Not sure if this has already been posted, but everyone pushing Carrick might want to give this a watch !!

OK that tells me Carrick is another Martin, Still etc apologist…not for me, however it wouldn’t surprise me if SR would think this guy is just the chap to continue with the big group system experiment. 🙄

Sorry, I missed where I said Still was in my post, can you show me? 😎

Merely building on your point about management styles by highlighting that whilst our last good manager was rumoured to have had poor man management, most of the shit ones since have been hired in part due to their good man management of the players (Selles, Martin, Still).... 😉

He also lost 9-0 and went on other horror runs, we were good at times under Ralph but incredibly streaky.

We haven't missed good times or winning streaks in the prem at all have we... 🤪
And neither 9-0 comes remotely close to last season imo.

Hmm. That doesn't sound good. In fact it sounds quite a lot like will still!

100% agree with that last point in fairness.

Southgate would be appalling. Fortunately he's got no interest in management anymore.

Absolutely- the last thing our wallflower team needs is his simpering, wet wokedom.

I'd have Ross Stewart as manager.  Lets be honest, it's unlikely whoever the new manager is they'll be around more than a few months so we may as well pick Ross and then, when it comes to getting rid of him, he can go back to (hopefully) playing.

If Rohl was up there, and one they could have easily chosen in the summer, amazing that we sacked Still just a week or so after Rohl became unavailable.

Agree, timing is awful.

It’s almost like I’ve said the same thing already this morning 😂

Lyal Thomas seems to have decent sources at Saints to be fair. It’s encouraging to know Martin isn’t going to be the answer but the concern is championship experience.

Great! A manager from the German 2nd division to go with our Germany second division signings.

Longer shots - I wonder if we could tempt Bruno Lage - been at Wolves, Swansea, and Wednesday throughout his career. Or, can we get Le Tissier to phone up Xavi and get him involved? He did idolise Le Tiss as a kid...

Looking at the german sphere of coaching, Marco Rose is a great shout.

And then Viera has good links to Spors previously.

Did you call into the Radio Solent show last night?

FFS so yet again it will be a left field, unknown (to the majority), yes man manager who doesn't know the league. Pellegrino or Juric type.

Total Saints Podcast joked it would be a German 2nd Division manager and it looks like that's what we will end up with.

Is it really too much to ask for a manager who has managed in England before? Someone who may actually know this league and have a vague idea of how to perform reasonably well in it. Not someone who needs time to learn the league or climatise to England. Relegation to League 1 would be a disaster. This is not the time to dick around with further experiments.

We have taken too many gambles as a club over the past 4-5 years, the majority of which have not paid off resulting in our current predicament. When will they ever fucking learn?!

They try to make decisions like this to appear clever and ahead of the curve but they have pretty much always backfired and this is why SR are pretty unanimously hated by us fans yet they continue to do the same...

Whatever you say about Will Still at least he had the balls to drop Captain Jack. I fear whoever the new manager is will stick him straight back into the side.

Have results validated his decision?

Hah, i will have to look for it, had totally forgotten there was a call in last night. Jokingly mentioning something on here is one thing, calling into a radio show with it is something else...

The nods will be in 7th heaven if it’s Ralph, and the wankers in the social media department walking around with a permanent hard on.

The only thing I ask, is they wait until the new year, so we don’t have to listen to that stupid fucking  Last Xmas pony.

The thing that worries me about this, is that it implies they've sacked him without already having a pretty firm idea who to appoint afterwards. I think even the most patient fan would have to admit that Still's sacking has been coming for a couple of weeks minimum at this point. I know there is an international break coming up, but we really can't afford to be wasting time for the new manager to get himself in the door and start working with the squad...

Are we perhaps caught in a queue where managers are waiting to see what jobs become avaialble as we enter prime sacking window? Or are we waiting for our preferred candidate to get sacked somewhere else first.... 🤣

Maybe waiting for Kompany to be sacked, might be a while.

Don’t mind having a German manager. If you are reading Johannes, please can it be someone from the list below.

- Jurgen Klopp

- Marco Rose

- Julian Nagelsmann

- Adi Hutter

- Hansi Flick

- Roger Smidt

Anyone else will have to be Saintsweb approved.

Good luck 👍🏼

Spors should just relocate us to Bundesliga 2 , he'd be happy as that's where he spends all his time anyway
