Correct. Their one and only time before Howe. Redknapp had been banging on about it for years, so funny how he’s now forgotten. The best thing about their recent success is it eclipse anything Redknapp did and Howe has nicked his Mr Bournemouth tag. Just wish someone would take his mayor of Sandbanks title off him , because as a Poole resident having that cockney twat appear every time the town is mentioned pisses me off. He’ll turn up anywhere, even opened the new toilets in Hamworthy last year.

‘Them new toilets are triffic. People in Hamworthy are having the time of their lives with these. Honestly, I’ve just used them and that’s the best number two I’ve had since Kevin Bond’

The final straw for me was during lockdown The Echo sent a photographer out to Sandbanks to show him and Sandra clapping the NHS. I mean, seriously ?

I have been guilty of only noting Eddie Howe's failings in the transfer market but reading the above twitter thread suggests that perhaps he isn't that bad after all. Even Man City have probably had to spend the best part of a billion on their defenders in the last five years. It is odd in that previously proven players like Begovic and Defoe didn't work out, but for others like Ibe, Clyne, Wilshere, they were already shown to be struggling at their previous clubs so there was obviously a risk to take them on in the first place. To me it looked like he would have been fine to deliver at Championship level as he clearly has an eye for a bargain... an actual wheeler-dealer unlike another sensitive local resident. Maybe if he doesn't turn up at Palace, perhaps he is an outside bet for a Director of Football.

Who will replace him?

Sol Campbell is available and ticks a lot of boxes

Chris Houghton would probably get them back up I n a couple Of seasons

David James wants to get into management

or Les Ferdinand might fancy it after coaching and director of football at QPR

I see what you’re doing here.

Not going to happen but Gerrard walking out of Ibrox to go to second tier Bournemouth would be absolutely hilarious, just for the jock meltdown. The green side couldn't handle the idea that Leicester was a bigger draw than Glasgow so would love to see this one play out.

Talking to Bournemouth supporters locally there has always been the general feeling that Eddie has his favourites and if you fall out with him then God help you. Didn’t Boruc suffer because he flew to Glasgow to watch his team play Rangers in the Champions League?

His treatment of Defoe was a mystery. He often had him on the bench and was reluctant to play him which given he was a natural goal poacher was crazy.

Stinks of him not wanting to be there, unless he wants to keep his astronomical wages.

Now means they won't get any compensation when he joins someone else.

Did well to get them up, but always found it weird he's never been properly linked to a better job. He's well known in the football circles for being a pretty poor man manager which maybe has something to do with it.

I wonder if Souness will renew his season ticket he is always on about on Sky, with Bompey next year?

No but Saints might be getting a new customer out of it 😆

I could give him a lift, he only lives about 10 mins away from me.

Gerrard's the new flavour of the month, getting linked with all vacant jobs. Bristol City linked for a couple of weeks before journos moved on.

you will probably be aware then, that Howe has recently moved into a new House at CC also, even more reason for him (Howe) not to move too far.

I am because there has been an issue with some artificial turf he had put down in his garden 😉

So much for going in a new direction. All the same faces, still an old boys club of Eddie's mates.

Strikes me as an appointment from a club who aren't really sure what they want. I'm sure Tindall will be cheaper than getting a manager with any experience though.

Won't finish the season is my prediction.

Yes it kind of pisses all over that new direction line.

That’s a hell of a gamble, I assumed Tindall would go with Howe where ever he goes next.

I did too. I wander if Howe wants time out of the game and Tindall didn't want to hang around. Either way, the appointment feels to be a cheap and unambitious choice.

A dirt cheap appointment so that Demin doesn't need to dip into the Ake and parachute money, most of which will he'll siphon off in some way or other.

I'd feel sorry for Bournemouth, we've been there as well, but their fans have such huge chips on their shoulders / talk shit about Saints so much.
