After another restless fever dream sleep, cheers SFC, I was thinking what could the fallout be from our expulsion. Personally I think the punishment excessive, (I know others think we deserve it), but nevertheless we are where we are.

Without trying to catastrophise too much here,  we go  for starters:

Reputational damage

P&O Cruises / sponsorships

The young supporters, the ones we are trying to get interested in the local side.

Player Exodus

Saints foundation

Season ticket sales / memberships

local business and hospitality

Corporate packages

Ongoing legal actions / class actions

Good will (evaporation thereof)

it’s going to be a long road back!

Get the right manager in early, have a decent start, all will be largely forgotten by the Saints fan base.

However, another Will still, Nathan Jones, Ruben Selles, Ivan Juric, Gavin Bazunu, Damion Downs....and it will not be forgotton

Odds-on, SR will fuck it all up (again)

Woke up this morning feeling same as last night, we will not be renewing our season tickets until this ownership and everyone involved in the football side of the business has gone

Next seasons Championship is looking tasty though. Burnley and Wolves will do well, West Ham could go either way, Wrexham, Brum and Norwich will be up there. 6 teams in the playoffs as well, could be a mad season if we don't waste half of it.

Plus grudge matches with Pompey and Boro

With Eckert still in charge ... I can see it now ... 😂

Looking forward to the really testing questions at the next fans forum. About physical season tickets etc.

Count me surprised, but if these idiots are still in power, they will avoid any public forums. When the going gets tough they hide. They only come out bleating when something has gone well.

The decent players would have gone whether we lost or not. The rest will be on decent contracts and aren’t swapping contracts with a team that pays less. Sponsorships who knows? But as they say even bad o publicity is good publicity.

Correct manager with a decent “project story” and the players will come. I think it will be bumpy but manageable if dealt correctly.

Season ticket sales will be down but most will be back after a few wins early doors whilst the real fans sing “where were you when we were shit”

all it will take is putting 11 decent players out on the pitch. The champs is shit and so won’t be that hard.

You mean Spurs right? 😁🤞

They are surprisingly brittle - I felt they only really gave up on Will Still when the crowd started singing "Sport Republic get out of our club".

I always thought Serbian's called Dragan were more like this

Premier League in May 2027 - "Oh shit, they're coming. Update all the rules and hire the best lawyers!"

There's a bit of a thought that the club uses this entire charade as fuel and 'anger' in the right way, to put right what they feel is unjust on the football pitch - But I just don't feel that is going to happen for us. let's be honest - We're too weak. We'll spend the next 6 weeks sat in silence dawdling.

No, the football gods are cruel and won't let us have this

Time is a great healer

The club need to tidy up, refund fans and sack folk

Then let the players have their holidays and have a break, or go to the world cup

The cheat tag will fade over time. Every club has their skeletons. Hull could easily have beaten us anyway, and if we win the first game next season we are almost back on parity

One thing we can absolutely guarantee with these helmets in charge, is they will find a new way to fuck it all up 😂

More likely they'll tease us for a few minutes with West Ham and Everton early goals before taking it away from us again.

Much like when we scored early against Man U on the last day of our Prem relegation season in 2005. I think we were "safe" for about 9 minutes.

I get we're expecting lots of players to leave.

But barring any contractual problem resulting from legal situation; someone still has to buy them. And we aren't forced to just accept any offer that comes along. We should be able to get decent money.

Might be sensible to bring in a man-of-the-people manager, a Neil Warnock type, for a season to help our extenal perception.

Roy Hodgson please.

This felt worse than any relegation, but... most of the players mentioned as possibly leaving are on contracts, and will attract good money if they go, and, we still have parachute payments. My own feeling is that Tonda should not be hung out to dry. He is a young manager who has made a mistake, I'd guess he wasn't aware of the rule. The last thing we need now is a witch hunt. If we stick together, we can turn this round next season.

We can keep Tonda* or we can keep the team together.  We can't have both.

*FA bans permitting.

Well, that is absolute bollox for a start.

Tonda has to go - for one thing I expect he will get a suspension from football for at least a year - along with anyone else that was directly involved in the spying/cheating or new about it.

For another I think the relationship between the players and Tonda is probably broken beyound repair - although most of them will leave.

But more importantly I think the trust or support of the fans in Tonda has completely gone.

Tonda had (has?) a promising career, and I agree, I suspect he was unaware of the rule and didn't necessarily see it as an issue. As we all know, it's pretty common practice particularly across Europe.

However, unfortunately for him, it was his job to make sure he knew stuff like this. A victim to some extent of his own success and being thrown in at the deep end.

ITK??

Because he was an assistant manager for 2 seasons, in this league, after the Bielsa incident and subsequent rule changes

If we had lost to Boro there is a chance that the 'Spying' may have been lost in the passage of time.

Similarly if the dice rolled in our favour and we had made the second automatic spot there would have been no need to 'spy' on Boro unless Ipswich made a fuss.

All 'IFS' and 'Maybe's' though.

Borough wouldn't have filed a complaint.  They'd have put it away until next season.

Someone was talking about Ben Garner on another thread and it got me thinking about Ryan Garner. Poor fucker has got his big title fight coming up at St Mary’s in a couple of weeks and was probably hoping the saints family would turn out and it’d be as much a boxing event as a promotion party .

Will probably affect ticket sales and atmosphere with the level of apathy we’re all feeling.

Feel similarly.  And with my back,  can hardly manage to walk away anyway nowadays! 😉
