Edmonton Saint Posted Sunday at 23:09 Posted Sunday at 23:09 Need to keep the momentum going , so changes at a minimum. Stephens back in for Wood? Charles for Jander ? Stewart to start up top ?

Would bring in Charles and Matsuki (for Fellows as I think he might melt going back to West Brom). 3
JohnnyShearer2.0 Posted Sunday at 23:57 Posted Sunday at 23:57 Just hope the players dont turn up too gassed after today. Don't want to go into that game and not have the energy to turn play. 1
Micky Posted Monday at 01:36 Posted Monday at 01:36 Big game for both sides. First goal could be crucial, if we get it their fans could turn toxic, if they get it, it'll give them something to hang on to in the fight against the drop. I just hope the players recover well after today and are ready to go again on Wednesday. It'll be interesting to see if there are any glitches with the new electronic ticketing system as well. 1
musesaint Posted Monday at 08:46 Posted Monday at 08:46 Pretty much every game for the remainder of the season is massive at this stage. This is a must win game - but it will be tricky given that this is the first home game for West Brom after a change of manager. 2
Pamplemousse Posted Monday at 08:51 Posted Monday at 08:51 Wrexham v Hull on Tuesday as well, so if we do win, we'll definitely make up ground on at least one of the teams above us. I think Hull will drop out, there's always one team who has a late collapse. 1

I think Hull's position is already somewhat false, due to the six points we gifted them thanks to being so utterly abysmal in both those games. 8

Wrexham will beat Hull, We could do with Millwall beating Derby too, we aren't catching them but Derby are the other biggest threat to the top 6 2

We definitely need to improve our finishing to get some of these away wins, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham we got the job done despite missing several very good opportunities. There's more tickets on sale now for anyone who fancies going. First time an away game is digital tickets so don't need to wait for post it will just appear in your saints ticket app 1
Hodds37 Posted Monday at 09:57 Posted Monday at 09:57 Bit annoying they have suddenly put up new batch of tickets again. would prefer to stand but only seated were available for the last 2 weeks when booked. 1

Chez Posted Monday at 12:54 Posted Monday at 12:54 Away at WBA, midweek, desperately need a win. Getting slight 2005 vibes. 2

You'll still be able to stand, just means there isn't a bit of scaffolding in front of those seats. Failing that just move when you get there. Will be loads of space.

My concern is i still haven't got over the Blackburn/ Norwich/ Oxford defeats who were all in a similar position to what WBA are in now, hopefully our tactics and confidence levels have evolved sufficiently since then 1

Its annoying habit they seem to have, ticket office say they need to sell blocks in order decided by home club, which is fine, but as one block sells out they are so slow releasing the next (in this case last block sold out Friday afternoon, nothing new on sale until this morning)

trousers Posted Monday at 19:41 Posted Monday at 19:41 Without wishing to be the party pooper, and whilst I do feel we've 'turned a corner' under Tonda, being a Saints fan of yore, I can't help but suspect there's at least one more inexplicably lackluster performance to come before the end of the season, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was this match. So, with my reverse psychology hat on, I'm going for a 1-0 win to WBA. You can thank me later 1

Yesterday gave us the perfect result without giving everyone cause to be over-optimistic. There is definitely room for improvement up front. 1

OneMrsWallace Posted Monday at 20:37 Posted Monday at 20:37 Can't underestimate WBA. A good professional Saints performance gets this done, probably by the odd goal. 3
SNSUN Posted Monday at 22:57 Posted Monday at 22:57 Their form below. They've only won 4 games since October and none since December. They're really only in with a shout of survival because they have drawn a fair few. Yes they got rid of their manager but they're in trouble. I've grown up with Saints doing Saintsy things but I'm quietly confident we win this. 3-1. 3
Pancake Posted yesterday at 09:12 Posted yesterday at 09:12 Can see this being a stodgy 0-0. We’ll be knackered after the weekend.

Coventry though seems more likely as where we'll slip up. Not too much of an issue as Wrexham still have to play them as well. In fact their final two games are Coventry and Middlesbrough... I have a lot of time for West Brom, decent club with decent fans, I hope (after Wednesday) they turn things around and stay up. Preferably at Leicester or Portsmouth's expense. 2

We are over that minimum at least and did manage minutes for some players. Charles and Stephens rested completely. Far from ideal though. Think we will start: Peretz Bree THB Stephens Manning Downes Charles Matsuki Azaz Leo Stewart There is an argument for Larin to start saving Stewart for Saturday but we need to take one game at a time. 3

Agree with this. I’d definitely start Stewart and bring Larin on later. He doesn’t look fit, think he’d get more joy against a tiring defence 1
Barton Saint Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I would be surprised if Leo started following his clattering on Sunday. Larin is fit just look at his run in both halves to get on the end of crosses! Again though he got battered on Sunday.

He’s fit enough for the occasional burst because he spends 95% of the game stood still or walking between those bursts. Absolutely zero pressing from the front. His hands were on his knees after about 20 minutes in front of the saints end on Sunday, gassed. He causes a bit of a nuisance but his touch is pretty shit and he’s way off the pace for me, Stewart is twice the player 1
benjii Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I would do: Peretz Bree THB Stephens Manning Charles Bragg Matsuki Azaz Edozie Larin Still a strong team but freshens up midfield and wings. I would certainly try to get away without playing Downes, as a yellow would put him out of Cov and Norwich, I think. 2

Lighthouse Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I'd play our best team. There's no point weakening just to keep players available for Coventry, which isn't an especially important game. Wrexham, Derby, Bristol and possibly Preston are the six pointers we need to be winning. 1

I'm going because that's one of the most important games of the run in. Win that game and our confidence will be sky high (pun not intended!). But first, let's win this midweek game. Can see Stewart starting and hopefully Charles is back.

Would have thought winning games against teams above us was particularly important, not that dropping points against relegation candidates wouldn't be seen as a failure. To be fair every win, every point is crucial now, so I do agree that weakening a successful team is not the way to go now.

Dr Who? We will not win. I also do not think we will win on Saturday, but all is not lost as we have a good run in and we will make the playoffs.
LiberalCommunist Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago WBA have just slipped into the relegation places.
