Well imagine how angry the Middlesbrough supporters will be - clogging up social media with posts and replies about Manchester City, I mean a team cheating in the league they should be in, obviously not as big an offence or as evil as Saints one, but nevertheless.

WIth their wonderful angel-like attitude I'm sure they'll be demanding City get a 3 point deduction and one of their scheduled penalties is removed - oh and 'Borough get instantly promoted now because....well obvious really.

They get a monumental fine and a transfer ban for a year.

The damage to the PL brand from kicking Citeh out will be too much. Imagine Haaland, Donarumma, Anderson, Fernandez, Doku etc all potentially going abroad and weakening the PL and a significant reduction in chances of a PL team winning the Champions League. We are cannon fodder / easy to brush aside for the football authorities in comparison

And that ignores the sporting sanction. You could make an argument for them being drop kicked out of the Football League.

This is the harsh reality but I think it actually puts the FA in quite a delicate situation. Can they afford to give Tonda a lengthy ban at the exact moment City have been hit with this?

Well let's face it. Standing in a public place while watching players going through their moves in full public view is a much more serious offence than systematically breaking financial rules designed to slightly even things up a bit over many years.

What does "Gibbo" have to say on this? Presumably he'll be demanding a place in the EPL.

Feels like the 115 charges have been around for years and this announcement was quite sudden, but perhaps its been on the cards and just not on our radar. When Pep left there were quite a few people saying he's getting out before the verdict hits. 

Old school City fans wouldn't fear expulsion and some time in league one , in fact some of them would welcome it

The FA is assessing Tonda, the PL is assessing Man City. Separate institutions so they will say independent decisions. The EFL also banned us from the final

Yeah I doubt most of their original fans are that arsed. 

Think the bigger issue for the club might be legal implications rather than sporting ones.

Yeah that’s what I thought - it’s been known and expected for such a long time that it’s almost old news. 114/115 charges proved as wrong-doing apparently - under the circumstances expulsion from the EPL is the least they should expect…possibly also -6 points next season too.

No, they were found guilty of 114 of 115 charges. That's not just a majority, that's all of them bar one. Seven of those were applicable to PSR rules, the others, far more serious. 

54 counts of not supplying financial documentation. Hiding income. Failing to provide salary info. Fraud on a industrial level. 

35 counts of not cooperating. 

And lets remember, other clubs have already been punished for far less. Everton and Nottingham Forrest should feel very aggrieved tonight if this punishment isn't massive points deduction and multiple relegations. 

I don't give a shit about City, but punishments have to be proportionate, or there's no point in having a governing body.

So, what's the punishment to be, and when are all the other clubs going to start filing lawsuits. That's how it works now. You made the rules, after all. 

Burn it all down.

Will Salt recorded nearly 5 minutes of footage on his phone. At a rate of one breach per second that's easily 300 breaches. Which, by my estimation should result in a 731 point deduction from this season and a 327 year ban for Tonda.

Let's see if the premier league has the balls to relegated them via a massive points fine.

I know they won't. It'll be a massive fine that's it. Most likely take off points retrospectively in those years.

Almost certainly a condition of membership of the organisation, EFL, FA etc. All member clubs agree to abide by the decisions of the governing body.

The Citeh decision today has brought into perspective that although the hearing took place yesterday, the decision on sanctions is separate and takes place after and separate to the hearing. The same happened in May, but the timescales were compressed as agreed by the Club.

No surely it isn’t? Listen to any expert pundit and they’ll tell you what we’ve done is the worst thing anyone has ever done in football. A kid on an iPhone standing behind a tree 24 hours later than he’s allowed to, is way worse than a global flouting of 114 rules for 8 years while winning relentless silverware in the process. We deserve everything we get….
