Boro vs Saints - Saturday 12.30pm - 1st leg

They've been trying to whip their fans into a frenzy all week up there, this has taken it to the next level and the SFC team bus is now guaranteed a hostile welcome. Shoddy on our part if truth but if all turns out to be 'boro lead hoax it probably won't come to light until after and would have had the desired effect on spicing this up.

Whatever happens up there, we need to give it back with interest on Tuesday.

And I always quite liked Bob Mortimer too.

Right! That's the last time I'm going dogging in Middlesbrough.

Is that because the only other person to turn up was a hate filled Saintsweb member?

Agreed, some dirty tricks going on here and a few things dont add up. They say video and photos were deleted, how can they be sure they had been taken in the first place.

They clearly wanted the story out in the public to whip up their fans, they're all foaming at the mouth now with pitchforks at the ready. Hopefully our team and fan coaches get an escort through , can see all sorts going on like Swansea away a few years back.

That’s my reading of it too.

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well on the eve of the first leg of the play-offs.

With just a few hours to go before kick-off, especially with something as crucial as a place in the next round at stake, it’s understandable that the tension is running high.

I’ve heard about this ‘Spygate’ business and, to be honest, I think it’s more of an attempt to unsettle Boro than a true story.

For me, if the club had really done that, we might have thought the staff didn’t have faith in their players to beat this team, but we haven’t gone 19 games unbeaten for nothing. Boro can set up however they like; our players will get the job done as they know so well how to do.

Another thing: why aren’t the media publishing a photo of the culprit? Or naming the person who allegedly did this? You can accuse anyone of anything if no evidence is provided – that’s easy.

And then, if it turns out to be true, Boro could very well change their tactics at the last minute or switch their training venue to a closed facility with no spectators.

Does Boro really have peace of mind? Do they too have confidence in their players? Is this a tactic to put pressure on our players and our staff?

Friends, personally, I have confidence in you, in Tonda, in the players, and I have no doubt that Southampton will get the job done tomorrow and in the return leg.

Let’s stay focused!

With you, Saint's friends !

Why did the culprit need to go into a nearby hotel toilet to change? Was he in full camouflage gear?

If the team can arrive at 10am or before they will miss the pitchforks and get more time at the stadium. Not sure what the plans are for lunchtime kick offs. Breakfast at the hotel I suppose then on to the ground, but we just need to arrive a little earlier to miss and nuckledragging locals who think it will be funny to throw a brick 🧱

There won't be any punishment beyond a fine. It's far too late to affect the league standings.

Oh I know but there will be if it comes to light we have wronged.

Seems a strange thing to make up though if they don't have proof. Surely he'd be all over CCTV? I reckon it's pretty likely to be true.

Seeing as they're all out early for their coach I can definitely see ours coming under attack. Though given the stadium layout we could easily approach from the other side and not go over that bridge.

Can't wait for this now, properly spiced it up.

Do you think that players (on either side) could be any more motivated than they already should be?

I'm also not sure that watching a training session could tell you much more than watching videos of their previous 46 matches.

Which is why it was a stupid thing to do. Will probably cost us a lot of money for probably no benefit.

At least the weather forecast means all their little weirdos will get absolutely soaked whilst doing all their funny flare shit.

Does the sun ever fucking shine up there by the way? 21 and sunny here tomorrow, fucking 11 degrees and pouring down up there. Grim.

3 step guide to rattle some geordie wannabes.

Step 1 - sign their “worst” player

Step 2 - charge them more for tickets

Step 3 - Spy on their training.

Step 4 , call people from Teeside Geordies. They hate that nearly as much as people from Sunderland.

Why didn’t they just fly a drone over the training ground? Not much you can do about that!

My thoughts too. The tech/spy department at SMS really needs to up it's game.

All a bit stupid really - looks like we got there to late (24 hours max) given the 72 hour time frame.

Can anyone vouch for the whereabouts of @Pilchards yesterday morning?

If I remember rightly he was the one who got himself into a position to provide a running text commentary one of Pardew's sessions

All I remember is someone being up a tree outside a training ground and lots of talk of Deep Clapping

Either spy costumes or camouflage in the away end then.. !

We have our yellows replacement

CAMO ! CAMO ! CAMO !

I honestly think if we’d been caught spying on the skates training they’d have been less annoyed that this lot.

There's loads of them online calling for us to be kicked out of the play offs, all getting a bit desperate and weird

That’s what happens when you finish 5th in a 2 horse race, you lose all sense of reality.

Had to change out of his Saints tracksuit before driving home 😉

Depends if they have a no fly zone or not, for some clubs having the training ground near an airport or prison is a god send as you can't do anything. There was a report a few years back that one club installed anti jamming technology just in case someone tried!

I would find it difficult to believe that Tonda had anything to do with this nonsense. It is clearly being taken seriously though and the repercussions could be serious. What is certainly true is that we have already lost the neutral support because of this story. We have basked in the praise of the media recently. It will be sad to lose that.

If it was made up SFC would have put out a statement denying it by now

Getting back to the match I wonder if Tonda might pick a formation similar to the one that played so well at Coventry. Larin was up front on his own and we loaded the midfield to provide him with support and to stop Coventry playing through us. It was a superb performance and Boro will look to play as opposed to setting up defensively.

Indeed. Let's face it, the only reason this odd little story has come up is to try to liven up their fanbase for tomorrow, in my opinion anyway.

None of the Prem clubs fan bases want us primarily because we’ve stunk the league out twice in three seasons and as you say others want Millwall, probably just for shits and giggles.

I find it harder to believe that Tonda wouldn't know. Matey taking a day off two days before the game deciding to go on break league rules on his own seems incredibly unlikely.

Just say that he was looking for an escaped capybara. By the time Middlesbrough have found out what that means the new season will have started.

Looking over all this 'spy' bollo on social media it is clear that Middlesbrough and their crying fanbase are absolutely shitting themselves.  Good, cry harder melts, I hope we absolutely batter them now!

Love the clickbait way he’s written that headline - “Behind closed doors move for play-off second leg” - as if it’s a recognised sanction that the authorities might be considering, when in fact the only person ‘moving’ for it is him and the twats he’s riling up online 🤣

Indeed, what a complete wanker!

Slightly surprised there has been no statement from the club. Even if its simply to deny all knowledge of this. Would love it if we accused boro of playing silly bollocks.
