Lord Pannick KC. Fucking wow. We have gone right to the very top, I’m buoyed by that. He is the best of the best.

Yep……..but a bit like getting Lester Piggot to ride your horse after the race is over. Should have been instructed at the off. Total incompetence

Anyone really believe who ever is hearing this out is going to say their colleagues got it drastically wrong 24 hours ago?

not going to happen. At best a few points back, probably as as a suspended sanction

There is a less than 1% chance we get reinstated in this appeal. Not for shit. They might arrange a Boro vs Millwall one off game at a neutral venue to mitigate legal threats from Boro and delay the final. I do not know how they placate hull in the event they fail to win promotion as evidently Hull should be promoted.

Do we get a bus parade this season? Except instead of the players riding it's the board and we all pelt them with tomatoes.

If the timing is true that alone suggests it isn't being overturned. If they knew we were being reinstated, they wouldn't hold back the info and allow Boro tickets to continue being sold for the next 2+ hours.

What if the hearing and decision etc isn't being made until say 9.30pm?

Playing devil's advocate, can anyone see a scenario where we get to play on Saturday, win, but get something like a -10 for next season in the Premier League - making it effectively a dead rubber season but saving the club's skin financially?

That would be a truly nightmarish scenario, I think I'd rather take our medicine in the Championship even if it's worse in the long term

That seems preferable to the likely “kicked out of the play offs” scenario and how that is might play out. .

Amateurish, surely you bring in that top lawyer for the initial hearing, not after the horse has bolted

Classic Parsons. Totally out of his depth.

Well then fair enough but everything we've heard so far has said the hearing started at 6, so is likely done by now.

It's a specially commissioned donkey cart with the population of Southampton chanting 'shame, shame' as it rumbles past dragging an effigy of Phil Parsons...

Indeed. Can only assume, aside from gross incompetence, that the club were assuming the initial hearing was going to go a lot less harsh than it did.

This guy charges £5k an hour apparently. Wouldn’t get out of bed for that personally.

Listened to Nick Illingsworth briefly on Solent tonight.

Fair play, didn’t think someone could have that many unhinged views on the situation,

Same could be said for allowing us to buy tickets knowing full well the tribunal were likely to opt for expulsion.

He was once described as having a brain the size of a planet. And not Uranus before some wise crack chips in.

Lord Pannick is the best of the best. He managed to get City a reprieve from their European ban, if it’s possible then we have the right man for the job. Those saying why not do it earlier, it’s clear Parsons thought he’d effectively pled this down to a misdemeanour.

Let's hope Lord Dave is doing this pro bono, because if we're reinstated and win he'll be taking that £200m

If that’s the case why didn’t we just use him for the main hearing?

what did he have to say? He seems to have become a bit odd, after the play off semi final second leg most of hi match report was slagging off how crap the fans were.

Exactly. The timing of who is selling tickets to who is literally irrelevant at this point.

I suspect he's been on board for a while.  Not the sort of bloke to just rock up unprepared IMHO.  If he's involved it seems we might have a case.  I'm sure he wouldn't want to be associated with a no hope case.

Well if anyone can ruin his reputation, I bet Saints can.

Basically said we shouldn’t sack Tonda because we backed Bruce Grobbelaar in the nineties.

Rather spunk that £200m up a wall than give it to Gibbo

Yep. He’s not the kind of guy that usually takes cases he thinks he’s going to lose. Whether the “win” is reinstatement though, I think that’s doubtful. My guess is we won’t have heard the last of this no matter what happens tonight.

Good point, maybe he's been brought on for the inevitable civil suit that follows our expulsion.

I'm trying buy a Lord Pannick costume to wear in the stands on Saturday. Does anyone know what colour the lining of his gown is usually?

For some reason, these references to "Let's bring in Lord Pannick" makes me think of "Shall I fetch Kenneth?".

It's like a leg of lamb!!!

It's been so long since Miltonaggro's post, i've forgotten whether this was all part of his ingenious litigation plan?

Part of it appears to have fallen foul of the less ingenious Phil Parsons, but we will still have our day in court, likely many in the next 18 months.
