Larin made a great start to Saints life - big strong, holding play up, out balls at the end. Plus a goal on debut with his first touch.

I will overlook that he is clearly blowing out of his arse at the end after only 20 mins on the pitch 😁

incredible how a single 3-second moment completely changes the narrative of the entire game... and maybe the season.  Oh Cyle... we are so happy you've joined us.

Larin was always a likely scorer, give the large scale pre judgement of the signing.

wasn’t a great performance(scienza in particular has looked less impressive these last 2 games, much better delivery by bree for the goal). Still think we were marginally the better team.

Not a great performance whatsoever - but very important 3 points.  Keeps us in with a chance of play offs

Edozie looks quality - but you can see him & Larin both need to improve on fitness

Truly hoping that Downes injury is just a small knock nothing major

Get in.

Didn't do loads going forward but did enough and got another clean sheet, despite Watford looking the better team for large periods.

We're looking soooooo much better defensively since we changed formation.

So glad that, despite my reservations over his previous record, I didn't join in the bed wetting about the signing of Larin.

Another game that proves we wasted a ridiculous number of games playing 3 at the back. Another game that proves we wasted a ridiculous number of games with Manning in the side and Fellows out of position. Another game that proves we wasted a number of season with a crap keeper.

If only this squad had been managed better from the get go.

We won the game today playing 3 at the back.

Minging win, but happy we got it over the line.

We look so much more… I don’t know how to explain it - “functionally average” with this revised formation. I don’t mind, as long as we keep winning and I never, ever see Bazunu again.

You got to feel for Ross, finally gets himself fit and another striker comes along and gets the glory. But still that's two options up front to play the way we want to play. Now the providers behind them need to do more to supply.

I thought Edozie looked good when he came on. Defence were good too, another clean sheet. I hope Flynn isn't out long but we have got some strength in depth now in midfield.

The fact he scored had nothing to do with the pre judgement, none at all.

We weren't great but Watford aren't a bad side. They were very organised and have pace and strength in their side. You'd have certainly taken a scrappy 1-0 win before the game.

We look like a football team instead of a rabble of school children knocking it about down the park

Look, it wasn't great but Watford were much better than I think we all gave them credit for. Very well organised. But its sometimes good to get those wins, toughing it out.

Wellington once again solid and I thought Tonda made the correct subs at the correct time.

Good win to grind out, as there was very little in the game, though we did have the clearest chances. Great header by Larin, from looking at him, he will provide a similar outlet to what Tall Paul would’ve done at this level, which is more than enough to be effective. Should be a handful in the box for defenders.

Defence starting to look solid with a back 4 and the best full backs at the club playing, along with a keeper who whilst having some shakey moments, is authoritative and clearly has the faith of his defenders.

These are the type of wins we barely ever grind out, so let’s enjoy it

Somewhat fortunate, but a win’s a win. Perfect goalscorer too. Seems to have nous, character & physicality which is what we need (and Downs lacked, among other things). Hopefully we can push on from here.

Larin is a little shorter than Tall Paul; but crucially much more solid. He isn't going to get pushed around; and having watch Paul's Bambi on ice impression at Gillingham I'm happy to have the Canadian.

As long as we play Larin as a poacher, all will be good. We're talented enough on paper to not need him running endlessly and chasing players down.

Feed him and he will score.

That is not what he is suited to do.

Yeah, maybe put him on corners for a bit to see how he does. That one was right on the money.

He will be just as effective was my point, but totally agree, he’s built more like a boxer and should be more like a battering ram. Probably more pleasing on the eye in that regard than the awkwardness of TP

I never really understood why (other than a couple of little injuries) Welington has not been automatic first choice at left back. He's always looked significantly better than Manning, particularly at defending!! Also gets forward well, so what's not to like?
