That was an absolute rollacoaster, i really didn't see us winning today.

Hell of a performance from Peretz and a great rearguard defence from the team. Congratulations to the lads. The West Ham commentary team on my live stream were hilarious to listen to as they got more and more irate.

Whew. Glad they didn't get that last corner. Not that they got much from the ton of them they got before then.

We raced off the blocks to get our lead. That was playing some nice passing, that West Ham couldn't deal with. With no Larin, we hadn't much in the box. But Matsuki, Dobbin and Azaz look to either set each other up, or make sure they are following in.

They all do that from Leo's efforts too. And Dobbin seems happy to have longer range efforts too, which is a plus to keep defences on their toes.

Bree and Manning deliver different attacking threats. I've always liked Bree. So, I'm pleased to see another super goal from him.

We didn't exactly stop West Ham having decent efforts, when we dropped back. They had very strong spells. Peretz gets MOM for keeping us in it. That wasn't helped by our subs coming on, without a clear plan or the form to do much with it. Edozie has done more in other games he's been criticised in. Mubama did very little again.

A very good test that we can celebrate getting all 3 points from. 6th (but would be second)

Very good summary mate, bit nervy at times and we just hung in together at crucial times in the halves, probably going to take a couple of weeks to grow the nails back..................COYS.

What's it like to have an outstanding goalkeeper eh? Peretz brilliant today.

Great result. Always fear the comeback when we sit off teams and try to protect a lead - we lack a clear outlet when everyone sits so deep and it just invites pressure back on.

Azaz solid again. Stephens did well. Dobbin played well and had tons of energy. Matsuki looked off his game after getting that knock. Thought Mubama should have come on earlier - the minute Dobbin got carded. Unfair to criticise him - he had virtually no time to do anything except try to hold the ball up the park which he did alright with. Bree goal just brilliant.

With a lesser goalkeeper that would have been a draw or even a loss.

Good result, first half took our chances and defended well.

Carried on in the second half.

Hopefully Dobbin has some confidence now to get some more. All the subs did a job when they came on.

Peretz MOTM for me.

Unbelievable result without 2 of our stand out players.

Peretz showing why he’s a top Keeper, 2 strong centre halves ( Jack has been superb since his return), full backs particularly Bree excellent. Prowse had an excellent game, and we got away with playing Jander, but he did get stronger as the game wore on.

Matsuki was ok, his goal moved his performance up a bit as I thought his all round play wasn’t quite at the level. Finn good again and Dobbin had his best game by a mile.

Subs all contributed in various ways, even if it was only for a minute or 2 in the City lads case.

The only disappointment was Leo, missed a couple of pretty easy chances (luckily we banged in the rebounds) and gave the ball away way too easily when we were under the cosh. Continuation of his lacklustre start to the season.

Good point about the players we had missing.  Makes the result even more impressive.

Brilliant result Dobbins best game by a country mile! 3 goals away from home. What’s not to like?

Think some posters on here need to have just a little bit more confidence in your team. 😉

Good luck with that. 1970 was my first game. Thats a bloody long time having zero confidence that we can hang on to anything less than a 4 goal lead.😀

Interestingly. Boro have the exact same amount of points at this stage than they did last year. Even with the minus 4 we have three more than Ipswich did at this stage. We have 8 more than we did last season at this stage even with the points deduction and double without it.

How did Manning do up against Bowen?

Ok ish, didn’t get much help from Leo though. They looked dangerous second half of the first half down that flank. But better when Wellington came on. Another day, we’d concede 3 or 4 more, like last week wasn’t our day, today really wasn’t theirs.

If we finish within 1 place of them, we’ll go up automatically imo.

They've been pretty fortunate with their fixtures too.

Got the rub of the green today that we didn't get against Bolton. Took our chances well when we got them.

Stunner from Bree and really pleased to see Dobbin get one. He looks to be increasing in confidence and he was very decent today. Schlotterbeck and Stephens also both fought hard, and Matsuki put in a real shift before he ran himself into the ground.

Annoying that Wellington shit out of the tackle for their second goal. That ball was his to win, him bottling out of it made the last few minutes much nervier than they should have been.

But Peretz showed the difference it makes having a proper keeper. With someone else in goal we could have conceded five or six. A brilliant, brave performance from him that won the game.

Very well, the bigger issue was KWP getting forward too easily.

KWP was outstanding today, as was Bree for that matter - a great day for both RBs.    Appreciated KWP' muted goal celebration, he will always be a favourite former Saint.

I like this, but I think it is fair to say that our unbeaten run last season was partly due to a deep squad of quality players with few injuries. Our squad isn't so deep this time around; but then we have more experience and presumably confidence...

I'm hopeful but it will be tough to achieve autos with the -4.

Doing the double over West Ham, Middlesborough and Millwall would go a very long way to securing an autos spot

Scienza is a classic Brazilian winger isn't he. As fantastic as he can be attacking wise, he doesn't like to do much defensively.

What a fabulous performance, a real statement win. 3 2 was probably fair but Saints bossed that 2nd half. It's so refreshing to have a team that looks to control the game.

Strangely West Hams subs weakened them. Our midfield suddenly seemed to get more control.

Excellent game from Dobbin, he's giving us an alternative to Larin, which is what we need.

Jander grew into the game and JWPs work rate was phenomenal.

I was 2000 feet up and half a mile from the pitch, so no real idea on MoTM. Either Stephens or Schlotterbeck probably, although Brees goal was a belter.

Can't comment on Peretz, it was blur up on God's, no idea.

That will have seriously dented West Ham's confidence. Hopefully do the same to QPR and West Brom.

Canary Wharf is a bit posh

I dedicate my emoji to your post to Minsk, the perspective setter when I thought some teams were better than they actually were.

We only just missed out last time and having eight more points at this stage (maybe more at some point) means we can afford to not be quite as good from January. We also have the January window to strengthen the squad. I'd like another winger ideally and a striker obviously.

Great that we held on there. A really good game but certainly a nerve jangler to watch as a Saint.

We could have scored more, but so could they.

Peretz super, and I thought JWP worked his absolute socks off too.

Awful weather, great fucking win.

Excellent result where we weren’t really fancied for it. As someone else says just got to do it in the more mundane matches where teams just look to frustrate us.

But no denying that Tonda does have a good knack of getting something extra from the players when needed.

What a statement result, we absolutely look like we rise to the bigger matches.

We all view that unbeaten run with hindsight, able to rotate players in and out a lot (from memory) but ultimately it is the results we look back on.

If today's excellent shift and elements of his game against Bolton is Dobbin replacing the goal and play of Stewart then on a small sample I would expect us to maintain the top2 conversation, our points tally ignoring the minus 4 suggests we will.

We won today without : Larin, Downes, Fellows doing anything. Edozie off the bench had little chance when backs against the wall and a relatively weak end product from Scienza.

Last season we rotated Charles (JWP) Stewart (Dobbin) Fellows (Fellows) and Archer (Mubama) in and out for fixtures. The players in brackets have so far in 12 games convinced that they can match those from last year, and we only need to match it as we had such an awful start (worse than the minus 4!).

we are bang on the 2PPG for autos without the deduction, let's see if 88 is enough this year....

I know what you mean. But in terms of playing time, it's really just a "fit" Stewart who could fill in for Larin, that we're missing.

Charles replaced by JWP; THB for Schlotterbeck; Archer by the more positionally versatile Dobbin.

So, not too bad.
