Goal every two games for us. Scores all sorts, unbullyable and doubles up as a centre half! Top fucking target man!

What we’ve been missing since Pelle! That long…

Cyle's goals per 90 mins is 0.84 in the league, which is best in the Championship for those that have played 800+ mins.

Stewart second on the same criteria at 0.73. Simms was 0.72 and Vipotnik 0.7.

Not to claim Larin's stats would've definitely extended across a full season. But what an impact.

Anyone else starting to come around to the idea that Cyle can do well at premier league level ? I honestly couldn’t be much more impressed at the moment he may lack a bit of first touch bit he just gives you so much and most of his attributes look like they would also give prem defenders a problem too . We do need to make some striker signings shoukd we go up but at the kind of 20m budget we usually seem to stick to I’m not sure that’s even guaranteed to get better then Larin

He'd certainly make a good squad player who will do a job when needed or off the bench. As a first choice starter I think we need better and obviously would have to see who is available that we can afford.

He is a powerful player that puts himself in dangerous positions. Instinct cannot be taught. Or luck for that matter.

reminds me of Che Adams...but without the allergy to scoring.

Also he is playing himself into the world cup, before he joined Saints his chances looked remote. Now the first choice for Canada is crocked. Can any player have any more motivation that?

I don't think his chances were that remote, he's played 88 times and scored 30 goals for them.

Yeach Jesse Marsch was giving him lots of praise in the last call up and said he just needs to keep doing what he is doing.  He's probably been even better since then, i expect him to defo be in the squad.

He really had an off day today.

I'll forgive him though, given how brilliant he's been for us.

Yep. He was terrible. It happens. Although tbf we were just pumping pretty aimless balls up to him with little or no support around him, which didn't help matters.

He wilts under pressure imo 🤷

Not sure about that, he's put in some pretty good performances in big games. Coventry away, Wrexham away, Ipswich home for example. And has generally held the ball up better than Stewart since he's been here. That wasn't the case yesterday though.

Was the exact same situation at city, just a complete non event despite coming on fresh. 2 biggest games of the season and he's gone into his shell utterly. It's a question mark against him.

As for Wrexham, we should be beating those - and we won 5-1, but Larin missed 3 big chances and had a xA of 0.02. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy and think he's been very good for us in the champ, but he isn't a big game player and I sadly don't think he is going to cut it in the prem (although I hope he gets the chance and proves me wrong - obviously).

He's also perpetually offside.

Off day, but he'll come good again Tuesday.

He'll need to be much more aggressive in his battle with Dael Fry - allowed the Boro lad to bully him on Saturday.

Is it the same referee?

No but I thought he was excellent yesterday. Consistent and didn’t let players blag him. He let it flow pretty well. Of course he missed a few things but he’s not a robot and that’s part of the game.

Agree, no complaints with the way the ref handled the game.

Someone said he didn’t put in a performance against City? Fucking lol!

Given we don’t play higher than our penalty area what was he meant to do. Poor sod was defending for his life with the other ten players. 😂

He was much better tonight, pulled Fry around a bit by running the channels - rather than staying static down the middle. He's a proper pest of a CF, I'll stand by my thought in that he's not the most refined striker - but physically he has all the tools, pace, power, strength.

Looked back to normal when he came on tonight.

Held it up much better and made some good runs in behind their back line.

Just a shout out for the big man, in the training squad for world cup, Canada doing that take 32 training then declare later but fron all reports I've read they say he's defo starting up from with Jonathan David.

Stoked for the dude and happy 2 strikers who had some shit talked about them got themselves into the world cup.

I'd like to think we're in a decent position to sign Larin for next season. As long as he doesn't have a miraculous world cup like a hat trick against Bosnia or something.

Mallorca should be happy to sell as they've just been relegated

Or West Ham come along!

From what Ive read today, West Ham have got some serious cash issues. Still owe  about 130m ( I could be a little off with that figure) approx for players bought last transfer windows

130M due over what period of time? Might be ok for a season and 130M could be covered by the sale of a few like we did, Fernandes seems in demand

Their wage bill will be one of the biggest ever seen in the Championship I'd imagine, even with a relegation reduction in players contracts. They are going to have to offload a few, that's for sure.

Lucky for them we, the tax payers, help fund their stadium.

I'd feel a lot better about next season if we had him and Stewart under contract.

This would be amazing.
