DT Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Amazingly good and surprising news. Well done Saints. The foundation of our success, and will be huge for us next season. A decent keeper is so important and the thought of Baz returning was making me think we'd be relegation candidates. Hope this leads to Larin and others following suit. Finally some good news whilst the world carries on trying to bash us. Fuck them. 6

Maybe we can say take him on a free but we get £10million if you make it back to the Prem with him in your team? Player exchange maybe? But agree they will need money in and try to recruit cheaply

AlexLaw76 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago WOW, signed to be No.2 given Baz is back at the club Brave move 16
DellBoys Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Wow what a statement signing. Stick together lads and we’ll right some wrongs next season 1
pingpong Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Good news, gives baz some competition that's for sure, should keep them both on top of their game and maybe help peretz eliminate some of the big errors from his game? A shame we can't play both of them as they have such opposite and complementary skills. Maybe bring baz in for the cups and playoffs, and let peretz play the smaller teams. 10
Pamplemousse Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Given the way the BBC have been reporting on us pretty much daily, I expected this to be headline news on their website... 18
saintant Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago We have only lost one game with Daniel in goal and that was his debut against Hull when I think we might have still been playing a back three. 1

Noodles34 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago SR out, haven't got clue, don't know what they are doing, ruining our club...blah, blah....

Suhari Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Fucking YES! That is an INSANE signing. Genuinely delighted, and starting to get excited for next season. Well done Saints - well done SR. Welcome Daniel. 1
lumuah Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 60 games unbeaten in the league can be done! I know you shouldn't fall in love with a loan player, but it was impossible not to. Best shot stopper since Niemi, batshit crazy and the most suicidal runs out of his area since Tim Flowers - all reasons the fans love him. I was gutted when I thought we'd seen the last of him; I wasn't even believing the media noise about him returning - the most I hoped for was another season long loan. But a 4-year contract. Wow. Amazing stuff, and hopefully this is the first step of the club making it up to the fans. This signing has me buzzing for the new season. we go again. Bring it on! 7
whelk Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Just looked at the odds for winning Championship which is now a certainty 14/1 Fucking joke Boro ahead of us 1 1

Dan Johnson Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 2 minutes ago, whelk said: Just looked at the odds for winning Championship which is now a certainty 14/1 Fucking joke Boro ahead of us honestly, who gives a fuck now what everyone else thinks. everyone will hate us, everyone will try and put us down but I can already feel the siege mentality growing... On this forum, with fans i speak to, in dragons statements, in the clubs statements, with the signing of Peretz, in Peretz first interview... We have the chance to allow the biggest negative this club has experienced into a driving force behind success. The run we went on last season was real, the connection that team had with the fans was real, if we can harness that at the beginning of next season, under a siege mentality, with the squad we had last season, we will win the league 5
coalman Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 6 minutes ago, whelk said: Just looked at the odds for winning Championship which is now a certainty 14/1 Fucking joke Boro ahead of us To be fair. Boto have already brought in another 11 lawyers already over the summer break. They're going to be hard to beat (in court). Out of all the teams in the Championship they have the most impressive (legal) team. 3
Hopper Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 7 minutes ago, whelk said: Just looked at the odds for winning Championship which is now a certainty 14/1 Fucking joke Boro ahead of us Am I completely missing something, none of these teams should be finishing above us this season. 2
St Chalet Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Best keeper we've had since Niemi - "unfinished business" love this. 2

Mattio Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I've gone from thinking next season will be a disaster to it might be our best for decades. 1

revolution saint Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Excellent news. I said in the player of the season thread that Peretz was the player I'd have been most concerned about if his name wasn't on the teamsheet and he's probably had the biggest impact of any of the players we've brought in last season. Honestly expected a bigger club to come in for him so fair play for getting this done so early. 1
Cuddles Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Never fall in love with a loan player...sod that!! We've literally gone from having the worst keeper in the league, to the best. Wild! 3
James Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Genuinely delighted with that, best keeper we’ve had in years (and, for me, better than Ramsdale). If we follow that up with Bree and Stewart extensions and Larin on a permanent I’ll start to feel very positive about next year even with -4 and a few inevitable sales. COYS. 1
Colinjb Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago That's the very definition of a statement of intent. Excellent. 3
egg Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago That's a cracking bit of business. He's a PL level keeper, and signing on a perm is real a vote of his confidence in us. Nice. 1

SNSUN Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I thought we'd lost him... and then he found his way home! Welcome back Peretz, big statement of intent by the club. Starts the summer business off on a high and at his age should be Prem ready for when we get there. I loved watching Berkovic, now we have another fun Israeli to watch week in, week out. Keep it up SR and all may be forgiven. And that means no Baz as a back up. We need a good back up, not a loan from Norwich.

saint francis Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Excellent. Nice to have some good news for a change.

He's a 24 year old RoI international who will want to be playing regular first team football, which it's pretty clear he wont be getting here. He will leave this summer, hopefully permanently and we can get a decent fee for him. I know I'd be p*ssing into the wind trying to argue that Bazunu is not infact the worst goalkeeper in the football league and I'm not going to bother. However, if you think we're getting better to come and sit on our bench, you're likely to be mistaken. 7 1

Livewire Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Excellent news. After a month of utter horror, this shows that we are looking upwards. Thanks for everything Bazunu and good luck in the remainder of your career, but you were not of the required level. Peretz for me had an iffy start but then improved and became very good all around.
davefizzy14 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Absolutely outstanding this 😊 Peretz is top class. So happy we have completed this deal. Great start to the summer window. Looking forward to watching his interview 😊 1
West Dean FC Legend Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Not that I know or anything or I'm an expert, I'm certainly not, but this seems to me to be a deliberate, pushed through message by the club to us the fans. I like him as a goalie - and if it is a message or statement by the club, I like that too! 1

I struggle to see how we shell out for Peretz if we haven’t got a good idea already that Ramsdale won’t be here, either on loan or sold. We’ll see, but I don’t personally see the transfer happening otherwise. Getting rid of Baz, a much harder situation to imagine. 2

Lord Duckhunter Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) This is a big big statement. Not so much to other clubs supporters , but to our fan base. I genuinely thought if we didn’t go up we’d see Baz, or some journeyman in nets next season. Even if spygate didn’t happen, I couldn’t see this bloke hanging around the championship, he’s better than that. To some extent THB, Jander, even Leo, are replaceable, but a keeper of his quality isn’t unless we were going to keep Ramsdale onboard. The fact that most would prefer him over Ramsdale, tells you how good he is. Now let’s get a solid number 2 in, because Baz has proved over and over that he’s not at the required level. We need an average championship keeper as back up to a great one (as in great for that league) , it won’t cost a lot and should be easy to get onboard. Ship Baz out, although I doubt anyone will touch him above league 2 level, or he’ll be an adequate number 3 Edited 7 hours ago by Lord Duckhunter 2
Swaythling Saint Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Huge signing, so important to get that over the line. You could see the impact he had on the team last season. He wants promotion, love it! 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago A real goalkeeper that can actually use his hands We found the black box!!!! Get in! 1
