Sants VS Reading Build Up/Predictions

Well you would think after 1 win in 10 games, 3 points from the last 21, 4 loses in a row, 1 win in 12 at home etc etc we could be facing a complete pasting to in form Reading.

But it would not surprise me one bit to see Reading fail to turn up again and we flukely win once more against them.

We have a few players out but Lallana might recover to play. Smith might also recover from his cramp and Pearce is not allowed to play. One thing that is certain is if we lose we will have ammased an awesome total of 1 point from 18 in the month of december. Which will beat our impressive total of 2 points from 15 in the month of october! But dont worry Wilde thinks it is encouraging!

So everything is geared up for us to lose! And that is why i am going for a win because not all the games go as you would expect. A 1-0 win to us in a game where we have 1 shot on goal and they have about 300 with Davis making some of the best saves we have seen again. Then after the game Jan will come out with Lowe and say how amazing our team is once again! Even though that would still only be 6 points from the last 24...(25%).

Either that or we really will get a pasting!

If we lost 2 nil - I'd be happy as a pig in shyte (rather that than a real home mullering) - that said - if we managed anything out of the game I'd be over the moon. 0 - 0, clean sheet and a point would be good for confidence, a win - bloody priceless in our current predicament.

All hope has gone - I cannot see how the lads have any kind of belief left in the system they are being told to use or indeed now, the coaching staff / Directors who have insisted in its use. In short the dressing room is lost. There is no way back from this position for JP - there quite possibly is no way back from this position for Lowe even if he sacked JP, which I do not think he will. We will lose - my prediction is...

Saints 0 Reading 3.

McGoldrick will lead the front line again and not score - because he rarely looks like scoring. It will be a miserable day - again. There will be some booing the team. The 'swing Lowe' song will be sung once again by the Northam, but sadly it will fall on deaf ears.

We will go home feeling miserable, listening on the radio to someone else phoning in to ask Jimmy Case on Radio Hampshire why Jan insists on playing 4-5-1 at home. We will get home and log onto this forum and read a whole batch of rants from others as sad as each other about the demise of their beloved football club.

When hope is gone, what is left? Nothing. So why bother turning up? Because despite EVERYTHING, you still care - there's still an uncharted, gene-level part of you that makes you want to be there when the tide turns and Saints start to win again. Who knows, it might be tomorrow - I doubt it very much - but its a funny old game.

Rupert Un-United FC 0 - 7 Reading

On a plus note we do string some passes together and it looks pretty. And after the game Kevin Doyle says we really are one of the best teams he's played against ever in his life and says how unlucky we were, Rupes asks him if he can write this in a letter signed anonymous for some reason...

Jan refuses to blame the "kids" but won't take the blame himself or put it on anyone else for that matter, when asked what he will try differently in the next match he says something has to be done about the attack and a new fomation is needed. Against Manure RUUFC play in a 6-4-0. Even with 6 defenders they lose in double figures...

Not that I've lost faith or anything... :-P

But fwiw... COYR's!!!!

The team is shot of all confidence, two days won't make a difference!

Saints 0 Reading 4 and more excuses to follow!! I feel sorry for Jan, he is in hell!!!!

Nice of him to join us.

Trying desperatly to get motivated and being in a optimistic frame of mind for this but it is a bit of a struggle, i'm ashamed too say.

Saints win,3-2.

The reason behind this prediction,i believe Reading are a team that will come and play an open and expansive game,i sincerley doubt they will come for a point, therefore if by some miracle we have someone with their shooting boots we could snatch a result.

Will paper over the cracks and there is alot of if's and but's in the above statement however.

My son and two pals (down from the norff) want to go today. Can they get tickets on the day?

ps Saints 0-Reading 2

I believe that it is database only which means have they purchased a ticket already this season and therefore have a purchase history? If so, then yes. If not then they cant get them.

Reading will not stand off and watch like they did at the Mad Stad. I expect our pretty passing to be under pressure from the off and "the boys" will find it hard to get forward. There might be the chance of a late consolation though as the Royals take the foot off the gas.

The Boys 1 - 4 The Men.

I (like many others no doubt) are depressed before I go to a match these days. Knowing we are going to lose. Pretty passing, but no decisve runs towards goal and a lone striker in McG, who is cant tackle, cant shoot, cant pass, and to be honest cant be bothered. I had a little flame of hope against Forest, but even thats now been extinguished.

Personally I can see a 0-4 drubbing. If we even score I'd be surprised. A draw would be a miracle.

I used to go to football in hope and expectation, now I go depressed in the sure knowledge we will get mullered

Lol at the couch picture.. ...is that a lean on couch?

Difficult to see how we can get anything out of the next two games but as always, I'm looking forward to going along and to cheer them on. JP has talked about them learning depsite the results. This being so I would hope to at least see a few more shots on target.

can't for the life of me see us winning this one. Reading are going to be wanting revenge and we are playing at home. One win at home this season. Enough said. I reckon we are going to be stuffed royally today. 0-6 is very likely. Hope it is the other way around but not holding my breathe.
