Willo of Whiteley Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I mean punishment has been largely served on all front now, and after it was dished out the only people that stood by it were the EFL and Middlesbrough fans, board and local journos. Everyone else said how ridiculous and harsh it was and they’ve since put a cork in it. Everyone’s over it now. 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) to what extent of a stadium ban is too long? As in, we will have to get a new manager I reckon anything more than 6 games myself.... Edited 6 hours ago by AlexLaw76 1

Ban from all football activity is a different matter obviously.

If anything is given of that length it would be all football activity I'm sure. Not sure there's ever been a touchline only ban for that length of time. I'm really not that arsed about a touchline ban of 6-10 games, not sure it'll make a huge difference. As long as he's back for the skates. Edited 5 hours ago by EssEffCee
Pamplemousse Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This is the most severe case of the breach of Rule E3 I can find where a substantial ban was handed down - Peter Beardsley was banned for seven months from all footballing activity https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/sep/19/peter-beardsley-banned-football-seven-months-racist-language

Racism is a way worse crime that what Tonda did. Orient manager got this for going nuts at a game in April. 3 charges again. who knows what he will get 😅 Edited 4 hours ago by skintsaint
obelisk Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This saga becomes more ridiculous by the day. A spot of scouting leads this sorry saga? It doesn't even come near to some of the cheating seen in the world cup. Anything more than a suspended ban bu the FA blazers would be completely over the top and should be challenged hard. 5

coalman Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The problem is FIFA dished out a 12 month ban for spying at the Olympics. The FA may decide to align with that. We've already been hit with the upper end of punishments by the EFL and there's nothing an official likes more than beating down someone who can't fight back (ie not one of the big boys) 1

saint michael Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) What did pardew get for head butting that player on touchline that time. … sorry just found it he got a 7 match suspension for a serious breach Edited 3 hours ago by saint michael

Saint Marky Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago What if Tonda was actually on the spectrum and had some form of autism, where he couldn’t contain his uncontrollable urge to pursue perfection at any cost? Would the FA be frothing at the mouth so much to make an example of him then, we’ve been punished enough, fuck the FA.

Shame we don't still have MLT or SRL playing as we could get them off red cards for learning difficulties. 1

Mr X Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I still don't get how he could have been an assistant manager and still not aware of spying rules I don't believe his apology came from the heart tbh.... What's done is done and looks like he won't be managing us at least for this season... Do they want him so much they will appoint a temporary manager from within for a season 2
Hamwic Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Times today says 'There has been no similar case involving an individual in English football'. Didn't Bielsa at Leeds do something very similar a few years ago?

Spying wasn’t against the EFL rules at the time but he was still in breach of the rules of proper conduct.
SW5 SAINT Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This morning on LBC Radio Ian Payne was expressing incredulity, and saying haven’t they ( Southampton ) been punished enough. Ian is a well respected sports commentator…..

Slap him with a fine, some training courses and a suspended ban if you must but don’t make the players, fans and employees of SFC suffer anymore than they already have. trousers Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Anyone know how long we could legitimately string out the appeal process by? Maybe that's what the club is relying on if he gets a substantial footballing ban? In other words... 6 month ban.... String the appeal out for the whole of the season.... Get promoted.... Then install another manager for the premier league campaign.... #clutchingatstraws

If they think Tonda is that good and the best man to lead us would they seek an interim manager for the duration of any possible ban? A Roy Hodgson type appointment that Bristol City made for instance (no I’m not saying bring Hodgson in before anyone jumps on it)?

sandwichsaint Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago I would suggest banned for four match days and warned as to future conduct would be proportionate. Anything bigger than that would have a disproportionate affect on the club, the club has already had their punishment and that was huge. 3

I don't.

Yes and to quote Simon Jordan of all people, why would you shoot yourself in the foot by sacking a manger you obviously rate very highly?
