obelisk Posted Thursday at 10:29 Posted Thursday at 10:29 Oh well. He'd have probably got himself sent off against City anyway.
Hodds37 Posted Thursday at 10:30 Posted Thursday at 10:30 Anyone got the clip for what he's suspended for!?

Whether it was deliberate is hard to say but can see why the FA have acted.
Sir Ralph Posted Thursday at 10:49 Posted Thursday at 10:49 (edited) Really that gets a 3 match ban! It’s nothing. The guys head is his shoulder height so he stooped Edited Thursday at 10:49 by Sir Ralph
Sir Ralph Posted Thursday at 10:51 Posted Thursday at 10:51 Also if he appeals it does that defer the ban for Saturday?

CB Fry Posted Thursday at 10:59 Posted Thursday at 10:59 Thankfully we can just drop Oriel Romeu in instead, no harm done 👍 1 8
S-Clarke Posted Thursday at 11:01 Posted Thursday at 11:01 I personally thought he was a tiny bit lucky in the Swansea game, there were a few moments where he'd clearly lost his head. He had to be dragged away quite a few times. He'd have been sent off had he stayed on IMO, so on the face of it it feels a bit odd to retrospectively go back to it, but we were quite fortunate to play that game with 11 IMO. Gutting for Flynn missing the biggest game of his life - FA Cup Semi Final. He might never get there again. Feels mean in that sense. 4
BARCELONASAINT Posted Thursday at 11:24 Posted Thursday at 11:24 The timing off this is terrible not only for Flynn and the club but also the supporters going to Wembley on Saturday. We already knew we were without Manning and his replacement has barely kicked a ball recently but we now know Flynn is out and Captain Jack is at best 50/50 that he's fit enough to start!
Saint Marky Posted Thursday at 11:37 Posted Thursday at 11:37 Tin foil hat time, remove saints engine from the midfield, undoubtedly our most influential midfielder at the moment, link with all the current ridiculous decisions in Ipswich’s favour, Birminghams legit equaliser disallowed , Middlesbrough non penalty penalty amongst some and the fact we have to play Ipswich within the three game ban, think the fa have chosen their second place auto team and who they want in the fa cup final?…. 3

saintant Posted Thursday at 11:56 Posted Thursday at 11:56 Wonder if Swansea made the complaint. It was right in front of the dug outs.
SambaMaverick Posted Thursday at 12:07 Posted Thursday at 12:07 He's playing on the edge and playing fucking well Rather he got banned every once in a while than the mincing around he was doing earlier this season and last 7

Baird of the land Posted Thursday at 16:06 Posted Thursday at 16:06 Slowed down makes it look worse but can see why he's been done. However I'd Be interested to see how consistently retroactive review are done. Not great that he's going to miss cup and that'll he might be rusty for play offs.

Scoobysaint Posted Thursday at 17:18 Posted Thursday at 17:18 A bit disappointing but we managed to beat Arsenal without him so why not City? Don’t think it’ll do him any harm to have a few games rest before the playoffs. 1

Leif Davis and James Mcclean (Wrexham) both clubs the EFL want to help but gave them retrospective 3 match bans for violent conduct. How can this be?

Even when it's slowed down and even if it is deliberate, it still looks more like a check rather than an elbow smash. Put a deliberate elbow in at that speed and he breaks the guy's jaw. He didn't.
chuz Posted Thursday at 18:16 Posted Thursday at 18:16 1 hour ago, Harry_SFC said: Personally think this is a red card offence I thought that at the time. They showed it in real time and then one replay on the stream I was watching and thought ‘he’s off here, not for the afters but for the elbow’. Then TV focussed on the afters not the (what to call it…) ‘tackle’… Ref must have missed it and thought the afters was worth a yellow…

But it was clearly excessive and somewhat out of control. The way I look at it is this... If an opposition player did that to one of ours, would I be howling at the ref to send him off? Yes, I absolutely would. 2

If you think he deserved a red card, the only punishment is a 3 game ban. 1
Football Special Posted Thursday at 19:42 Posted Thursday at 19:42 I think hes been massively unlucky, how many other occurrences have there been this season of fa reviewing footage and taking retrospective action in the Championship?
saintwbu Posted Thursday at 19:57 Posted Thursday at 19:57 I am surprised he’s been charged only on the basis that the referee saw it and gave a free kick at the time. Wasn’t aware that underestimating the severity was grounds to get involved, otherwise you’d think there’d have been tonnes of these intervened on every season. 6
