Isn't the Gibbs-White move off or at least in contention so that could well be slowing it down? Also, I would bet if they want Fernandes, they'll want to pay something like £25m+bonuses, like they paid for Gibbs-White, but the problem is we probably want Lavia money - which I think is correct as he's an established PL player unlike Gibbs-White when they got him.

Forest were seemingly interested long before Spurs bid for Gibbs-White, so not sure the move is reliant on that happening, but I agree, they will want to spend £25m plus add ons an we will want £40m plus add ons.

Rubén Sánchez is an important player for Espanyol's squad, and the club would not want to part with him in this transfer window, but it also depends on the offers that may come in.

The parties would not consider a new loan.

Several clubs are inquiring about Rubén: Rayo, Oviedo, Sassuolo, and Southampton are some of those keeping tabs on him.

Ain’t we off to a northern Spain training camp next week and playing Espanyol at some point? Good chance to take a closer look at each other.

Yep, training camp in Spain next week & playing Espanyol behind closed doors next Saturday.

it certainly needs trimming, but if enough depart, like all the main three or four we really rate and a few others like BBD, Taylor and Armstrong, then we can add to it. This attacking midfielder that could be signed with or without sales seems to be elusive too.

I think there maybe some reevaluation going on from some players and the club, having brought in Will Still, he’s probably created a good impression.

If Matsuki has played himself into the squad, maybe the new AM is not needed this season???

Ultimately down to the Manager on who he can rely on for a promotion push I would think.

I always thought Aribo would look for a move once his contract was up, rather than this summer. Free transfers are more attractive to suitors and ensure the wage remains high this season and then in future seasons.

I thought Aribo was class last time in the championship . The way he can hold players off and buy himself time on the ball is a real asset he also sees runs and plays quality through balls .. doesn’t seem to in favour by many but I rate him wouldn’t even be surprised if he’s better then Charles and downes either if last time was anything to go by  probably the most well rounded midfielder we have

Aribo was quite well suited to Martin's slowball(but don't really see him being a tremendous asset in a more mobile system)On the other hand Charles(was horribly suited to Martin's style) and i'm really hoping we'll finally get to see the version sheff wed/N.Ireland have seen.

Bednarek and Stephens both very much in the Che Adams mould of players I just want to never have to watch again. Don't care if the replacements are inferior, don't care if it's irrational, don't care if keeping them would marginally increase our chances of promotion. They are the authors of so much tedium, shame and misery over the past 5+ years that all I want is for them to fuck off and play for anyone else.

If we don't lose either this summer, I will be very cross indeed.

I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I know Sheff Wed fans thought he was good, but whenever I watched him for them, I still saw a guy that was constantly the wrong side of the ball and didn't dictate the game as the best CMs do. We need to ensure his role suits him and he has the right players alongside him.

Our club have a knack of over-extending contracts of players who should be out the door.

Kind of proving they don't learn from past mistakes.

Yeah who knows .. I thought physicality was  one of the things they where looking for he’s certainly strong  and  likes to thread a pass . . I don’t think aribo was really that bad in the pl tbh considering he was getting played out of position as a centre back or in a two man midfield with neither really being the holding player .. he still had some decent games and put a shift in

Gerard pretty much echoing what I what I was saying here .. I think number ten is his best position too but he’s got such a versatile skillset he can be used in a load of positions , some of his dribbling is even a  bit winger like .. we haven’t really seen much of a him as a traditional ten but that versatility is surely worth keeping him around for

I agree. Definitely a player in there. He was good when he first joined and at time during the championship but like so many others lost his way. He ended up playing centre back under Juric ffs. He big, strong, technically good, I see him S an attacking midfielder either central or wide picking up pockets of space. Definitely under rated due to his style but I don’t think we’ve seen anything like the best of him yet
