I thought he looked a decent prospect last season. He has been affected by injury this term but hopefully will turn into a decent asset.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Somehow, I don't think Everton will be giving us £35million for him. 1
stevematthews635 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 He got injured at a very unfortunate time. He should come back stronger and motivated for next season. 3

Pilchards Posted September 6 Posted September 6 While we’re at it, Samuel Emo-Ameyaw scores two for Strasbourg today. Anyone else knocking them in that we got rid off for chips. 1

Toussaint Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Should have kept both him and Archer. Edozie has had so many opportunities and I don’t know what to make of Dobbin, except he cost an awful lot of money. 3

Willo of Whiteley Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Prior to Welington yesterday I’d be interested to know the last time we scored a non-set piece goal from outside the box.

washsaint Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Ridiculous we let him go out on loan to be left with Sam 'step over and lose the ball' Edozie who clearly does not want to be here nor is he wanted. 6

qwertyell Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Why the fuck is this guy starting games in Serie A, but not considered worth having around a Championship club in place of, say, a bloke who is desperate to leave (and is shite)? Can't make it make sense. Robinson is also an option in the 10, and I'm pretty sure he played as a striker on occasion for the youths. 7

He needs to be starting games week in week out otherwise he won't improve. 20 minutes here and there isn't enough and would be damaging for his development. 2

OnceaSaintalwaysaSaint Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Good luck to him but playing for a lowly Serie A club isn't a major step up on a leading Championship club. Always felt he is a busy body but with no end product. Hopefully he will develop over there and come back a better player. Evidently Juric saw something in him..

What an utter load of nonsense. being a starter in Serie A at 19 (2nd ranked competition in Europe) or Championship (10th ranked) is not comparable. I really thought Tonda believed in our Academy but it is seeming he is no different from the others. Robinson would have been a really good option for us this season and certainly offers more than Sam fuckin shite Edozie 2

Much better to player trade and show Dragan how clever that original plan was that so seduced him and his money. 1

Judging by the fact the club let Ballard go, no one at the club has seen it either. FFS.
benjii Posted September 7 Posted September 7 (edited) I like him but this loan could be brilliant for everyone. Next season we could have a great player on our hands - certainly a more developed one than if he spent 20 minutes replacing Leo every week. Maybe if we'd done something like this for Ballard, Amo-Ameyaw etc. they would have got a proper chance at SFC at the end of it. Edited September 7 by benjii 17

When Tonda has finished being found out, we will scramble for a new manager and inevitably remain in this league...that is when the pain begins, Danny boy.

I'd argue that we don't have the luxury of making plans for next season and we should be mining every possible resource to acheive this season's goals. To that end, Robinson offers us more value being a usable option in our squad, than being out on loan in someone else's squad. 2

If he's 3rd choice on a wing then he would hardly play.

benali-shorts Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 good for him. Shame not to have him as an option off the bench instead of edozie & fellows. 2
qwertyell Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Still fucking nonsense that we - a championship club short on attacking quality - loaned out a homegrown attacker who can play a number of roles and is apparently good enough to start and hold his own in Serie A. 9

Don’t mind the overall point being made here but there is a manager holding his own there too, does the same logic apply?
suewhistle Posted October 19 Posted October 19 He also hit the post tonight from which rebound a team mate scored, but more importantly from our point of view he played 88 minutes. Minutes he wouldn't be getting here yet. 4
Saint Pete Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I guess Tonda & Spors made a call that Edozie was going to be the backup for Scienza in the squad this season. There's definitely an argument whether that was the wrong call and Jay should have been the backup with Edozie going out on loan or sold instead. But having made the call, it's much better Jay is out getting 1st team experience at a good level rather than waiting around in our U21s, which is what would have happened. Monza looks a good fit for him so far and it will be a great life experience for him in Italy too. 8

Made 28 first team appearances last season, by the way. There's no reason to think he would've been kicking bricks in the u21s this term. If we don't get promoted, then Robinson going out "for experience" - rather than helping us achieve our objectives - means absolutely nothing to us, because he won't come back to a championship club if he's established himself at a far higher level. So what will we have achieved, aside from a nice profit from selling on yet another promising youngster rather than use him on the pitch? 1
