Personally I think our window should close before the season starts so it's then up to all clubs to get their business done within the time. Not ideal but neither is starting games while the window remains open. that means our window will be shut for incomings, but we could sell sell sell
Saint Fan CaM Posted Monday at 12:09 Posted Monday at 12:09 Not unhappy to see a player go that refuses to play (if that’s true), but as our best CB (not difficult) it’s all about the replacement(s). Schlotterbeck has made a big difference but a new right-sided CB better than Stephens and Woods is essential to our promotion push. Think £30m is a good deal for Villa based on current player sales and THB’s potential in a better defence, but he’s not irreplaceable.
Toadhall Saint Posted Monday at 17:16 Posted Monday at 17:16 All gone a bit quiet given how he was having a medical today.
dsrdorset Posted Monday at 17:41 Posted Monday at 17:41 He ended up being a best player last season. But I always questioned his attitude. Always got the impression he thought he was too good for us. Good luck Villa fans, he isn't as good as Konsa! 🤣 The whole binoculars celebration fiasco never aged well, and he was never going to live that down. (although he was provoked in that game by the Boro scum cunts, so I would have probably done the same) One of those players that you love to hate when he's not playing for you. I don't think he'll ever be the England CB that we all predicted, but I wish him no harm. 4

Saintinnot Posted Monday at 18:54 Posted Monday at 18:54 Bellis is at the Villa game - just shown on sky

spyinthesky Posted Tuesday at 11:35 Posted Tuesday at 11:35 Best of luck Taylor. You did well for us, hope it works out at The Villa. 8

Saint Pete Posted Tuesday at 13:41 Posted Tuesday at 13:41 Sad to see him go, but can't begrudge him this move, he has a great chance to make it in the Prem now with such a good manager showing faith in him. Good luck THB. 5
Turkish Posted Tuesday at 13:45 Posted Tuesday at 13:45 Shame to see him go, seems a genuinely decent lad and appeared to love it here. Hope he goes onto have a good career. 12
davefizzy14 Posted Tuesday at 14:07 Posted Tuesday at 14:07 Really wanted THB to stay. Such a class act. Wish him all the best.
sfc4prem Posted Tuesday at 16:00 Posted Tuesday at 16:00 Deserves his chance in a non-Russell Martin managed PL side. All the best Taylor, you were a stalwart for us 2
Midfield_General Posted Tuesday at 16:28 Posted Tuesday at 16:28 (edited) Classy player, enjoyed watching him, scored some important goals and too good to spend another season in the Championship. Has earned another shot at a higher level, just a shame it wasn’t with us. Wish him well, good luck to him. Edited Tuesday at 16:29 by Midfield_General 5
Farmer Saint Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Looks like he may have been left out of Villa's CL squad...very odd.

But loyalty in football (both from a player and club perspective) is a thing of the past. He could have been instrumental in our promotion push, become club captain in the premier league and who knows. But football just sees ££££ signs nowadays. Instead, there are already signs that the grass is greener.

AlexLaw76 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Apparently, he could not be added to their CL squad as he signed after the CL deadline (for the group stage) 2

Given it was specifically one of the reasons he moved to Villa, i suspect he's quite disappointed - a bad start to his villa career and relationship with the club. I still have my doubts its going to prove a good move for him (other than for his wallet), but i hope it goes well and we see him shining for villa and england in the future. hypochondriac Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 2 hours ago, Saint Garrett said: That seems pretty daft to have a deadline before the transfer window closes.... Good. They deserve to lose out on a decent defender in the Champions League for dicking us about with silly offers. Had they coughed up the correct amount then the transfer would have been sorted a week earlier than it was. 7
The Kraken Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago 5 hours ago, AlexLaw76 said: Apparently, he could not be added to their CL squad as he signed after the CL deadline (for the group stage) Talksport saying it could be that, but could be part of a homegrown rule and he lost out due to numbers allowed. Why is Harwood-Bellis not included? UEFA squads must include at least eight 'homegrown' players, although four must be trained by the club, meaning Unai Emery faced a numerical dilemma. Villa only have two players who spent three years or more in their academy between the ages of 15 to 21 (goalkeeper James Wright and defender Lamare Bogarde). As a result, the Villans did not fill all four mandatory club-trained spots, which reduces their total List A capacity from 25 down to 23 players. There are also some suggestions Harwood-Bellis may have completed his deadline day move too late to meet UEFA's deadline for squad submissions.
saint michael Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago good that he is getting a year of practice in the prem before he comes back to us in the prem next season. 1 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I think Villa are in for a rude awakening. They've had their moment in the sunlight and are now that team that the big six are pinching off. I've got money on Unai Emery to have resigned before the end of the season. 1
