Yup, looks like life is going to get tough for me, I have the 20th of Dec to Jan 5th booked off and was hoping to put my feet up and get some beer down my neck. If its anything like last year though i expect they will revoke it and i'll end up trudging around white fields trying not to fall down ditches. OttawaSaint Posted 21 November, 2010 Share Posted 21 November, 2010 Layers folks, layers. We typically get into the -20s here but it is pretty comfortable outside if you dress properly, gloves, woolly hat (toque), scarf etc. Put you hand in your gloves when they are warm (i.e. inside the car/house etc). One week a year we get into the -30s and that is pretty damn cold, the wind alone makes the skin n your face feel raw and you get the feeling that the hairs in your nose are freezing... Seaford Saint Posted 21 November, 2010 Share Posted 21 November, 2010 I bought myself a jacket called the Incinerator by Berghaus after last year at St Mary's when I really got cold. The wind inside the stadium is a killer. I wore it yesterday over a thin jumper and a tee shirt and I was very warm indeed . The benefits of Down and Primaloft in one jacket, the Incinerator Insulated Jacket is the ultimate Berghaus protection against the cold and damp. The Incinerator Jacket comprises an elasticated box baffled 90/10 Grey Goose Down inner with Primaloft Sport (60g) synthetic insulation over the top and a Pertex Endurance outer. The results are an incredibly warm yet breathable Insulated Jacket that will perform in the harshest of environments, exactly what you need when you’re several hundred feet up on a belay ledge, setting up a high altitude base camp or snuggling down in that emergency snowhole.
