Great result and there can't be any complaints from Fulham...we deserved that on balance of chances

Does it matter if Fulham do complain 😁

So we can compete with Premier League sides when we don't spend 75% of the match passing slowly within our own half, valuing the possession stat more than goals.

Who'd have thought.

we are a totally different side with a target man and we currently have two that can play there.

the squad looks really nicely balanced. plenty of depth. Confidence and togetherness. Really nice period to be watching Saints

Fewer opportunities, as expected, in that half. But we were organised. Downes and Jander stopped them in the middle and THB led the back line really well. Having Peretz, as a proper keeper, also helps a lot.

That was an excellent penalty. The keeper got his fingertips to it. But it was too powerful and well placed.

Tonda's been giving minutes from the bench a lot. So, the subs weren't rusty, and knew their jobs.

A professional win, against PL opponents. Even with a lot of changes, they had a lot of quality out there.

COYR!

It's almost as if Russell Martin didn't have a clue how to play against premier league teams... ;)

#moveon #letitgo 🙂

if I was a Fulham fan i'd be annoyed at that starting eleven. Yet again they give up the chance of fa cup glory to rest players for PL money.

Fixture backlog

I guess it could put us in a potentially advantageous position of knowing exactly what results we'll need to get ourselves into the play offs...

Indeed. Alright Fulham rested a fair few but my main takeaway from that game is to be less terrified at the prospect of us going up than I was before it was played. We properly competed there.

Well deserved win. Fulham had loads of possession and umpteen corners but we carved out the better clear cut chances. Great penalty under pressure from Ross who deserves more of these moments. Well played boys.

Presumably this will mean our games against Ipswich and Wrexham over the Easter weekend will be rescheduled. Bit of a double edged sword as we'll likely suffer from fixture congestion now.

This is why we still have a chance most teams don’t take the cup that seriously even we haven’t been really up to this point . We need to even that up by going for it full strength,  be great to keep the run going especially in the anniversary kit

Like us on the break. It's been years, decades maybe since I've ben able to say that.

Yep, I actually love seeing football played like that. You can stick your possession based tippy tappy shite right up your expletive deleted.

...and we are building momentum at the right end of the season. There will be Championship teams who really won't fancy playing us right now.

Does this mean our two Easter league matches are now postponed?

I'd imagine we'll have quite a few evening games coming up 😇

our mixture of short and long passes, a target man and midfielders comfortable on the ball makes us a genuine threat.

i thought the work rate of Downes was tremendous too.

bloody shame the last section of the putney end wasn't available. The club ought to explain why they didnt secure that last section.

Well, we’re not getting promoted now.
This terrible result is going to screw up our season according to some of our fan base. I guess they’re not celebrating this at all.

Manning takes a lot of stick but I thought he was very good today. Fellows is still my biggest disappointment as I expected a lot from him but he's just not delivering.

So Verbal Junior and I both got ejected from the game in the final minutes. We will live in eternal shame.

I hope it ended well

We battled. HARD! What a result - one where you could see every player putting a shift in, from the starting XI right through to the subs.

Defence was outstanding today, especially THB. Honourable mention to Wood as well - very strong and composed all game.

For all the great defending, it did feel like we might end up losing it because we weren’t quite cut-throat enough up top, despite some brilliant counter-attacking football. But we dug in, kept pushing, and got the reward in the end.

Smashed in by Stewart - a bit of poetry really, scoring where his injury crisis began. Hopefully that strike finally lays it to rest.

Feels like we’re loving our Saints again. Long may it continue!

Agreed. Manning was better than normal and Fellows is really struggling.

On the plus side the whole back 5 were outstanding. Downes very good again and despite some poor finishing Larin, Scienza and Azaz caused them all sorts of problems on the break.
