obelisk Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Who'd have thunk it. 0-0. Saints a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team.
trousers Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Grinding out results with mediocre players... Who'd have thought that would ever work...? Only took 36 games for a manager to fathom it out... Edited May 10 by trousers 10
Doctoroncall Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Wahoo! surprised 26 shots against and 2 for but it’s the point we needed!!!!
coalman Posted May 10 Posted May 10 People doubted this team had what it takes but I think that today shows the naysayers were wrong. Not only did Saints get to safety with 2 whole games remaining but did so against Pep Guardiola's Man City. You have to think that after scoring only 1 goal in 2 league games against Southampton this season that Pep's journey at City will be coming to an end. 1

Saint_clark Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Thank Christ for that. Don't bother playing anyone the last two games that won't be here next season.
Matthew Le God Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Derby County! Can you hear me? Derby County! Paul Jewell! Robbie Savage! Billy Davies! Even you, Roy Carroll! You are the kings of calamity once more! Your record has taken a hell of a beating! A hell of a beating! 😉😇 Edited May 10 by Matthew Le God 2 14
Thereisonlyonemickychannon Posted May 10 Posted May 10 At fing last. We are not the worst team in prem history....what a fcking shambles though...fucking shambles 3

Viking Saint Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Where has that tenacity, commitment and work rate been all season?? 4
Baird of the land Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Very nice to take points off city. Didn’t expect that at all. Very good team effort. Wish we’d seen that more often.
Saint NL Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Haaland didn't look fit at all did he? Guess he wanted to pad his stats against a bunch of losers.
Lighthouse Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Good, the rest of football can now shut up and forget about this sh*thouse of a season. Now we're just another crap, sub 20 points, team along with the Swindon, Huddersfield, Sheff Utd, Villa, Wolves and Sunderland efforts of years gone by. 9 1
Andrew Watson Posted May 10 Posted May 10 If the opposition have 26 shots they should win the game,as for getting excited for reaching 12 points. 1

Holmes_and_Watson Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Pep livid and overcompensating. 🙂 We get past Derby! It's never great to see your side line up for a point, and a prayer of a break, at home. But the season's gone, we wanted the point, and needed any kind of performance. We got the job done. We kept it compact, pushed them out wide in the first half. We were tight on their long shot specialists, and stopped service to Haaland, even from wide. Les had to go off before a second yellow. They had a bit more room, but Aribo helped the full backs double up, and used his experience to get where it mattered. We didn't do anything with the moments we had. But the satisfaction is seeing an actual team performance work out, with everyone playing a part. Edited May 10 by Holmes_and_Watson sp 10

LGTL Posted May 10 Posted May 10 That’s probably the best point we’ve ever got in PL history. I’m not joking, that record was unthinkable. 2
