die Mannyschaft Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Shame Russell Martin is not available as would done a much better job at possession football at Wrexham than Tonda. 2
Lord Duckhunter Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I can’t understand the Leicester fans hate of him , they’re sitting 13th, given time I’m sure he’ll be the first man to keep them up for 3 years… 1 7

HKsaint Posted September 21 Posted September 21 It seems that RM has laid down a very solid foundation in Rangers for them to develop and progress. They have just beaten Celtic twice in derby and now have 7 consecutive wins. 1

They had a unanimous Martin-out thread before he had even managed a single game for them. Seems Leicester fans still have an over inflated expectation of what they were likely to achieve this season. Given how fucked they are financially it was always going to be a rough season for them, and flirting with the playoffs and a mid table finish should have been considered a success. The last thing they needed was a “vision” manager like Russ, trying to get that squad to produce Man City-esque possession based football and dominate the league. They needed a manager that would make them a shithouse side that are difficult to beat. God know what Russ was thinking accepting that job, he could probably see the impending payoff headed his way. 2
Saint86 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) I don't actually think they are doing that badly, they are dominating games and only 2 points off playoffs... not bad considering they are early in their martin ball journey and have a horrible / disjointed / imbalanced squad Edited September 21 by Saint86

Saint Keef Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The bloke is a living, breathing genius. Sorry - WRONG THREAD. Russell Martin on the other hand is a self-serving, egotistical (extremely rich - due to his various dismissals) annoying twat. I sincerely hope he stays as manager, as I don't think I could stomach him as a pundit on SKY (and you just know it would happen). It's bad enough putting up with the likes of Carragher (or "Mute the TV Carragher" as he is known in my house). Plus, if Saints have a bad day, there's always the RM thread to brighten the day. 1

Lord Duckhunter Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Lego just doesn’t get it, “we’ve had 135 shots in 5 games”. Dear god, they’re in league one, biggest club by a mile. Supporter pretty respectful, but Lego just doesn’t understand supporters. Get the ball forward more. Edited 23 hours ago by Lord Duckhunter 3

Not sure what more that supporter can expect, those are elite stats 1

S-Clarke Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago He's still as poisonous as ever then. ''What more do you want?'' Umm, maybe to see my team beat Stevenage away - you know, that crucial 'win' thing. He's still obviously hanging on his belief that chances created and possession means more than 3 points. I think he's actually losing his mind now. Kinda feel sad for him, but his ego is too big for him to realise what a fool he is. 1
Saint-Reece Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago As much as I don’t like the bloke, him telling the fan they’ve been shit ever since Maresca was pretty funny though 😂

Note he says “you” not “us”. Still taking no responsibility for performances or results after bringing in what is it now, 16 of his own players at Leicester. Still not sure whether he actually, genuinely believes it himself or just takes the gaslighting route because he thinks it convinces people to doubt what they see with their own eyes. But the whole playbook is in rinse and repeat once again. He’ll never change. Edited 2 hours ago by Midfield_General 1

It's the "I'll live and die by the sword" comment that really sticks out for me. He's obviously not learned a single thing from his experience with us and Rangers, and is still utterly convinced by his own delusion that there is nothing wrong with his rigid philosophy. He'll be sacked before the year is out, having completely lost the plot and scapegoated the entire squad and fan base, get a huge payoff and take a long sabbatical where he will utterly fail to reflect on his own inadequacies, then rock up at another big fish in a small pond club next summer to rinse and repeat. 1
Badger Posted 19 minutes ago Posted 19 minutes ago Almost admire his self belief and confidence but it’s clearly misplaced. Head up his own arse. 1
