Would clearly be a Lumley replacement so would be fine as a third choice.

or second choice if we keep Bazunu

in other non-Saints news, Bournemouth lost another one of their better players. Pressure on them to get it right with the reinforcements. We have a good left back they may want in Manning. 😏

Talking of which, I see BBC gossip says Sunderland are interested in Caleta-Car. Forgotten all about him.  That's another off the payroll

He’s been gone for two years mate 😂

If thats the calibre of player that Sunderland are signing then they may as well raise the white flag. Already lost their best player as well

I’d forgotten they’d been promoted and was doubting if he’d be a decent signing for a promotion chasing Championship side.

It's not a proper transfer thread in my book until someone asks if we've signed Rudi Skacel yet ;)

Transfer thread check list:

1. Rudi Skacel
2. Martin O'Neil's house in Winchester
3. Ex-players bound to return due to their undying love of the club (JWP, Ings, etc.)
4. Promes, and other missed targets (De Pedro, Piper etc.)
5. Oliver Bierhoff

What am I missing?

Alpine Saint having a meltdown because we haven't made any marquee signings yet, despite the fact it's still only mid-June.

Decent scoring record in Belgium... but Paul had the same.

Same stature as Armstrong, might as well keep him rather than this Belgique guy.

I like the rumour that Saints have rejected a bid for Sulemana that seems better than some on here think he is worth. Hopefully we will manage to get an even better deal!

Yes, it is a risk, but hopefully Spors knows what he is doing.

I think Sulemana's performances at the end of the season are enough to suggest that there is more waiting to be discovered with him. Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen.

Personally, I have found Sulemana hugely disappointing, but those performances at the end of the season have begun to change my mind. I recognise that some of you do not think it possible that he could ever amount to anything more and that is fair enough with what we have seen throughout most of his time with Saints.

At the same time, I also think it is quite hard to judge Sulemana's end product when he has had to deal with a complete lack of quality strikers to whom he could pass the ball! Even more so in a system that has been set up by managers who don't have a clue about fast, incisive attacking football!

Of course, we can only judge Sulemana on the end product that he has delivered (which is nothing), but I do hope that Atalanta or others might see the positives and be prepared to stump up the cash to buy him!

Unfortunately it's not Spors handling the outgoings, Dragan confirmed that Rasmus is dealing with all outgoing transfers. So I think we can safely say on that one, that no, Rasmus doesn't know what he's doing.

To be fair to the guy it was by all accounts he who got £50m for Lavia which now seems pretty good, especially as the bidding there started at almost half of that according to reports.

Sounds like Atalanta genuinely want Sulemana so no point just accepting their first offer - literally nobody in football would do that.

If we end up getting around £20m for Onuachu and Sulemana then its a pretty good outcome compares to what would have been likely last summer.

Juric playing Sulemana regularly and him showing people he can play 90mins back to back without injury has created a market for him - the best thing Juric did for us.

2nd best thing would be convincing Atalanta to spaff millions of Pounds on the headless wonder

Should add:

1.”drive him there myself”….

2.People observing Flight Radar website and linking an incoming private flight into Southampton with a player whose club is in close proximity to outbound airport.

3.As towards end of window references to “slam shut” and images of Sky reporter with dildo in his ear

Either that or Ankersen's will be another season of Sulemana's Opta stats on superior contributions to oppo goal kicks.

Good grief. In charge of selling? Maybe Dragan said to him “you’ve lost me hundreds of millions through your idiocy. So now you need to get some of my money back, you <Serbian for tosser>”.

Hard to deny Rasmus Ankersen getting a deal rising to £58m for Lavia looks good on the face of it, without knowing the full structure.

Maybe Ankersen has a flair for selling players, but not buying them. Spors is now in charge of the latter.

Shame about Max Aarons, good player that was linked with a host of bigger clubs in his younger days.

Tariq Lamptey would be my next suggestion for that RB position. Surplus to requirements at Brighton, similar mould to Max Aarons.

As for the twelve year old article about Norwich signing van Wolfswinkel - lol.

Yazık oldu Max Aarons'a, gençliğinde adı birçok büyük kulüple anılan iyi bir oyuncu.

Tariq Lamptey, o RB pozisyonu için bir sonraki önerim olurdu. Brighton'daki gereksinim fazlası, Max Aarons'a benzer bir kalıp.

Norwich'in van Wolfswinkel'i transfer ettiğine dair 12 yıllık habere gelince - lol.

Shorty full-backs are not suitable for modern football. Southampton should not have players under 1.80m.
