suits and clearly one of the reasons we have turned a corner.  When my pal tipped me off that we were interested I thought it sounded like we were getting a version of Boruc, not sure Peretz is at that level but clearly athletic and a committed character.  Watching him play over 90 minutes he kind of reminds me of an upgrade version of Kelvin Davis, and I mean that as a compliment.

he's a mini Boruc for me.

Got to be a wind up surely. The guy is in a different stratosphere to Bazunu and I wasn't a Bazunu basher by any means. Most of the highlights of the Fulham game were taken up by class saves from Peretz!

I on the other hand am well known as a regular Baz basher. I bashed the Baz at every opportunity so glad we are on the same page.
