Great win. Would have lost 5-0 with Bazunu in goal because he wouldn't have saved any of those. Peretz was immense and has made a huge difference to the whole side.

Was wound up by the Lampard-licking Sky coverage beforehand. It was all about Coventry. Ha! That'll teach 'em. Well done Saints. Eckert is proving some of us wrong on his tactical ability but the key thing appears to be that there is contentment in the camp. I suspect getting rid of certain bad eggs is paying dividends.

I was wondering if Kevin Phillips hates us for letting him go at a young age, even though he did come back for a relegation on his CV. He wasn’t remotely enthusiastic at Saints being just the second team to win away at the league leaders and wanted us down to 9 men.

It was actually refreshing to see Saints play with more physicality as we've been way too passive for way too long.

I couldn't watch today cos I was out with no signal. As soon as it returned the first thing that pinged up on my phone was a message from a Cov supporting mate saying "still can't beat you cunts 😠". Took another 10 mins for me to get a strong enough signal to find out if that meant we had drawn or won. 

Just watched the highlights - that save from Peretz in the first half was absolutely outstanding. Like others have already said, we haven't seen a save like that since Niemi.

He's a really good championship keeper which is what matters. Balderdash to suggest we were lucky today.

Comparisons with Baz are surely appropriate to discuss, aren't they? If as you say, Peretz will do in the Championship, that already puts him significantly above Baz, otherwise we wouldn't have (belatedly) got shot of him, would we?

Crumpet for afternoon tea, steak for dinner, a sticky pudding for afters; watched the rugby go to the final kick; now waiting for the @Convict Colony-inspired finale.

As for our match, we rode our luck but we made it by a performance that was so unlike us in recent years and the sheer grit, determination and shithousery was a sight to behold and, for me, made it the most satisfying performance for many years: a proper football match between two (almost) equally matched teams.

Agree superb win, fantastic performance. Liked Lampard before the nonsense at St Marys, so even sweeter. 
Don’t buy this bad egg stuff though. I’m sure some of the experts on here were saying Downes, THB, Stephens were complicit in this. Clearly not.
