obelisk Posted yesterday at 13:35 Posted yesterday at 13:35 Just tuned in to the FA Cup Final on the Beeb. Have they mentioned all the (alleged) cheating by the protagonists yet? 2
Colinjb Posted yesterday at 13:44 Posted yesterday at 13:44 Dodgy VAR decision for their second, all hinged on that travesty of a penalty midweek though. Perhaps Hearts need to get in touch with Steve Gibson. 1
Lord Duckhunter Posted yesterday at 13:54 Posted yesterday at 13:54 9 minutes ago, Colinjb said: Dodgy VAR decision for their second, No it wasn’t. The only thing dodgy about that was the Lino flagging when the bloke was yards onside. 2

Micky Posted yesterday at 15:37 Posted yesterday at 15:37 The 'cheats' are winning in the FA Cup, nothing but praise from the media. Strange that.

Britannia Posted yesterday at 15:57 Posted yesterday at 15:57 A Glasgow club win the SP title and Manchester City win another trophy. How ordinary. 1
Saint_clark Posted yesterday at 15:58 Posted yesterday at 15:58 Fucking hell that was painful watching. Thank god it didn't go to extra time.

obelisk Posted yesterday at 16:19 Posted yesterday at 16:19 I'm old enough to remember the days when the cup final marked the end of the season. The Beeb kept telling me that it was a great game and that the fans of the same old clubs really did care about it too. Well I suppose they have to try. 3

A pair of disappointing results although I didn’t want Cheating Chelsea to win either with their constant whinging on the field of play , how many penalty shouts did they have today 😀

tdmickey3 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago No mention of the charges hanging over City during the build up or post match. Why was that?
saintant Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago What a drab, colourless affair the FA Cup Final was with zero intensity or excitement. Just two of the usual suspects strolling around the pitch and the commentators desperately trying to make it sound exciting whilst being careful not to mention that the cheating done by this pair over a period dwarfs anything we may or may not have done. 1
Badger Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago 59 minutes ago, tdmickey3 said: No mention of the charges hanging over City during the build up or post match. Why was that? Probably because the charges will still be hanging over them when the play in the cup final next season. And the season after that. 1
adrian lord Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Not only was the Cup Final dull but there were empty seats and I suspect it was not a sell out. 1
Patrick Bateman Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago 4 hours ago, adrian lord said: Not only was the Cup Final dull but there were empty seats and I suspect it was not a sell out. Was in the car listening on our way back from seeing family in Southampton, they mentioned lots of red, empty seats in the upper tier for both teams, we all (family) said uniformly "Saints v Leeds would've been full". 2
Lighthouse Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago VAR is the football equivalent of three ‘expert’ naturalists staring at a photo of a duck for six minutes and deciding it’s a giraffe. 3
stknowle Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Having just seen Utd’s second goal against Forest I have to say that it is yet another fine example of how the whole VAR/reffing process is absolutely not biased towards big sides whatsoever. So that’s reassuring. 1
obelisk Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Good job this is just another EPL exhibition match with nothing play for otherwise someone might accuse the ref of cheating.
stknowle Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 1 minute ago, obelisk said: Good job this is just another EPL exhibition match with nothing play for otherwise someone might accuse the ref of cheating. I don’t see any way that any sane rational person could not see that was a very clear handball. So he either isn’t that and shouldn’t be in his job or he has cheated. Fucking ridiculous. 2

So that’s reassuring. Was a shocking decision but the sort that would happen way more often without VAR. The VAR obviously thought it was a handball, it was the guy on the pitch surrounded by 70,000 Man U fans that decided it wasn’t.
skintsaint Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago IF Forest lose Gibbs-White and Anderson they are in a world of pain next season.
skintsaint Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago "After review, the decision of goal stands because the handball offence is accidental, therefore the final decision is goal.” Err...what? Most of the decisions given are accidental. 1

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I was at my local football, so missed the second half of the Celtic v Hearts game. From what I'm told the Celtic fans invaded the pitch before the game was finished. That it was a 2 goal advantage makes no difference. There was at least 30 seconds, plus whatever time for the goal celebration, p,us whatever else during added time the ref saw fit to add on. We've just seen the York v Rochdale game that turned on the added time. Looking at headlines, it's all about crowd trouble in Glasgow city centre and them picking up the trophy. I'd heard Beards left as quickly as they could, with rumours of assault and safety concerns. Not a peep about potential sanctions, that considering the game was still on, should include points deductions. Edit: SFA state that the game was over, and not abandoned. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4g9ww4p09do Edit2: Except the ref blew the whistle due to the pitch invasion. So, it's poor after all, with the SFA washing their hands of that, as the whistle was blown. https://www.givemesport.com/celtic-hearts-keith-hackett-verdict-abandon-game-scottish-premiership/ Edited 2 hours ago by Holmes_and_Watson

I remember Mourinho subbing him, for not listening to instructions. It didn't look as though he had much of a future. Just on the other points above, it was clearly controlled by the hand, and a terrible call.
