It's so nice to have an actual goalkeeper again.

Yep. He will have shaky moments as he's not great with his feet but the positives outweigh the negatives so far for sure.

Just the fact he shouts at his defenders is an upgrade.

One goal conceded in four League games. Three clean sheets.

Bazunu was fine for the Championship though.

He was just unlucky, over a hundred times.

We’ve gone from worst save percentage to best. Yes he’s had a few shakey moments but he’s a huge upgrade on Bazunu.

At least a dozen points, probably a lot more, wasted with the Bazunu experiment part II. Would’ve been better all round for Peretz to join us instead of Hamburg when mooted in the summer. Probably spent George Long’s wages on what the loan fee would’ve been.

It’s a shame he picked Hamburg over us in the summer, think he wouldn’t make that choice given his time again and we would all be better off for it.

Don’t forget, recent teams have had depleted squads, so he hasn’t had to face un-saveable shots from some of the world’s best strikers like Baz did, EVERY SINGLE MATCH.

He’s not conceded a goal yet for Stoke so must be improving

I've always been on Spors' side, but beginning to think he might really know what he's doing...

I will admit, it felt different with a 1-0 lead at the end today. He has great reaction times. And for only being fractionally taller than Baz, he looks like a commanding monster in net by comparison.

It has been so frustrating watching us play with one hand tied behind our back for so long.

Now we compete at a level playing field, without a handicap.

With Peretz in goal I no longer react (faster than Baz) each time a shot is fired towards the goal. I can just sit back and watch.

You seem to be forgetting that goalkeeper stats are meaningless... ;)

Funnily enough Baz always got better when Alex Mc was in goal for us too!

Clean sheets:

Baz -4 (from 27)

Peretz- 3 (from 4)

Macca- 2 (from 3)

Quite some difference. Also, three of the four Baz clean sheets were 0-0.

Seriously, what the hell have we been doing? So great to have an actual goalkeeper.

At the time he signed, he was fine for the premier league…

Yeah, but no, but yeah.  He hasn't had to face the unstoppable world beaters that Baz had to contend with week in week out.  Wait 'til he does, then you'll see.

Never, ever forgive the clapping seals at the fans forum.

One of the most telling things for me over the last few games is that a couple of times he's been super quick to get off his line and claim a ball coming his way that might have been dangerous if he hadn't.

Compare that to Baz's frankly pathetic efforts in that department, like the goal at QPR for instance. It's night and day.

We've been playing five at the back.

Really should have done better for the first and third. Not a great game from him tonight.

First definitely. Third tougher.

Looks like the first goes through a defender's (Jack?) legs and is deflected. So probably not as bad as it looks on first sight. Third is a tremendous strike that goes into the top corner. Want my goalie to save both but it could be that most would have let them in.

The first one got a very slight deflection I think, not sure though

Looked like it to me. Took it away from him. 3rd goal took him by surprise. It was a hell of a thump from Fatawu.

I'm pleased we have him. He's not perfect but he's better than what we've had otherwise this season.

He's a bit of a nut head, he does run out of his area quite a bit - I thought he should have saved the first one to be honest, 3rd looked like he should have saved it, but I reckon that hit the net at some serious speed it would have taken something extraordinary to stop that.

I like his character though and I genuinely feel he's added some life to our defence in certain respects. He can't be 'too' perfect, as we'll end up losing him in the summer to another club - so throwing a goal in now and then this year will hopefully draw the eyes away. I'd be signing him.

Think it was Alfie house that said they had a very quiet dressing room. The incomings in terms of character seem to have helped.

Tough crowd, 1st one was heading straight at him till it hit JS's leg and diverts to his left. Nearly got it but not quite. 3rd was powered into the postage stamp from about 10 yards out.

Personally think he cocked up more on the 2nd, he must have seen he wasn't going to get close but still kept coming out.

Trouble with the 2nd is he ran out because he could see Fellows was going to pass it back, then once he'd come halfway even though the pass was under hit stopping would have been even more criminal. He had to go and try to win the ball.
