People tend to forget that, and just recall his sending off. But that miss was a critical moment and had we won that match I think we’d have stayed up. (Apart from the FACT that our relegation was purely down to one match - losing to the skates at Fratton of course) 2

People forget we have Cameron Archer, Walsall's answer to Ronaldo, ready to step straight in. And if he gets injured, Ross Stewart can lend him some of the dozens of crutches he must have cluttering up his fucking garage. Yeh, not as if we want to score another goal this season.

Prutton and Higginbottom was earlier, January 2003 I think. Arry wasted most of that window on Reid when right from the start he had made it clear he didn't want to join Saints, and why would he when Spurs was an option rather than relegation? 1

We were also trying to get Michael Dawson that window too, to be fair both of them would have made a huge difference but they chose Spurs instead as you probably would do.

Look at the state of our striker additions when we have time to scout/set it up. Agreed, for a club of our size, budgets etc we shouldn’t be struggling to sign players. But when you sack a manager every six months it’s not particularly attractive.

With Jamie Redknapp and Bernard also arriving, you can see how hard it is to attract player when you are a sinking ship. My man Henri Camara the exception to the rule of course.

Still not sure how we didn't survive with the players we had. So many fuck ups.

I guess if Armstrong wants to leave then he wont be signing a new contract and that might force their hand a little. Sports joining Saints was announced on 7th Feb while Armstrong departed on loan to WBA on the 4th Feb, so whether he had any input on that loan (and an indication of how highly he is rated by him) is hard to say.

Relegated by two points in the end. Far worse than that sending off. Can't believe it was 21 years ago!
Saint86 Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago We're selling our only reliable goal scorer, with just Archer and the walking wounded remaining. Worrying times. 1

Harry_SFC Posted 15 minutes ago Posted 15 minutes ago (edited) 5 minutes ago, Hatch said: But he isn't 'reliable' , thats the problem A big problem is that when he isn't scoring (like now) he doesn't bring anything else to the table. Can't hold it up, doesn't win headers, doesn't win fouls, can't beat players, not particularly good at passing. He normally works hard but even that's dropped off now. I kind of feel the same way I did about Che Adams - I'm not that fussed if he goes but on the flip side I've got no confidence we'll replace him with the same quality let alone anyone better. Would also feel like an admission that our season is effectively over (unless we got dragged into a relegation scrap). 2
